Swish! Swish! Swish!

Within the vast sea of erald flas, a faint streak of black light flickered like a bolt of lightning, darting rapidly through the surging green fire waves.

The sheer speed blurred the world around Wei Yang, distorting everything into indistinct motion.

In his eyes, only one thing remained sharp and brilliant—the unremarkable green lotus in the distance, glowing like a beacon.

"So, I’ve finally found the core of the Life Spirit Fla..."

As the gap between them rapidly closed, a fierce light blazed in Wei Yang’s eyes.

This reckless gamble—it was worth it!

A low, focused growl escaped his throat as black fire ignited wildly across his palms.

With a hard stomp on the void beneath his feet, his body flashed forward, leaving behind a faint afterimage.

In the blink of an eye, a blurred streak of black appeared directly before the green lotus.

Now that he was this close, Wei Yang could feel the overwhelming, infinite vitality radiating from the lotus—it was imnse, unfathomable.

Before it, he felt like a re ant facing a towering green tree that stretched into the heavens. An involuntary sense of awe and reverence flooded his heart.

But he crushed the feeling the mont it surfaced.

"I don’t care what you are. To , you’re prey—nothing more."

The core of the Life Spirit Fla pulsed with incomprehensible life energy. Though it carried no aura of destruction, its terrifying temperature alone seared Wei Yang’s skin through his black fire protection.

Yet, he didn’t hesitate. His hand, wrapped in roaring black flas, shot forward.

"Got you!"

With a sharp cry, his twin palms thrust through the green lotus like lightning, and in one fluid motion, he grabbed the green-glowing orb hidden within.

Instantly, it felt like he was clutching pure, blazing radiance—heat so intense it defied description.

The entire fire sea quivered violently at that mont.

Shriek—!

The green orb in Wei Yang’s grasp flared, bursting into radiant light.

At the sa ti, a high-pitched wail—sowhere between the cry of a newborn and the roar of a beast—echoed throughout the fla-filled void.

The screech, sharp as needles, was soaked in fury and panic.

As it rang out, the entire sea of fire erupted into chaos. Massive waves of fla surged and crashed in all directions, violently converging toward Wei Yang.

The void boiled—shattering under the weight of the flas!

It was as if the end of the world had co.

At the center of it all stood Wei Yang—insignificant and fragile—seemingly about to be engulfed in the next breath.

"The core of the Life Spirit Fla... it’s finally mine!"

Clutching the green light in both hands, Wei Yang’s eyes sparkled with wild excitent, a grin spreading across his face.

The fifth-ranked Heavenly Fla on the Heavenly Fla Ranking, its very essence, was now in his grasp!

Even the scorching pain in his hands, already blistering despite his protective flas, was forgotten in that mont of triumph.

Buzz... buzz... buzz...

Inside his dantian, the Black Sun Burning Heaven Fla began trembling violently, snapping him back to focus.

Lifting his head, Wei Yang’s smile froze as he saw the monstrous waves of erald fire crashing in from every direction.

The Life Spirit Fla had gone completely berserk.

And now—this was the real trial of life and death.

"Black Sun Burning Heaven Fla... it’s up to you to hold the line. I’ll make it quick!" Wei Yang murmured inwardly.

Buzz!

Boom!

The Black Sun erupted around him, enveloping his body in a do of protective energy. A blinding black light surged forth like never before.

Crackle—!

Black lightning danced and exploded across the surface of the Black Sun, flickering wildly.

Then—

RUMBLE—

The green flas ca crashing down from all directions, completely swallowing the Black Sun whole.

The Life Spirit Fla might lack true sentience. Its combat instincts were crude—like handing a toddler a cannon.

But that didn’t matter. A cannon doesn’t need finesse to destroy.

And though it couldn’t aim precisely, its full-force bombardnt was absolutely real

Inside the Black Sun, Wei Yang held a searing orb of green light tightly in his arms.

The orb trembled violently, struggling with relentless force.

Its strength was terrifying.

More than once, Wei Yang almost lost his grip and nearly let it escape.

Gritting his teeth, he tightened his hold, locking it firmly against his chest.

"Aargh!"

The instant he made contact, it felt like clutching molten magma—so scorching that he swore he could sll the scent of his own flesh being charred.

And this was with the Black Fla insulating him.

Had it not been for that protection, he would’ve lted down to nothing in a heartbeat.

But Wei Yang had no ti to marvel at the imnse vitality it contained. Without hesitation, he began mobilizing his soul power.

In order to subdue this core fla as quickly as possible, he didn’t care about the cost. He pushed himself to the limit, forcing every drop of soul power he had into action.

From the center of his brow, soul power burst out like floodwaters breaching a dam.

This was the first ti in his life that Wei Yang had ever drawn on his soul with such wild, unrestrained force.

Boom!

His soul power slamd into the green light’s core.

Zzzzt—!

Thin trails of white smoke curled upward, visible to the naked eye.

The dense soul power—so rich it was nearly solid—landed on the fla’s core like wax dripping onto red-hot iron, dissolving instantly.

The rate of soul energy depletion was terrifying.

"Ugh...!"

Wei Yang let out a muffled groan, like soone had just smashed him in the back of the head. His brain throbbed with pain.

But he didn’t stop. He clenched his teeth, ignoring the cold sweat pouring from his forehead, and continued pouring more and more soul power into the fla.

Slowly...

As his soul power steadily infiltrated the fla, the struggle within the green orb began to weaken.

The Life Spirit Fla’s awareness withdrew inward, retreating into the core to resist Wei Yang’s invasion.

And as it did, the berserk sea of green fire outside gradually began to settle down.

In the midst of his intense focus, Wei Yang spared a mont to sense his surroundings and sighed in relief.

The Black Sun Burning Heaven Fla had held out through the worst of it.

"Well done, Black Sun. All you need to do now is protect —leave the rest to ."

With that thought, he redirected his full attention to subduing the Life Spirit Fla.

Now was the critical mont.

The true battle—between souls and wills—had officially begun.

Outside...

The raging sea of green fire gradually cald.

The once violent inferno faded into stillness.

The shattered void began to repair itself, space folding and healing as though nothing had happened.

Soon, everything returned to the calm state it had been in before the rampage.

The dark, silent void once again fell into deep stillness.

Fwoosh—

At that mont, a dimd Black Sun burst from the green, liquid-like sea of flas.

The Black Sun Burning Heaven Fla now looked visibly exhausted. Its once brilliant radiance had dimd significantly.

Hovering above the fire sea, it wasted no ti. Without the slightest politeness, it imdiately expanded its domain of black light, forcefully covering the entire area as it began frantically absorbing energy from the flas below to recover.

The Life Spirit Fla’s sea simply continued burning quietly, showing no resistance at all to the Black Sun’s absorption.

The Black Sun wasn’t about to show rcy. It guzzled down energy greedily, one gulp after another.

Since its birth—or, more accurately, since it developed the faintest sense of awareness—it couldn’t rember ever being bullied by another fla like this.

Usually, it was the one doing the bullying—whether it was Green Lotus Core Fla, Wind and Thunder Fury Fla, Fallen Heart Fla, Sea Heart Fla, and more...

As a fla that prided itself on devouring others, when had it ever been humiliated like this?

Every kind of fire—even Pill Lightning—was part of its personal buffet.

If it could eat it, it would.

Call it reckless youth if you want, but when it saw this fifth-ranked Heavenly Fla, it didn’t hesitate at all. It treated the Life Spirit Fla as just another dish on the nu.

Even though this fla’s power clearly surpassed its own.
