Chapter 84: Safe
"You should sleep, Emma"
My body tautened when he spoke after a few minutes of silence, we both fibbed on the bed, facing each other but my gaze found his chest more interesting right now, I was too skittish to et his eyes, not after what just happened, not that I didn’t like it, I loved it! It’s just... I can’t stop myself from blushing too hard, and my heartbeat from battering in my chest.
The mory of what transpire replayed in my peripheral vision like a rewind, I may have assud it all a dream, but the ache from my neck and right nipple proves
wrong, it ached in a pleasurable shiver and then slight pain, in between pain and pleasure, I couldn’t pinpoint which, but I knew each ti I felt it I got shivers that swam down to my core.
"Hey" his hand to my chin to make
look him in the eye and I blushed the most luminous red.
A smile on his lips, the way he looked at , was quite enthusiastic, I blushed more, my ears even hurt all this blushing.
"I ca here because I want you to get so sleep..." He began and I detected the hint of concern in his tone, he really just cared about my sleep, I told him I was okay with the protection spell and all but that didn’t convince him. "... even though so unplanned things happened right after"
I blushed further and he snickered, I was forced to level my gaze but he made
look at him once again, pining
with his gaze.
"W-W-Will you be here?"
His eyes narrowed at my question. "Of course, baby, I will"
"You know... I have never slept with anyone except my mom"
He raised an eyebrow at my words.
"You’re an exception, you’re the second aside from her"
"Then I’m honored"
A smile found my lips and I snuggled close to him, he welcod my gesture by spreading out his arm so that my head rested on his chest, I thought his body would be too hard for
to be on but I was wrong, he was comfortable and welcoming which only made my heart flutter, the drastic warmth was enough to keep all the cold away.
I felt like I was in the arms of a bear, covering
from all potential danger, I couldn’t stop the smile on my lips, and I couldn’t wrap my head around the fact that he was here, with , in bed and he would also be here when I fall asleep.
"I was worried you would be cold too"
"I’m not anymore," I said with a smile on my lips. "Because of you" I mumbled, my voice sounded faded as I let myself drift, I wasn’t scared of falling asleep anymore, with him here, his presence, his wonderful scent that emitted off his body, so tasty and sweet that I felt like licking him from head to toes but I chastised myself from doing such, I was more imrsed on the sleep coming to , that was when I felt him take off my glasses, but I was too weak to do anything, he placed a kiss on my head.
"Goodnight baby, I’m right here"
That was all I needed to get a peaceful sleep.

I drew on my breath like I had just resurfaced from the depth of the water. I took so ti to collect myself, as well as air, a minute ago I felt suffocating but now all the air was given to
and I was desperate to take it all in.
Finally taking as much as I could and breathing normally, settling myself down, I was able to take note of my surroundings, I knew Dace would have heard my breathing, but I couldn’t feel him nor see him and this was definitely not my room.
I was in the woods, and the realization struck
hard, oh no another nightmare! I was up on my feet, looking around the dark forest as I drew on my breathing snappily.
Vanessa said it was okay to sleep! But this didn’t seem like it, I had to wake as fast as I could before I would see that vampire again. I didn’t want to, the sheer thought of it made my mind leverage with several frightening thoughts.
I tweaked myself.
"Wake up Emma, wake up!" I kept pinching myself as I closed my eyes, it hurt so bad but I didn’t care... I have to wake up.

up, please! I have to get away from here.
"That’s not gonna happen, dear"
I gasped, twinkling my eyes open and t with familiar features before , it took

"Y-You," I said with wide eyes.
A faint smile found her lips.
"Hello... Emma Adams"
It was that librarian, it was her! The sa tan-skinned beauty she was, short brown curly hair and brown eyes.
"Y-You"
She giggled. "Yes ..." she shrugged.
"You gave
that book knowing I can’t have it, you tried to curse ," I said in a faint tone but she seed to hear because she smiled, she fucking smiled.
"It’s not what you think, Emma" But then she paused, worry flushed her features and I almost cringed seeing it, like why would she give a damn?
"You’re shaking, you’re afraid," she said with a mystery. "What scares you, Emma Adams?"
"Y-You" I answered in a dim tone not daring to take my eyes off her, I was afraid to even blink.
"That isn’t entirely true, you’re afraid of sothing else"
"That’s because you jinxed , I don’t know what you did but..." My breath was shaky and I tried to compose myself. "... I-I-I have been having painful n-nightmares, seeing that vampire over and over again because of you"
A frown found her features, and she gave a look of perplexity. "Why would I do that, Emma?"
