"Thank you, thank you all."
"Then let’s go!"
"Wait, what about this woman?" Another woman pointed her gun at Chen Jing, who was cowering on the ground.
At this mont, Chen Jing felt a mix of fear and anger, but mostly an overwhelming concern for her own life. She saw the disregard for life and the ease of killing in these won’s eyes.
In terms of skills, reactions, and escaping, she was no match.
What should she do?
Should she betray her own people like Ding Jiaqi? Or an innocent little boy?
She couldn’t do it. If survival ant living that way, she would be miserable forever, living in self-reproach and guilt.
That would be more painful than death.
After much internal struggle, Chen Jing finally looked towards Ding Jiaqi, hoping she could speak up for her based on past friendship. She knew this was sowhat selfish, but...
However, before Chen Jing could feel guilty or remorseful, her heart sank when she t Ding Jiaqi’s cold, even hateful gaze.
"Is she with you?" Amanda rudely kicked Ding Jiaqi. "Is she your accomplice?"
Ding Jiaqi awkwardly turned her head away, not daring to et Chen Jing’s eyes. "I... I’m not familiar with her." Hmph! This ti she wasn’t going to be the kind person. Since no one helped her or appreciated her kindness, she couldn’t be blad.
In the past, she had always wanted to save and help others, but what did she get in return?
Nothing at all!
Even her best friend, Chen Jing, didn’t appreciate her. Just monts ago, she even criticized her, not even offering a sip of water!
Now they want her to save soone? Too late, it’s their own fault.
Chen Jing staggered, holding onto the ground to keep herself from collapsing. Her ears echoed with "I’m not familiar with her," over and over. She couldn’t believe it, how could Ding Jiaqi say sothing so heartless?
She stared at Ding Jiaqi, wanting to say sothing, but at this critical mont, she couldn’t utter a word. Because she knew, this was the real Ding Jiaqi, everything before was just an act.
How ridiculous she felt thinking such a person was worthy of deep friendship. She had nearly risked her life for her. If not for her, she’d have returned to her holand long ago. But now, she claid she wasn’t familiar with her.
Not familiar!
Upon hearing Ding Jiaqi’s response, Amanda sneered, raising her gun and pointing it at Chen Jing, saying, "Since she’s not with you, she can’t be left alive."
Hearing Amanda’s words, Ding Jiaqi’s heart skipped a beat, hesitating for a mont, but that quickly gave way to resentnt.
"Do whatever you want." Ding Jiaqi resigned herself, convincing herself that this was Chen Jing’s fault. It had nothing to do with her; she’d been so good to her, yet Chen Jing repaid her kindness with enmity.
She wasn’t to bla at all.
Amanda pressed the gun against Chen Jing’s head, about to pull the trigger when Chen Jing suddenly said, "Wait, you can’t kill ."
Ding Jiaqi turned her head in shock, glaring at Chen Jing, disbelief in her eyes. How could the timid, honest, and scared Chen Jing have the nerve to say such a thing?
Amanda stopped her action, "Why? Give a reason not to kill you."
