Chapter 1253: Chapter 1272: Missing
“Achoo…” Huo Beijiang suddenly sneezed, rubbed his prominent nose bridge and muttered quietly, “Could it be soone’s thinking of ?”
Tu Cheng couldn’t stand his narcissism and took a dig, “It’s definitely soone speaking ill of you.”
“That’s impossible. If sneezing ant soone was bad-mouthing , wouldn’t I be busy dying every day?”
Tu Cheng: “…”
Turns out you do have so self-awareness! Now that’s rare!
“What are your odds of finding Kaka?” Tu Cheng brought the conversation back to the task at hand.
“That bastard is just waiting for to show up! As soon as I land, he’ll definitely co find .”
Tu Cheng looked skeptical, but wisely chose to keep his doubts to himself and instead offered another reminder, “Just don’t forget the mission this ti. Completing the task takes top priority. If you dare ss around again, you’ll be carrying the cooking pots back in the kitchen crew upon your return.”
“I’m not taking the fall for anyone else’s ss; whoever roped into this can carry their own.”
Tu Cheng felt a twinge in his brow; they didn’t want to turn to Huo Beijiang either, but what choice did they have?
“Are you at least going to let make a phone call?”
“No way! The mont you board the ship, no one is allowed contact with the outside world. Don’t you know the basics?” Tu Cheng refused sternly.
“You’re a bachelor, how would you understand our pain, being married n? I promised my wife I’d accompany her ho, and then I get dragged away by you guys just like that. Not even allowing a phone call, that’s going too far!”
Although Huo Beijiang said this with a smirk, there wasn’t a trace of jest in his eyes. His handso eyes were deep like pools; brimming with a chilling stubbornness and sharpness that seed eternally frozen.
Making eye contact with Huo Beijiang, Tu Cheng suddenly felt a pricking sensation. He realized Huo Beijiang genuinely didn’t want to carry out this mission. On one hand, no one else was capable of handling it, and on the other, because Kaka was his sworn brother, Huo had no choice but to follow through.
To Tu Cheng, this was unbelievable; he knew better than anyone that if it were a dangerous, thrilling, and challenging mission, Huo Beijiang would be the first to sign up.
Could it really be because he’s got a wife now, he’s beco complacent?
Impossible!
Tu Cheng imdiately rejected that thought; Huo Beijiang simply wasn’t that type of person.
“Fine! Go make your call!” Noticing sothing was off, Tu Cheng quickly conceded.
Huo Beijiang turned and walked towards the cabin without looking back. Lu Jin tried to follow but Tu Cheng stopped him.
“Lu Jin, wait a mont.”
“What’s wrong?”
“Tell what happened to your commander?”
Lu Jin struggled with his expression.
“Don’t you know my relationship with your commander? We’ve been brothers since we were kids. And if he’s really in trouble, I can help him out.”
That much was true.
On Tu Cheng’s ship, his word was law.
Lu Jin hesitated, “It’s the sister-in-law; she’s sick. So, the boss is uneasy about leaving at this ti.”
Tu Cheng started, truly not expecting this to be the reason, and suddenly felt quite guilty. After a while, he finally said, “I see… understood.”
“You mustn’t let the word out, Captain! The boss doesn’t want others to know. And you can’t tell the sister-in-law either, she’s in the dark about it!” Lu Jin looked at Tu Cheng with the innocent eyes of Little Deer.
“Alright, I got it. You just relax! I will pretend I don’t know anything.” Even Jiang Nanfei herself was unaware, which suggested it was no small matter.
Tu Cheng gazed at the seagulls flying over the sea, his expression solemn. The greatest risk in this mission was actually Huo Beijiang. Had he known it would co to this, he never would have forced him to co.
