Queen dusa turned slightly, took the bronze mirror from Chen Mo, and glanced at her reflection. As she listened to his words, her red lips curled into a faintly chilly smile.

"What kind of reward do you want?" she asked coldly.

"I want to sleep with you in my arms tonight," Chen Mo said, casually playing with her silky hair, unfazed by the coldness in her tone.

After all, Her Majesty had just bathed—

Holding her in bed tonight would definitely be a unique experience.

"That's it?" Queen dusa asked, still looking at the phoenix hairpin in the mirror, a cold smile tugging at her lips.

Of course, Chen Mo had never taken her coldness too seriously.

Hearing her response, he grinned and added, "That's it? What, should I be kissing you while I sleep too?"

The atmosphere was already beginning to grow a little heated.

Queen dusa reclined slightly against the throne's armrest, her gaze sharp and unyielding. "And?"

"...And?" Chen Mo blinked, then shalessly said, "Let think..."

Queen dusa narrowed her eyes. The cold in her gaze suddenly flared, and with a flick of her purple serpent tail, she sent Chen Mo flying.

"Lustful fool," she said coldly, then stood from the throne and sashayed toward the soft couch, her slender, graceful waist swaying alluringly.

She lay down, and with a wave of her jade-like hand, the flas of every candle in the chamber were extinguished.

The grand palace bedchamber fell into complete darkness.

Chen Mo, relying on the moonlight spilling through the window, looked at the enchanting silhouette lying on the couch. His throat bobbed with a swallow, heart heating up.

"There's hope."

Ace pilot requesting takeoff again!

With light footsteps, Chen Mo slowly approached the couch—

One step... two steps... until he arrived beside it.

He took off his boots and climbed into Queen dusa's bed.

Seeing that she didn't object, Chen Mo quietly lay behind her.

Her form beneath the red dress was, frankly, outrageous. Just as he was about to wrap his arms around her—

Queen dusa spoke in a frosty voice:

"Did you bathe?"

Without hesitation, Chen Mo wrapped his arms around her waist. Feeling her warmth and softness in his embrace, he responded with excitent, "I did! Inside and out!"

She made a soft sound of acknowledgnt and said nothing further.

Which to Chen Mo, was a tacit agreent.

He felt a small thrill.

His hand gently stroked her soft waist, drawing lazy circles on her belly.

Just lying there... doing nothing? Not possible.

But instead of getting too handsy, which would feel too vulgar, Chen Mo offered instead,

"Your Majesty, how about I sing for you?"

Back in his previous life, he'd won awards in his university's singing contests and was a regular karaoke champion. His voice was solid.

Queen dusa gave a faint hum of assent.

So Chen Mo began to sing:

I'm still searching...

For sothing to lean on.

Soone to hold tight.

Soone to worry, soone to cry,

Soone to fight for late at night...

Happiness, it's getting close.

He sang in both male and female voices. The song, "Dimples," was one of his favorites, so he rembered the lyrics well.

"How was that, Your Majesty? Did you like it?" Chen Mo asked softly, a little bashfully.

Queen dusa was montarily stunned.

She had heard of songs and dances perford by courtesans in the entertainnt districts of the Jia Ma Empire—

But this? This was nothing like those.

Chen Mo's singing was strange, didn't rhy at all.

And yet... it was pleasant to listen to.

She gave a small nod in reply.

Chen Mo smiled, pleased.

He tightened his arms a bit, pulling her closer, and rested his head on her fragrant shoulder. Then he whispered into her ear and began singing another song—"A Little Sweet."

It was basically a confession in song.

But Queen dusa didn't fully understand the lyrics.

Sumr cola?

Winter cocoa?

What are these strange things?

Still, there was a line she really liked—one she even asked him to sing again:

"The wound hasn't healed yet,

But you barged into my heart anyway.

It was you who made flowers bloom in my barren desert."

That verse made Queen dusa feel as though Chen Mo was singing his heart to her.

[Ding! Affection 1. You have gained 2 Affection Coins.

'Intimacy Bonus' triggered: You have received a Super Critical Hit.]

Chen Mo's eyes lit up.

Yes! More progress!

Then he checked what "Super Critical Hit" ant—

Apparently, the next ti he gained affection, it would trigger a major bonus.

Nice.

Chen Mo kept going.

He sang two more love songs.

Though Queen dusa said they sounded nice—

Her affection didn't increase further.

Still, Chen Mo wasn't disappointed.

Slow and steady... this isn't a bad way either.

"Goodnight, Your Majesty."

As usual, Chen Mo pressed a kiss to her fair, smooth back—then drifted off to sleep.

About the ti it takes an incense stick to burn later—

Feeling his breath gently on her neck, Queen dusa picked up the hand that had slipped from her waist and gently placed it back.

Her red lips curled slightly as she whispered:

"Goodnight... little one."

The night was quiet and clear.

The silver moon hung high above.

anwhile, in the Snake-People's Sacred Temple—

Seated in deep ditation, Die's eyes suddenly opened. A mont later, she closed them again.

"Chen Mo... in just one more month, we'll be together again."

As dawn painted the eastern sky pale—

Chen Mo woke to find the person in his arms was no longer there.

His gaze swept the room and found Queen dusa washing up at the vanity.

In this world, people used a special alchemical rinse called Spirit Freshening Liquid to clean their teeth. Even novice alchemists could concoct it. It was far more effective than toothpaste and left a fragrant scent.

Of course, cultivators could simply use Dou Qi to cleanse themselves from the inside out.

Using Spirit Freshening Liquid was more a formality than necessity.

Chen Mo got out of bed, slipped on his boots, and walked over to join her.

He began brushing up beside her.

Queen dusa gave him a sideways glance but didn't say anything.

Unlike her, Chen Mo didn't dawdle.

Swish swish swish!

Three quick strokes, and he was done. Then, for good asure, he used Dou Qi to fully cleanse himself.

As his eyes caught the nearby makeup table, a thought suddenly struck him:

"Your Majesty, let do your makeup today!"

Queen dusa's vanity was only used for styling her hair and pinning in accessories.

Makeup? Never.

She imdiately refused, "I don't need it."

"No, you do," Chen Mo insisted.

He gently pulled her over and seated her in front of the vanity mirror.

Then he took out the eyebrow brush, rouge, and this world's version of lip balm from his storage ring.

As Queen dusa watched him pull out the tools, her phoenix eyes showed an intrigued gleam.

But Chen Mo was already focused, tilting her head slightly and beginning to draw her brows.

His movents were gentle and ticulous—as though crafting a work of art.

Watching him work so intently, Queen dusa's lips curved into the faintest of smiles.

She let him continue.
