Upon hearing that cold snort, everyone instinctively turned to the staircase.

From there erged a group of people. Leading them was an elder dressed in luxurious robes, his face gloomy and ominous. Several guards followed behind him.

They approached slowly.

At that mont, the elder's expression was dark, and his eyes were filled with murderous intent as he glared at Chen Mo and Queen dusa.

"Elder Lei Ao," the surrounding guards saluted respectfully.

The elder known as Lei Ao swept his gaze across the crowd, finally settling on Ya Fei.

"Ya Fei," he said coldly, "Lei Le is still a mber of the Miteer Clan. How could you stand by and let him be injured by outsiders?"

Ya Fei was stunned, her peach blossom eyes flashing with confusion. The accusation made her face darken slightly, but she responded with a calm chill:

"I'm just a lowly three-star Dou Zhe. How could I possibly stop them?"

Lei Ao glared at her but didn't press the issue further. Instead, he turned his icy gaze back to Chen Mo and Queen dusa.

"You little bastard. You and that snake—"

Swish!

Before he could finish, the black-robed snake-woman in the center of the encircled guards suddenly blurred. In the blink of an eye, she crossed the five-ter distance and appeared right before Lei Ao.

His pupils contracted violently. His expression changed drastically, and just as he tried to circulate his Dou Qi to defend—

Smack!

Her palm struck directly against his chest.

Boom!

Lei Ao's body shot back like a cannonball, slamming into the far wall of the hall—right next to the deeply embedded figure of Lei Le.

Lei Ao coughed up a mouthful of blood and passed out cold.

Queen dusa spoke, her voice low and firm:

"I said—he's not soone you're allowed to insult."

Chen Mo was absolutely stunned by her dominance.

Internally, he scread: Her Majesty is glorious! Her Majesty is badass!

All the guards surrounding them looked at each other, eyes wide in disbelief.

Elder Lei Ao—an eight-star Dou Ling—was defeated in a single move by this black-robed snake-woman.

"Hiss—"

The crowd collectively sucked in a breath.

Everyone stared in shock, struggling to process what they had just witnessed.

One hit. A single strike. A one-shot KO on an eight-star Dou Ling.

That kind of strength... at the very least, required a Dou Wang.

And among the snake-people, the only known Dou Wang-level snake-woman was the leader of the Moonshadow Tribe: Yue i.

Countless faces turned pale.

Several people instinctively took a few steps back, frightened and silent.

A snake-person Dou Wang, brazenly appearing in the capital of the Jia Ma Empire?

It was more than just the Miteer Clan's problem now.

This was a national problem—a clash between the human race and the snake-people.

And the hatred between the two races... was no small matter.

One after another, eyes turned toward Yun Yun.

Everyone knew the leader of Mist Cloud Sect—a Dou Huang powerhouse.

Surely she could handle this snake-woman?

Yun Yun didn't move. She only said calmly:

"She's not Yue i."

Yun Yun had fought Yue i before. The aura this black-robed snake-woman gave off was completely different.

When those words fell—

The entire grand crystal hall went dead silent for a mont.

A calm sentence, but to everyone's ears, it was like a thunderclap.

Their eyes widened as they stared at the black-robed figure.

So even swallowed hard and shivered involuntarily.

There were rumors that Queen dusa was terrifying and ruthless. If this woman was truly that Queen dusa...

Then none of them here would live to see another day.

So still clung to hope, trembling as they spoke:

"M-Mistress Yun... surely... surely not... right?"

Their voices alone revealed the overwhelming fear Queen dusa's na inspired.

Ya Fei and Nalan Yanran both looked horrified.

Yanran clung tightly to Yun Yun's hand, frightened.

A powerful aura had begun to surge from deep within the auction house—but the mont Queen dusa's identity was hinted at, it quietly retreated.

The guards surrounding Chen Mo and Queen dusa all staggered back, their faces pale and legs trembling.

They were so terrified they were practically ready to wet themselves.

Queen dusa glanced at Yun Yun with calm eyes.

She neither confird nor denied the claim.

Then, she turned to look at Chen Mo.

Chen Mo smiled faintly at the crowd and said,

"Let's go."

With that, he took Queen dusa's hand and calmly walked toward the exit of the auction house—bringing along the snake-woman Lei Le had struck earlier.

No one dared to stop them.

In fact, people hurried to move aside, opening up a path for them.

Even Yun Yun didn't try to intervene.

If that woman was Queen dusa, then even Yun Yun wouldn't be able to stop her—and might end up dead instead.

Ten minutes after the group left—

The entire hall exhaled collectively, everyone wiping the cold sweat from their foreheads.

Whether she was Queen dusa or not, no one was willing to find out the hard way.

Her fearso reputation was far too terrifying.

When things finally cald down—

Soone shouted indignantly:

"That snake-woman was too arrogant! Brazenly barging into the capital like that—does she not even see us humans?!"

As soon as one person shouted, others joined in:

"Exactly! Unbelievable! We have to show them we're not pushovers!"

"But... who was that human guy? The snake-woman really seed to protect him. She even listened to him!"

Bit by bit, the topic shifted—from the snake-woman to Chen Mo.

anwhile, Yun Yun's expression turned serious, her mind racing as she pondered Queen dusa's real purpose in coming here.

After leaving the auction house—

Chen Mo didn't imdiately flee the capital.

Instead, he went shopping, buying a few sets of robes and picking out so dresses for Queen dusa and Die.

He also grabbed so jewelry and accessories.

Finally, he stopped by the Alchemist Guild to test for the Tier-3 Alchemist badge.

After all, he had told Queen dusa he'd do that.

And since he was going to bluff—might as well go all in.

Fortunately, the auction house incident hadn't blown up yet, so his exam went smoothly.

After receiving his Tier-3 Alchemist badge and uniform, he left the capital along with Queen dusa and the rescued snake-woman—

And returned to the Tagor Desert.

But not long after they left—

News of the incident at the Miteer Auction House began to spread.

Once the details erged—

Everyone was stunned to learn that after leaving the auction house, Chen Mo and his companions didn't leave imdiately.

No, they casually went shopping, then took an alchemist exam.

What did that an?

It ant... they hadn't feared anyone in the capital.

They acted like no one could touch them.

Intolerable! Absolutely intolerable!
