A black robe wrapped tightly around her, concealing her alluring and flawless figure completely.

But even so, it couldn't hide the cold arrogance that radiated from Queen dusa—the kind of disdain that looked down upon everything beneath her.

It wasn't until she donned a white jade mask and iron clawed gloves—hiding her bewitching face and slender, jade-like fingers—that her noble and regal aura was finally subdued.

After giving a few final instructions to her tribe, Queen dusa departed with Chen Mo on their journey toward the central city of the Jia Ma Empire.

The distance from the Tagor Desert to the empire's capital was long.

Even with a flight beast specifically used for long-distance travel—like the Thick-Winged Bird—the trip would take nearly four to five days.

Chen Mo's destination was the imperial capital.

According to the map he had purchased in Desert City, Mist Cloud Sect was only a few dozen li from the capital.

So, if he ca up empty-handed at the Miteer Auction House and didn't find Ya Fei, he'd risk going straight to the Mist Cloud Sect.

As long as he didn't stir up trouble, he could bind and retreat quickly.

Yun Shan likely wouldn't make a move.

As for why he didn't choose to go to Wu Tan City to find Ya Fei...

According to the original story, Ya Fei only went to Wu Tan City for her family's training program.

At this point in the tiline, she might not be there yet.

Plus, Wu Tan City was further away from the Mist Cloud Sect. If Ya Fei wasn't there, he'd be wasting too much ti.

"Your Majesty, you fly faster—give a ride, will you?"

Chen Mo, flying alongside Queen dusa on his sword, gave her a playful grin.

As he spoke, he reached over and put his arm around her waist.

Queen dusa gave him a cold glare—but didn't push him away.

Or rather... by now, Queen dusa didn't seem to mind Chen Mo holding her like this anymore.

With a flap of her flaming red wings, Queen dusa shot toward the imperial capital at full speed.

Midway, she couldn't help but ask:

"Why are you going to the Jia Ma Empire's capital?"

After speaking, she felt an inexplicable nervousness in her heart.

She didn't want the reason to be because of her.

But Chen Mo had already prepared an excuse:

"The capital is the most prosperous city in the Jia Ma Empire. The Alchemist Guild's headquarters is there too. I plan to buy a few things at the auction and maybe test for a Tier-3 Alchemist badge while I'm at it."

Hearing this, Queen dusa sighed in relief and didn't press any further.

The capital of the Jia Ma Empire was called Jia Ma Holy City.

It was ho to three major clans:

The Nalan Clan, the Mu Clan, and the Miteer Clan.

The Mu Clan was loyal to the imperial family, and its elder was one of the empire's top ten powerhouses.

The Miteer Clan was the wealthiest of the three, operating nurous auction houses and running a powerful intelligence network, with business interests spread across the entire empire.

The Nalan Clan was originally loyal as well, but after Old Nalan (Nalan Jie) was crippled by poison and beca bedridden—and especially after his granddaughter Nalan Yanran was accepted as a personal disciple of the Mist Cloud Sect's master—they gradually began to act as a subordinate power of the sect.

In front of a majestic mansion—

A tall, graceful woman in a light green dress stood alongside a girl in a pale moon-white robe.

The servants at the gate quickly recognized them and exclaid:

"Miss is back! And Sect Master Yun ca with her!"

Night fell.

Darkness blanketed the land.

High in the sky, the silver moon hung bright, and its gentle light pushed away the shadows bit by bit.

Thanks to Queen dusa flying at full speed, the two of them arrived at Jia Ma Holy City that sa night.

Under the moonlight, Chen Mo released her and landed on his flying sword. Glancing down at the grand city below, he shifted his gaze toward the north.

There, a towering mountain range stretched like a slumbering dragon. Bathed in moonlight, it radiated a majestic spiritual aura.

According to the map, that was Mist Cloud Mountain—the ho of Mist Cloud Sect.

The two quietly snuck into Jia Ma Holy City.

They found an inn and checked in.

But... a minor incident occurred.

Queen dusa's identity as a snake-person was recognized by so inn guests.

And honestly, it was hard to miss—her long, purple serpent tail made it obvious to anyone with working eyes.

Chen Mo imdiately released his Da Dou Shi (Great Fighter) aura and said: "She's my servant."

With just that one line, everyone's suspicions were dispelled.

Then, they shot Chen Mo knowing smiles.

The purple snake tail, paired with that slender figure beneath the black cloak—it was obvious to everyone.

She had to be a snake-woman.

And snake-won were often seen as playthings kept by wealthy young masters or nobles.

What's more, Chen Mo only booked one room.

This late at night... well, they could guess what was going to happen.

With a few chuckles, everyone dispersed.

Chen Mo's face darkened with embarrassnt as he quickly pulled Queen dusa—now exuding coldness—toward the stairs.

Once inside the room and with the door shut—

Queen dusa yanked off her white jade mask and glared icily at him. "Human! You dare say I'm your servant?!"

"If I hadn't said that, we probably would've ended up in a fight."

Chen Mo sat down on a chair by the table and poured himself a cup of tea.

After finishing it, he filled the sa cup again and walked over to hand it to Queen dusa.

She shot him a look but didn't reject it. Instead, she downed it in one gulp and said coldly, "So what? You think this queen is afraid of them?"

"Your Majesty, do you rember what you promised before we left the Tagor Desert? Out in the world, you follow my lead."

Chen Mo took back the cup and continued:

"Besides, I've been your slave for days now. What's wrong with you being my servant for a few?"

Queen dusa's eyes chilled—but then she let the matter go.

After all, she had chosen to co with him.

Chen Mo put down the cup and suddenly looked at her long, purple tail. He asked:

"Your Majesty, can you change the color of your tail?"

He rembered that in the ani, when Queen dusa disguised herself, her serpent tail wasn't purple.

At his words, Queen dusa waved her sleeve. A surge of crimson Dou Qi enveloped her tail.

As it faded, she said coolly, "Done."

"???"

Chen Mo stared at her tail—which was still very much purple—and three big question marks popped into his head.

Human—wait, no—serpent logic?!

Seeing his expression, Queen dusa asked in surprise, "You're not under the illusion?"

"Illusion?" Chen Mo frowned.

"Just a Serpent Illusion," she explained. "A basic trick—just visual misdirection. It only works on people below the Dou Wang level."
