Chapter 1430: Chapter 1449: Unbearable
“But…”
“Are you sure Jiang Zhuanzhuan can forgive Jiang Nanfei’s betrayal? Don’t forget that Jiang Zhuanzhuan is a born cri mastermind. The cases she committed were unresolved under your handling; if it weren’t for Jiang Nanfei, she wouldn’t have to be in prison at all. A seventeen-year-old young maiden spending her best years in jail and a psychiatric hospital—I find it impossible to believe she could forgive.”
“I admit, Jiang Nanfei is not at fault. But… but her attitude also isn’t right, don’t you think? Under normal circumstances, shouldn’t she have mixed feelings of guilt, self-bla, and regret?”
Yu Fengji frowned in deep thought and tentatively said, “Maybe… Jiang Nanfei is certain that no matter what she does, no matter whether Jiang Zhuanzhuan goes to prison or receives psychological treatnt, she won’t repent?” He heard a warning in Jiang Nanfei’s words earlier.
Both were simultaneously startled by the thought, and if that were the case, the result would be too dreadful.
Jiang Zhuanzhuan, a natural-born cri mastermind, if she repented, that would be good; if not, she would be a calamity once released.
The two exchanged a look, then fell silent, saying nothing more.

After dinner, Ying Jiuming bid goodbye to Yu Fengji and went directly to the detention center where Jiang Zhuanzhuan was held. While waiting to get her, Ying Jiuming leaned against the wall, smoking, pondering over how he should speak to Jiang Zhuanzhuan.
Previously, he had promised her that he would bring Jiang Nanfei.
Ying Jiuming truly had softened his heart. Jiang Zhuanzhuan’s attitude of admitting her wrongs was excellent, and her unfortunate experiences as a child were also heart-wrenching. Since being arrested, only one classmate had visited her, with no family or friends otherwise.
Whereas Jiang Nanfei had received care and concern from many people, his close friend treated Jiang Nanfei as if she were his own life.
With a jumble of thoughts in his mind, Ying Jiuming snapped back to reality at the sound of handcuffs. He stubbed out his cigarette and walked into the room, sitting down in front of Zhuanzhuan.
Wearing handcuffs and prison garb, Zhuanzhuan looked much the sa as before, except with a paler face and much shorter hair. Seeing Ying Jiuming enter, she stood up in surprise.
“Officer Ying, did my sister co?”
Under her hopeful gaze, Ying Jiuming slightly shook his head, not wanting to make her too sad or to convey Nanfei’s words and attitude to her, he casually fabricated a reason.
“Your sister’s school has strict control, a military academy! You know, it’s not easy to just leave.”
Zhuanzhuan’s bright eyes gradually dimd, and she gave a bitter smile, “Don’t comfort , I know my sister is still angry with !”
“That’s not true, believe , I’m a person who never lies.” Ying Jiuming tried to explain sothing, but knowing that Jiang Zhuanzhuan was too clever and not easily fooled, he finally said, “She is ill, she has gotten sick.”
This reason should work, right?
Zhuanzhuan, trying not to show her disappointnt, asked worriedly, “What happened to my sister? How could she get sick all of a sudden?”
Zhuanzhuan’s attitude softened Ying Jiuming’s gaze quite a bit. Even in such tis, to still think of her sister who had sent her to jail was indeed rare. His and Yu Fengji’s concerns were entirely unnecessary.
“This…” Ying Jiuming thought for a mont. Zhuanzhuan being in prison wouldn’t hinder this knowledge, so he told her the truth.
“Your sister fell from a building previously, leaving a sequel. There is a blood clot in her brain pressing on nerves and blood vessels, very likely causing the blood vessel to rupture and triggering other complications.”
