After taking that first thunderous strike head-on, Wei Yang took a slow breath, steadying his slightly unsettled dou qi.
He clenched his fist, swept his gaze across the cliff top—now ravaged and battered by the residual shockwaves—then raised his head to look once more at the black clouds overhead and grinned.
"Pill Lightning? I thought it was sothing terrifying. Gave
quite the scare for nothing! So this is all there is?"
As if provoked by Wei Yang’s taunt, the dark clouds began churning even more violently, as though they had been enraged.
Monts later, Zzzzt!—another bolt cracked out, this one twice as thick as the last. It tore from the storm clouds like a silver dragon, streaking toward the earth with a furious roar.
In response—
"Haha!" Wei Yang laughed heartily. As he casually took a few steps back, he raised a finger and pointed upward. "Du Jiao, go!"
ROAR!
A thunderous beastly roar echoed.
BOOM!
The One-Horned Purple Scale Python stomped down with both feet, the ground fracturing beneath it like a spiderweb. Its massive body shot upward like a cannonball, charging straight toward the falling bolt of lightning. A fist slamd out.
The air cannon it launched collided directly with the incoming thunderbolt.
BOOOM—!
A massive flash of silver exploded across the sky like a firework, the light blinding.
The air cannon dispersed in the sa instant.
Yet even after the explosion, a dimd but still potent remnant of the silver lightning continued its descent, stubbornly surging toward the beast.
But the One-Horned Purple Scale Python did not flinch. With no hesitation, it raised its other fist and struck again—this ti directly with its flesh and blood, eting the lightning head-on without any defense.
With an earth-shaking blast, the thunderbolt was annihilated.
But the beast was sent crashing downward like a bolt of living lightning, its body now wrapped in arcs of electricity as it plumted from the sky.
BOOM!
Its feet landed first, smashing into the cliff and creating a massive crater. Shards of stone blasted outward, followed by a shockwave that surged in all directions, cloaked in dust.
Wei Yang flicked his sleeve, effortlessly dispersing the debris and energy that ca his way.
He looked toward the pit and saw the One-Horned Purple Scale Python half-squatting at the bottom, its massive body twitching as countless tiny arcs of silver lightning—like slithering snakes—crawled and danced across its skin.
The beast looked like a walking lightning rod.
"Hey, Du Jiao! Are you okay down there?" Wei Yang raised a brow and barked, "If not, just step back—I’ll handle the rest myself."
"You idiot, who told you to tank it head-on with your body?! Are you stupid? That’s lightning, destruction incarnate! Do you think your flesh and blood can resist it?!"
The beast slowly rose to its feet. Though its massive body still flickered with electric light, it stood tall.
Then it opened its mouth. Its voice was dull and clumsy, but for once, there was a trace of stubbornness in its tone. In a muffled voice, it replied:
"Reporting... master... I-I can. I feel... taking it... is good for ."
"Oh? Good for you?" Wei Yang raised an eyebrow in surprise.
Looking closer, he realized with shock that the beast’s body was absorbing the lightning. The silver arcs coursing across its body were slowly sinking into its skin!
That’s the power of thunder... it’s absorbing it?!
"You... you’re trying to use the lightning to temper your body?!" Wei Yang’s eyes widened in disbelief.
"Yes." The beast nodded.
"You—you’re really that reckless?! Be careful, don’t push too hard. That’s the wrath of heaven you’re dealing with!"
"Okay," the beast nodded again, curt and unwavering.
Just then—
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
After those two bolts were taken head-on, the black clouds grew even more furious.
Silver light surged within the storm. One after another, countless bolts of lightning burst free like a swarm of silver pythons. They tore through the sky, roaring downward—all targeting the One-Horned Purple Scale Python.
The beast tilted its head back, gazing up at the rain of silver serpents falling from the sky. There wasn’t the slightest hint of fear in its eyes.
It let out a thunderous roar—like a rolling drum of war—and with a powerful stomp, launched itself into the air again, charging straight into the lightning storm.
At that mont, the very heavens seed to ignite.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
One thunderclap after another exploded in the sky, never-ending and earth-shaking.
Each blast caused ripples through the fabric of space, trembling the sky itself.
Countless tiny lightning serpents spread out like a web, filling the entire sky.
The air had beco a sea of lightning, dense and terrifying.
Silver thunder poured down in waves, engulfing the earth in a vision of apocalypse. The scene was so overwhelming it stirred a soul-deep dread.
Hooom—
Back on the ground, Wei Yang stood firm, guarding the pill inside the cauldron.
Around him, black flas roared to life, forming a barrier that fended off the countless stray lightning arcs raining down.
"Du Jiao..." he murmured, gazing at the beast who was still mid-air, constantly clashing with the bolts and using its body to endure the baptism of thunder.
That kind of madness and fearlessness... stirred sothing in Wei Yang’s heart.
This magic beast—who had always seed dull, even downright stupid—had long been regarded by Wei Yang as nothing more than a brute force puppet. A living weapon.
And indeed, that had always been the case—Du Jiao had always given off the impression of a creature with no thoughts of its own. It only knew how to brute-force everything and follow orders.
No one would have expected that one day, this "puppet" would reveal another side of itself—one of stubborn will and fearless courage. Even Wei Yang couldn’t help but feel both surprised and impressed.
Only now did he realize he had been neglecting sothing all along—Du Jiao had been recovering far better than he’d assud.
Even though it still hadn’t regained its mories, it clearly had its own consciousness and thoughts. It simply wasn’t good at expressing them or communicating with others.
Unlike Ah Da, who was sharp, clever, and full of ideas.
Buzz—
At that mont, a violent tremor suddenly ca from within his dantian. The Black Sun Burning Heaven Fla flared up, radiating waves of eager intent.
"Hm?" Wei Yang frowned and sent a portion of his focus inward, entering his dantian.
There, within his core, the trembling black sun pulsed violently with a strong sense of desire.
Wei Yang released a ntal ssage: "Black Sun Burning Heaven Fla, what’s wrong?"
Buzz, buzz, buzz—
As if hearing his inquiry, the Black Sun grew even more excited, surging with intense emotional waves.
Wei Yang quickly understood its aning.
Eat! Eat! Eat! I want to eat...
He froze.
"You want to... eat lightning? You’re a Heavenly Fla. That’s lightning. What does it have to do with you? Why are you so eager to get involved?" Wei Yang was speechless.
Buzz, buzz—Heat... energy... want to eat... eat...
"Heat? You’re talking about energy? Lightning energy? That’s your business now?" Wei Yang looked half annoyed, half amused. "You glutton... you want to eat everything! That’s lightning, you know? Its power’s not even weaker than yours. You really think you can digest that?"
But thinking about it more carefully, there actually was so logic to it.
Thunder Fla, thunder fla...
After all, the term itself implied a connection—lightning and fire did share similarities in their attributes.
Lightning typically embodied the most pure, masculine, and aggressive energy.
In fact, there was even a Heavenly Fla known as the Nine Dragon Lightning Fla, which was a fusion of lightning and fire.
Buzz, buzz—Eat... want to eat... energy... hungry... eat...
The Black Sun Burning Heaven Fla continued to cry out with desperate hunger.
"...Well then, if you really want to eat, go ahead." After a mont of hesitation, Wei Yang finally nodded slowly.
Letting it try might not be a bad thing. Maybe there’d even be a surprise gain?
If the Black Sun could digest the power of lightning, then he’d no longer have to worry about how to keep feeding it Heavenly Fla energy to grow.
After all, where would he find that many rare flas to devour?
If lightning energy worked... Wei Yang might just wake up laughing in his dreams.
The thought made his eyes flicker with a hint of anticipation.
With a single thought—
Fwoooosh—
Black flas instantly surged up around him, skyrocketing several ters high in the blink of an eye. The flas roared into the sky, expanding outward at an astonishing pace.
In the blink of an eye, the black flas spread like a sea of fire, consuming half the sky.
Countless arcs of fragnted lightning, those tiny silver serpents that had scattered everywhere, were imdiately engulfed and devoured by the sea of black fire.
From afar, the sky had turned into an eerie two-tone scene—black and silver.
Black fla on one side, silver lightning on the other.
This was the very definition of heavenly lightning igniting earthly fire. The scene had beco even more terrifying.
A true collision of thunder and fla!
The Black Sun Burning Heaven Fla was a Heavenly Fla.
And the silver lightning was the power of destruction, the embodint of the will of heaven and earth.
Their powers were equally matched.
Two forces that symbolized absolute devastation, now colliding head-on—the results could only be imagined.
