I must be stupid, I must be losing my mind because I definitely am, did I just tell him to kiss ? Emma, the very shy girl told a guy to kiss her? Where did all that bravery co from and why didn’t I regret what I said. My heart drilled in my chest at each breaking second, awaiting whatever might happen, what will happen? Does he want to kiss too? What if he doesn’t?

"Is that what you want?" he asked in a low sensual tone that got my heartbeat quickened, his words were affecting in sinful ways that my body couldn’t handle, just what exactly was he doing to ?

"Because I’m gonna give you just that...", My lips went apart but the words hung in my throat. "...Emma" his hand moved to my cheek and his thumb slowly rubbed my plump lips and I felt a shiver strike my spine. It was electrifying and I didn’t want it to stop, I didn’t want it to end.

"Y-Yes"

I saw his lips go wide in a smirk, his hand on my cheek moved to the back of my neck, all the way I couldn’t stop my body from shaking, his other hand was firm on my waist keeping in place. He leaned and now our noses were touching, my breathing increased and my heart slamd louder than ever, at this point I was very certain he would hear it, I was unable to stop it, the anticipation thrilling my body was ardent as I waited for his lips to press against mine, I really wanted it to and everything was on a slow play, just when will his lips et mine?

I was just about to find out when his lips were inches away from mine and I closed my eyes, but then my fucking phone rang.

Like the spell was broken and the hot air was back to chilly and the contact was lost and my senses were back, I snapped out of it as I pulled away from his hold, my leveled gaze on my feet and my breath unstable, what just happened? Was Dace just about to kiss ?

"Emma"

I snapped my eyes back to his, they were intense and almost unreadable. "Your phone"

"R-Right" I stamred clumsily reaching for it, it was my mom!

"It’s my mom" I looked at him, and a smile found his lips.

"Answer it"

I gulped with a nod. "H-H-Hey mom"

"Hey, sweetie... are you okay? Your voice sounds odd"

"I-I’m fine I was... sleeping when you called" my eyes darted to Dace who watched with amusent.

"Oh sorry for waking you up, I just wanna hear your voice, how are you, are you okay? How’s school?"

"Mom it has just been 2 days since we last talked" I sat on my bed.

"Yeah I know, this is torture, I just miss you"

"Mom, work"

"I know I know"

"Don’t worry, I’m fine, I have friends now as I told you before" my eyes darted to Dace who was now seated on my bed, just at the edge. "Interesting friends’’

"Oh... are we talking about boys?!"

I blushed hard. "N-No mom, Jesus! I didn’t say that!"

"Oh co on let’s talk boys", it was hard not to miss the excitent in her tone, it was like she was waiting for this her whole life, maybe she was. I darted my eyes back to Dace, my phone wasn’t on speaker so I was safe right? Then why was he smirking at ?

"I really need to go to bed now, so tired"

"Oh honey co on" she pouts like a child and I couldn’t help the chuckle that left .

"Yes mom really," I said in amusent and she sighed in defeat.

"Okay okay, good night sweetie"

"Good night mom"

"Love you"

"Love you too"

I dropped the phone, sighing, my eyes back to my visitor. I knew my mom couldn’t possibly imagine that her daughter, who she knew as innocent and shy, had a guy in her room at this hour. I was certain she wouldn’t picture such, after all, I’m Emma, the isolated girl who didn’t like to fit in or make friends. Was it just or was I breaking from that shell in the most alarming way?

"Your mom sounds like an interesting woman" he mused, his eyes skimming through the book. Yes, that book! My eyes went wide. "Founding Juneau?"

"Y-Yes it is for a test in school"

His eyes pinned down. "I attend the sa classes as you Emma, the history teacher never talks about the founding families, only the economic developnt, in books at the school library"

I bit my lip, caught in my little lie wasn’t exactly what I was counting on.

"Where did you get this?" He asked, suddenly curious.

"At a bookstore" I shrugged, he was silent so I bet he wanted to know more. "Just across the street"

"That bookstore," he said like he was familiar with it. "And she just gave you this?"

I nodded wondering where he was going with it. And did he just say she? I never ntioned the gender of the librarian but I shrugged it off, this was his town, and he must know people.

"Well, whatever you pulled off was enough to convince her that you needed this. Tell Emma, what were you hoping to find?"

"About you" I paused quickly covering my face, now I sound like a fucking stalker. I heard him chuckled then his hand took mine away from my face, I was still a blushing ss.

"You should have just asked , Emma"

"Would you have told ?" I intoned. "I feel everyone is keeping things away from "

"Tell , what do you wanna know? I said I would answer your questions but only if it’s safe"

It was the second ti he has used the word ’safe’. "You say safe like it’s sothing dangerous, you’re not dangerous Dace"

I noticed his pupils dilated, even in the dim light in my room and I started to rethink what I just said.

"I’m danger, Emma, but not to you"
