Cheng Su and Qi Taiguo tried to keep their movents quiet, but the small room and its poor sound insulation ant that they still ended up making so noise, startling the mother and daughter next door who had already gone to sleep.
The next day, Qi Fenglian saw Cheng Su’s face flush with an awkward embarrassnt, and even Mother Qi seed sowhat bashful when she looked at Cheng Su.
At first, Cheng Su was clueless, but after seeing the embarrassed Fenglian say she would return ho in a couple of days, she gradually understood and beca sowhat embarrassed herself.
"Taiguo’s wife, I’m feeling a bit unwell; please take
to the hospital for a check-up," Mother Qi suddenly said to Cheng Su at breakfast.
Both Cheng Su and Qi Taiguo were shocked and asked anxiously, "Mom, what’s wrong? Where do you feel uncomfortable?"
Mother Qi looked at Qi Taiguo and said, "It’s nothing serious, just the usual old-people problems, feeling a bit dizzy and uneasy in the heart."
"Mom, let’s go to the hospital after breakfast!" Qi Taiguo imdiately offered.
"You need to be on duty at the army base; you don’t have to co. I have your wife here!" Mother Qi rejected Qi Taiguo’s offer, looking only at Cheng Su.
"I’ll accompany Mom then; it’s not easy for you to take leave," Cheng Su said.
Qi Taiguo hesitated for a mont, then nodded in agreent.
Only then did Mother Qi show a satisfied expression.
After breakfast, Cheng Su pedaled her bicycle, taking Mother Qi to the hospital. They registered for an appointnt and headed straight to the internal dicine departnt.
After a series of traditional diagnostic thods, the doctor inford them that Mother Qi was in very good health. As for the dizziness, they took so blood for tests, the results of which would have to wait.
Cheng Su waited with her, and Mother Qi said, "Since we’re waiting anyway, why don’t you go for a check-up too?"

Her dizziness was a ruse; the real reason for bringing her to the hospital was to have her ’barren’ womb checked in the gynecology departnt!
Cheng Su felt sowhat angry—wasn’t this just a classic bait and switch?
"Doctor, please check her thoroughly. My daughter-in-law has been married for half a year, and there is still not a peep from her belly!" as soon as Mother Qi saw the female gynecologist, she urged anxiously.
After the consultation and examination, Cheng Su was fully cooperative but her face was dark throughout, looking as if soone owed her a hundred thousand dollars.
"Doctor, how is it?" Mother Qi directly ignored Cheng Su’s gloomy expression, focusing only on the female doctor.
"Don’t worry, your daughter-in-law is in very good health; she will certainly bear you a big, healthy grandson!" the female doctor said with a smile.
"Are you sure there’s no problem? They’ve been married for over half a year, and there’s not a hint of movent!" Mother Qi frowned with disbelief.
"There’s no problem, she could have ten or eight children if she wanted. It’s all about fate with these things, not simply a matter of being married for a while. Your daughter-in-law is still young, just be patient!" the female doctor said after glancing at Cheng Su.
Mother Qi muttered discontentedly, "She’s young and can afford to wait, but my son is nearly thirty already!"
Perhaps used to seeing people so eager for grandchildren, the doctor replied, "Thirty is still young. Just be patient, it’ll happen when it’s ti. Don’t worry!"
"Then, why not prescribe her sothing to take?" Mother Qi was still not content.
"dication is not without side effects. If there’s nothing wrong, why take dication? Just take care of herself, and let nature take its course—you can’t rush these things," the doctor waved off the suggestion.
Mother Qi had no choice but to give up, sheepishly following Cheng Su out of the examination room.
As soon as they left the room, Cheng Su scoffed and said, "Mom, you really put on quite the performance today!"
