Chapter 217: His Tranquil Presence

Why the heck can’t I read his thoughts? That sa question kept pondering in my very brain, I was distracted by them, and I hated getting distracted... I hate getting fixated on sothing to the point I focus on that particular thing, I prefer my mind to set loose to various explorations rather than worrying about a particular guy I don’t know. The only person that has sparked my interest like this is Emma... when she first ca to town, although a quiet thing funny she sparked my interest, that was because of her closeness, and her unusual intoxicating scent.

"Emma"

She faced

with a mouth full of grilled cheese before she swallowed down. I took a seat beside her. "That guy" I nudged my head and she turned in the direction I referred to. I noticed her eyes widen. "You know him?" She faced

back and she looked nervous now, I wonder why, she looked like a kid that didn’t wanna get caught.

"Um yeah," she nodded, adjusting her round glasses that fit her features perfectly. "H-He’s the new guy from our class"

"The new guy huh?" I mused darting my eyes to him, He sat alone, ears covered with his headset, casually eating his lunch. I couldn’t help but stare... watching as he brought the loaded bread to his mouth, chewing and I followed every bit of action... when his adam’s apple moved when he took a swallow, and when his tongue rolled out to take a lick on his lightly pale lips, I pondered how that tongue would feel against my body and I shivered just from it, great now I’m horny than ever, I never bothered about my sexual desires before, yeah I have been with guys before to settle my heat but it was sothing I kept to myself because of my overprotective brother, he thinks he’s the only one who has a problem with his heat well I do too.

"What’s his na?" I asked without taking my eyes off my new attraction and mystery.

"G-Grayson Yeager"

"Grayson Yeager," I mumbled.

"W-Why do you ask?" At Emma’s question, I turned to the curious girl, I leaned on the table.

"Earlier in the hall I bumped into him, and I can’t read his thoughts"

She froze like a nightmare. "Y-You can’t?"

"Yes, and I have never experienced that before except with you, he’s a mystery,"

"W-Well maybe so humans are like that"

"Hmph! Maybe... just like you and then you turned out to be a half-witch. But..." I darted my eyes back to him. "I didn’t get a whiff of any scent off him, so so strange" I place my hand on my jaw watching him. He looked like he was the only one in my eyesight now.

"B-But Dace said he could catch his scent"

"What?" I turned my eyes back to her. Wait a minute just this ans he’s the sa guy Dace told

about? Of course! No wonder the na sounded familiar, so he’s the guy Emma’s invested in, that’s interesting.

"I heard you’re curious about this Grayson guy and I see why now" I mused and she gulped. I narrowed my eyes, why does she keep getting more nervous?

"I have to use the restroom" she rose to her feet and rushed out. Okay, that was unusual, it looked like she was keeping sothing. I was about to go after her and demand what but my mystery guy was off his table and so damn urge to follow him overwheld , okay what the heck is going on with my body?

I can’t even answer the question because I was already following him at a asured distance. I was right... this guy has no scent just like Dace said, is that even possible? Or were so humans just like that?

I watched as he walked out of the school building to the garden area. This was still lunch period so so students were in the area, either on a bench or with a group of friends doing whatever with their phones. But my mystery guy walked to a lonely bench under a tree in a more spacy area giving off its leaves, making the whole area filled with dried-off leaves. It was autumn after all.

I was behind a wall as I watched him drawing sothing in a sketchbook. He draws too? Okay now I was more fascinated than ever, I ignored all my inner thoughts to walk away and walk to him rather, my heels clicked on the small platform as I approached him. That was when he raised his head leisurely and our eyes connected, I stopped because my body couldn’t move anymore. The sight of him leaning against the bench and his forest green eyes locked on mine wasn’t exactly a view I wanted to end.

The spark his eyes gave to my body was sothing I have never experienced before. I was always warm-blooded but his eyes gave

a newfound one, and it was... comforting?

I opened my mouth to speak and at least break the silent air but his eyes were back to his sketchbook and I frown, okay that was annoying. I cleared my throat and a sigh escaped him before looking over .

"What?" he asked like he was irritated now. I pondered how he heard my throat clearing when he clearly had a headset covering his ears. I knew so humans have sharp hearing, maybe he does.

"Um-" I paused. This was so unlike ... to be loss of words to use because I have never been put in such a situation of having to approach a guy, I an any guy would crave my attention, I’m proud of the looks I have and I never felt inferior whatsoever so I always knew I have the beauty to charm any guy but this particular one over here doesn’t seem too fazed by it, it’s like he saw

as so sort of nuisance and it hurt...

It was quiet... very quiet with him, I didn’t hear his thoughts and it okay? Because hearing the thoughts of the guys I have been with was sort of annoying, trust

lusty thoughts were a nuisance for

especially when I sorted peace that mont. But with Grayson it was quiet and it got

curious about what thoughts he had of .

And I ca to realize another thing, with Grayson here I can’t hear other thoughts, it was like his presence nullifies them.
