"Commander Qi, we et again!" Chiang Qing said, smiling as she extended her slender hand to Qi Taiguo.
Qi Taiguo’s surprise lasted but a mont before he composed himself to handle the situation formally, though he didn’t shake her hand and instead saluted: "Doctor Chiang, hello."
Chiang Qing’s eyes narrowed slightly, her hand returning as if nothing had occurred.

"Huh, you two know each other?" Regintal Commander Mai raised an eyebrow.
"Regintal Commander Mai, back when we were in Xiangxi, I ’saved’ Commander Qi’s life!" Chiang Qing said with a laugh, giving Qi Taiguo a deep look.
Regintal Commander Mai slapped his forehead as if suddenly rembering, "Ah yes, I heard about that. I heard Commander Qi was bitten by a spider, and just by chance, Xiao Chiang, you were conducting so research in those mountains and had a dical kit with you. You gave Commander Qi antibiotics!"
"I was just there for fun, it wasn’t really research," Chiang Qing replied cheerfully. "Commander Qi was just lucky!"
"Co on, Xiao Chiang, you’re being too modest. Isn’t it well known that you’re well-versed in dicine for treating and saving people? Weren’t you also part of the team researching the serum for the Five-step Snake Venom?" Regintal Commander Mai said. "You could be considered our military region’s ’female Norman Bethune’."
"Regintal Commander Mai, you flatter . I was just assisting the professors; I can’t claim to have been involved in the research," Chiang Qing said humbly, then glanced at Qi Taiguo again, "I heard that Commander Qi is a young and promising figure with distinguished military achievents, a true iron soldier of the departnt!"
Qi Taiguo said indifferently, "Doctor Chiang, you give
too much credit. Despite your young age, you are already a military doctor, selflessly serving our country, which is truly comndable."
His ears were not deaf; he surely caught the subtext in Regintal Commander Mai’s words—that Chiang Qing might not be simple either.
"Let’s leave those words between us, Commander Qi, you might not think much of soone like
who deals with patients," Chiang Qing giggled softly.
The implication behind her words seed a bit ambiguous, causing Qi Taiguo’s thick brows to furrow lightly.
"Alright, alright, no need to keep complinting each other. In any case, you are both impressive and extraordinary!" Regintal Commander Mai clapped his hands. "Commander Qi, take Military Doctor Chiang and her colleagues to the dormitories in the courtyard to settle in. Xiao Chiang, there will be a welco dinner for you in the canteen tonight. We can chat more then!"
"Then I’ll trouble Commander Qi," Chiang Qing said, looking towards Qi Taiguo.
