Chapter 1250: Chapter 1269: Taking Advantage

Zhang Fengi listened for a while and couldn’t help but let out a cold laugh. No wonder she could make the mother-in-law curse up a storm! It turned out to be her sister-in-law.

Speaking of Jiang ili, the elder sister-in-law of the Jiang family, she was definitely a more formidable character than Auntie Zhou Yongxia. As a child, she was always flirting and enticing the local village boys, and there were hardly any young n she hadn’t been involved with.

Later, she even ran away with the son of the neighboring village’s head, only coming back after giving birth to her eldest daughter. Zhang Fengi, having married into the family later, heard all about this from her aunt-in-law who frequently cursed in the village when she had nothing else to do.

Anyway, when she entered the family, Jiang ili often brought her daughter back ho to take advantage, taking both food and goods. Later, to evade the birth control policy, her husband and she entrusted their second child to her sister-in-law to help raise, sending nearly half of their annual inco as nutrition fees.

There were always supplies like milk powder and malted milk food cans; they always arrived carrying large and small packages.

Yet when Zhuanzhuan was brought back ho, she was still thin as a monkey. Jiang ili went around spreading that they were ingratitude personified, clueless about good deeds, taking massive advantage of their family.

The two families quarreled frequently over this, and coupled with their own extre poverty, Jiang ili stopped any exchanges once she saw no more benefits to gain. However, over the past year, Jiang ili had started to shalessly show up again, wailing and making scenes.

Zhang Fengi was annoyed whenever she saw her.

The commotion at the door continued, Jiang ili’s thick-skinned antics astonishing, drawing quite a crowd. Unable to bear listening further, and fearful that her mother-in-law might be at a disadvantage, Zhang Fengi could only go outside. Once there, not only was Jiang ili present, but her eldest daughter Wang Yunyun was there too.

Zhang Fengi couldn’t bring herself to like Wang Yunyun, as this girl had always been comparing herself to Nan Fei. She hadn’t studied diligently, dropping out of junior high, not working earnestly either, instead ssing around everywhere.

“Auntie, Auntie, I’ve missed you,” Wang Yunyun, upon seeing Zhang Fengi, imdiately rushed over enthusiastically. “Auntie, I heard that cousin Nan Fei is doing really well in Imperial City, I should go and rely on her! Auntie, call cousin Nan Fei to pick up at the train station.”

She had planned this at length. Now that her uncle’s family had struck it rich, her grandmother, the old hag, stood in the middle preventing their advantage-taking. But Jiang Nanfei would be different; once she reached Imperial City, Nan Fei would do whatever she wanted.

She’d dutifully hand over Nan Fei’s money for her to spend.

“Don’t even think about it,” Guan Rufang exploded upon hearing this, “You can drop that idea; don’t go disgrace us in Imperial City.”

“Grandma.” Wang Yunyun stomped her foot, her voice coquettishly fluctuating, “Grandma, I am your only granddaughter, you wouldn’t be so cruel, right? Plus, you know what? Da Zhuang pesters all day long, I really can’t stand being at ho anymore.”

Jiang ili also joined in with tears, making a scene, and went to the extre of threatening suicide. She lanted how tough her life had beco, the local idlers like Da Zhuang harboring ill-intentions towards Wang Yunyun. She felt downtrodden at ho, with the old tyrant at ho beating her too.

She was now so poor she couldn’t even afford a block of tofu, pleading with her brother to pity her—even if he held a grudge against her, to please help Yun Yun, since the child was innocent. As the commotion escalated, just then Jiang Dechun returned from the office building and ended up on the ground, hugging his brother’s legs, weeping.

Jiang Dechun’s face turned shades of green and purple, kicking continuously but unable to get Jiang ili to leave.

In the end, mother and daughter simply escalated the scene by theatrically threatening death, causing such a disturbance that there was no choice but to take Wang Yunyun along.
