As the couple followed deeper into the mountainous region, the eerie silence continued to increase even further.
Normally, as one went deeper into any kind of forest or a mountain, one would hear various noises and calls of birds and other animals.
But in this place, although they were able to hear so birds' calls on the outer periter, but as they walked further in, there was just complete silence.
"Don't you find that this is really a bit weird?"
As they continued to walk deeper and the sound of the waterfalls was getting louder, the lady asked her husband.
"What?"
Hearing his question, the lady frowned.
There was this weird feeling that had been rising in her heart ever since they ca here and now that they were so deeper into the mountain, that feeling only continued to increase until she just couldn't hold it anymore and felt as I she was being suffocated.
"This place just feels eerie."
Just as she muttered, she glanced around to look at her son but much to her shock, he was nowhere to be found.
The little guy was just a few ters ahead of them not long ago, but just as she asked her husband and turned back her child was nowhere to be seen.
"Huo!"
"Sweety, don't make mom afraid, co out if you are hiding sowhere, mom is getting worried for you."
She imdiately called out, not sparing any ti to search by themselves.
She had already been feeling eerie about this place and not that her son was nowhere to be seen, she didn't want to waste ti searching for him.
"Hey, he is a child, he would have intended to play, co let's find him."
But her husband seed amused and chuckled.
"NOO!"
The woman shook her head, her eyes were already starting to get moist from not seeing her son for a few seconds.
"Huo, sweety co or mom will start crying now, sniff."
"Dear, he should be hiding sowhere, why are you crying about that, doesn't he always try to do this?"
The man couldn't help but shake his head seeing her start to cry.
"You don't understand, call for him."
The woman growled with her red eyes.
From the mont she entered this place, she had been feeling eerie and now that her son was nowhere to be seen, nurous unwanted thoughts started to appear in her mind.
Noticing that she was losing it, the man also obliged and called for their son.
"Huo, co out now, your mom is already crying, son, we don't want to ss with her."
The man called out while the two spread on different sides to look for their son.
"Huo, sweety, mom is really worried about you, now co out or I won't talk to you after today."
The woman called out, whimpering and sobbing in heartache.
It had been not more than 2 minutes, and her condition only went worse from bad.
Her eyes had not turned red and were also swollen from crying all this long and her throat had also turned hoarse, but she didn't stop calling for her child.
And the fear of the unknown only made her lose all of her ability to think properly causing her to go in a direction which she felt going towards.
"Huo, if you don't co out now, mom will really not talk to you, co out my sweety, please, I beg you."
"SNIFF, ahuuu."
Even her throat had stopped releasing any voice but she didn't stop calling for her son no matter if the voice was not even strong enough to be heard by soone who was just a few feet away from her.
She was about to lose all hope and fall on her knees but still taking the support of a few trees she still held onto the tiniest hope that had left in her heart which still made her believe that she could see her son in just another few steps.
"Huo, where are you..."
She muttered, little to no voice coming out of her throat which had already turned completely hoarse and swollen.
"RUFFFLLLLL"
Just as she was about to look in so other direction after not finding any trace of her son's presence, she saw sothing that she definitely could not forget in such little ti that had passed.
It was tens of ters away but she didn't really have thought of how she was able to see that thing which was so further away.
But she couldn't care about it in the least as she hurriedly rushed there scratching her knees at the thorny shrub nearby.
"ARGHH"
Releasing a groan of pain she walked ahead limping through the stones.
Right now she didn't even have the thought of calling for her husband in this direction knowing that this might be the place where her son was.
"HOOO"
She tried to call out once more as she fell on her knees and picked up the thing that she had found.
It was a small cluster of small flowers that were similar to the ones that hung on her hair bun.
The ones which were picked by her son when they were on the outer periter of this mountain.
And the reason why she felt that her son was close by was that that kind of plant was nowhere to be found around, besides, she had seen her son pick up a few more flowers and pack them in his pockets before.
This only made her suspicion to be confird.
Thinking of this, she hurriedly walked ahead as the tiniest hope started to grow in her heart, subconsciously she felt a very strong power coming to her body giving her strength to push herself even further and faster while carrying the small cluster of beautiful flowers.
But what she saw about 50 ters ahead of her after taking another twenty or so steps caused her heart to shudder in fear and the small cluster of flowers in her palm also was crushed due to the tightening of her fist.
"HUOOOO"
