Of all the things I was willing to avoid was... this. My parents coming back just when I hoped they wouldn’t, Emilia I can tolerate... but them? Was a whole different scenario, this was terrible timing, and worse they had already sniffed her out. Emma has a very strong scent, like a strong fragrance covering the entire house, I needn’t bother but now THEY were here.

And what made the situation more intense was my dad. He wasn’t exactly loving when it ca to humans, none of us were but he was more of a difficult level, when it ca to humans, he runs cold and hot at the sa ti.

He walked swiftly and robust, standing beside my mom, dressed in a fancy dark red suit, matching my mom’s slender red gown, making them both the matching couple. My dad always gave this dominating aura, whenever he was around, the re air grew tense... the rest of us could feel the power slipping out of his body. I may be ripped but my dad was far more ripped than I was, but we both challenged height.

And more I was my dad’s actual copy when it ca to looks, except for his hair he kept gelled and always perfect since I can rember. His large hand settled on my mom’s waist in a tight grip, like steel, like they haven’t spent all the week together, they were always like this.

"NO!" I snapped louder than I expected. "Emma is not a pet" I add with gritted teeth, with a more clear tone.

A smirk found his lips but I couldn’t tell if it was pleasant or not, but I grew up knowing this... expect anything from him. Two steps with hands in his trousers he was before .

"If she’s not your pet, then what?"

"His lover," Emilia shrugged.

He chuckled deeply, the sound circling the hall.

"Elias" mom said his na with a sigh.

"Darling... if you knew of this why didn’t you talk with him?" he mused.

"I didn’t know he would go as far as dating her" she clarified.

"Tell , son, does she bear your mark?" he asked but then gave the answer himself. "No, because humans do not, and hence she is not your female, I hope you understand that"

"I... do," I said in a low voice.

"But you don’t seem to agree with that at the mont," he says, tilting his head to the side, studying .

Well, he was right about that fact, I didn’t give a shit about it, all I knew and wanted was Emma.

to say those words, he tapped two fingers covered in rings on his lips. "Invite her for dinner"

"That’s not necessary dad, she’s leaving"

"Now that is rude... dinner" he intoned in a more firm tone. "I like to see this... human of yours" he tapped on my shoulder whirling and walking away, only the sounds of his shoes echoed in the silence that filled the rest of us.

"Yeah fuck" Emilia said. "Let’s hope she doesn’t get scared to death, dining with werelions"

My eyes darted to my mother, she rubbed her temples. "What were you thinking? Does she know about us?"

"Well, this one got in and was after my girl," I growled, as the mory replayed in my head putting

on edge once again.

My mom blinks like she heard wrong. "Your girl? So you’re claiming a human now?"

"He has been like that ever since, mom"

She sighed heavily. "That is another violation Dace, not just by including her in all this but..." she paused. "DATING her" she rubbed her temples once again. "Now have you-"

"No!" I knew exactly what she was about to ask, she’s human and they should rember that.

"Not the answer I expected" she cleared her throat.

"He’s tornting himself," Emilia says.

"Tell , Dace, why her?"

I have been asking myself that particular question since the very mont I set my eyes on her.
