Chapter 394: The Pride Council {2}

"What I plan to do with the Countess has nothing to do with you" I pinned him down with my gaze suddenly feeling pissed, my aura unleashing and taking over the atmosphere.

Why am I angry? I don’t like being questioned. This plan was mine and none of them have ever stepped up to get rid of our enemies for generations. Werelions knew sothing above all, their territory, and as long as you don’t ss with that they can stay occupied without interfering. I always believed a werelion isn’t just about territory or domination ever since I knew words.

My father taught

that too... drilled it in my head in my teachings, I suppose that is why he went against every law and made

what I am even if he lost his life in the process.

"Nonsense, Alpha Dace, whatever decision you make has to involve the council, that is how we operate" Noah Dominguez cut in and I knew no doubt he was the very reason this eting was called with such urgency, he pulled the trigger and I followed. But I knew why he was here...

I directed my gaze to him, the air tense and I spotted beads of sweat against his features from my piercing gaze, but the man managed to keep his poker face. I have known this man all my life, he’s a close friend to my father, but during my father’s execution, I saw his true colors.

Sotis the ones closest to you are poisonous.

"Are you here for my plan or because of your daughter?" I deadpanned, taking slow drags from my cigar.

He huffed. "Everything has importance doesn’t it?" He mused but I could tell there was an edge in his tone.

Normally I would have snorted ’In-laws’ but he isn’t one yet.

"Your rage towards the vampire clan is sothing we appreciate. You’re the first Alpha in centuries that finally has the balls to put our enemies to the ground, even your father or your forefather didn’t think of it" Kael said keeping his amber eyes on . A round brown cigar between his lips.

"Try having a DNA so aggressive that you thirst for nothing but blood"

??гeewe??n??vel

The need to destroy, see the very contents of red, my hunger. It has haunted

for five fucking years and there is no end to it.

"You bla this on your DNA, Alpha?"

I darted my eyes to the little voice. Diana Crest, the youngest of the council who took over the seat of her father after his untily demise, is only 10 years old but in my case, I consider her the wisest amongst the n here and with the purest of heart. Her light brunette hair was wrapped in two distinctive buns, making her childlike features more prominent but when you stare deeper into her honey-brown eyes you can tell she’s only young in appearance.

Her father was born with a weak gene and her mother died giving birth to her, so she has been trained her whole life to take the seat of House Crest, one of the branch families. She probably has more brains than I did.

"DNA should not be blad for what you are" she adds keeping her soft honey-brown eyes on mine, a smile on her lips. "Even though your father betrayed the clan and took it upon himself to rewrite your genes... that doesn’t make it what you’re, what you’re is a version of yourself you embraced and nurtured yourself"

My lips twitched for a smile but I withheld. Not everyday soone tells

I’m a monster by birth. But I guess I have always been... I rember myself being a calm boy as I grew up, but my animalistic nature and my werelion were a beast in a little cage

"Wise as always Diana... but we’re not here to talk about his genes" Noah cut in. "Yes we gathered here to know your plan which we know you have under perfect control"

"We’re here consigning the arrangent, an arrangent that will secure your bloodline"

"He has a sister," Kael said.

"Yes he does... but as our wise Diana said. His gene is a perfect extension we haven’t seen in centuries, a bloodline we must be secure"

"His arrangent to Isabella," Boris said.

Of course, that will be the reason.

"I have already agreed to take her as my wife, what else do you fucking want?" I said placing my burnt-out cigar on the ashtray on the table.

"Yes she’s your fiance but there hasn’t been a formal introduction yet"

Ha, that...

"Then what are we waiting for? We’re here we might as well get on with it" Boris said.

I rubbed my temples, knowing there was no use prolonging this engagent. "Fine. I will set a date"

"Wonderful," Noah said, smirking.

"But you don’t expect

to accommodate all of you in my humble abode"

"We ca prepared, Alpha, no need to worry about hospitality" Kael interjected.

"I wasn’t inford of this," Diana said, looking between all of us.

Her caregiver must do a better job keeping her inford on matters than dragging her across the continent for a eting.

Having that thought in mind I shot my gaze to the man standing behind her with dark hair covered in white with a receding hairline.

"Forgive

for my lack of information" he clearly relayed that to his young miss but he kept his gaze on . His finger fidgeting.

I directed my gaze back to the young miss. "Don’t worry, my hospitality extent only for you"

She smiled cutely at my words.

"House Dominguez, House Windward, House Yearwood and Crest. Anything more importance for this eting than talking about arranged marriage"

"That’s why we’re here"

"Good... then let’s talk business"

This is gonna be a long long eting.

~

"Noah must be smirking behind my back right now," I said, taking off my suit jacket and dropping it at the coat hanger.

"He was bound to make a move"

"Of course, he wants to join the houses so badly he can fucking call a eting" I rolled my sleeve around my arms. "It is always power"

"Power is everything"

I nodded in agreent, but sotis I wonder if it’s enough. I reached for the decanter, turning a drink into the glass.

"Prepare a guest room for Diana"

"Yes Alpha" he paused. "And the date?"

"They already have a date"

"What?"

"Didn’t you see Dominguez? He was beaming across the room when I said yes, he planned a eting he can as well plan a fucking date"

Singe snorted a laugh.

"It’s not funny"

"Yes, it’s not... just"

"Just what?" I said over the glass close to my lips.

"When the first eting was held about your marriage you weren’t as opposed as you are now"

I raised an eyebrow.

"Do you still wish to marry Isabella?"

I dropped the drink and took a pack of cigarettes, taking one with my teeth.

"An Alpha makes sacrifices"

"Did you ever think about having a Female, the one who bears your mark?"

"I passed the age"

"Yes... I ant before"

I paused. "Not really, I grew up seeing how my mother and father loved each other like the last day on earth. I don’t know what it ans to have soone who bears your soul or your mark. Having a female won’t make

run a clan better would it?"
