Chapter 146: Unforeseen Bloodline {2}

EMMA

~

I shakily put on my glasses before wiping the cold substance that trailed from my nose with my thumb. I almost had a panic attack when I saw my blood, the crimson substance before my eyes. My breath picked up in pitch and my body quivered, I hated seeing my blood... any blood, right now it even gave

nausea.

I quickly wiped it off my handkerchief, making sure it was all cleaned off so that I wouldn’t see it anymore. I cald my breathing as I put down the book, making sure it was back in place, rising to my feet and treading out of the garden, hugging myself. My elbow still hurt from that fall, and my body still ached from whatever I experienced. I wasn’t so sure I could attend the rest of the classes, I really needed to rest my head or I might faint.

~

"Emma"

I groaned, flicking my eyes open, not completely just halfway.

"Oh don’t mind ... I was worried, I didn’t know you were back in the room"

"Carly?" I mumbled recognizing her voice.

"Yeah it’s ... don’t mind

go back to sleep"

"What ti is it?"

"6"

I groaned, resting my head back on the pillow.

"You okay? You don’t sound so good"

"I’m fine I just have a headache"

"Shouldn’t you go to the infirmary?" her voice sounded worried now and I didn’t want that.

"Don’t worry I will sleep it off" I mumbled, already desperate to go back to sleep.

"Okay, sleep well"

"Mm," I covered myself more with my blanket, curling like a ball beneath it, and shut my eyes before sighing deeply, allowing sleep to take over my senses because that was the only thing that made

feel light and not heavy like I felt earlier. And the ache stopped.

Just like how my dream ended before Carly called

I was back to that exact sa mont. In a library reading a book, the words are written in green.

~

I stood before the iron cup before , my eyes focusing on its stainless tal, I knew what I had to do but I wasn’t so sure I could do it. I gulped hard as I leisurely raised my hand to it, I exhaled sharply. Please let this work, or else my effort would all be for nothing and nothing hurts better than that.

I said a spell, making sure I pronounced the two words accordingly with no mistake, it sounded foreign to my ears but I knew I had no choice but to get used to it, I must be speaking Latin or sothing. It was really hard repeating the language over and over again, I felt stupid because the cup wouldn’t budge as planned or give

any hope that I wasn’t making a fool of myself.

My unwavering eyes on the cup, secretly begging for it to just move an inch or sothing.

"Focus on your pronunciation... the tone, the rhythm, let it guide you"

This wasn’t working for

at all. I turned to Carly beside , the water in the bow was slightly waving by following the words she speaks to it, and I noticed a satisfied smile on her lips. I really wish I could smile at my own accomplishnt but I wasn’t so sure that would happen right now. Focus Emma!

I faced my challenge back but it still remained like fruitless work.

"Speak to that object... command it... give it control, it will answer you" he further explained circling the rest of us each focusing on their elent, everyone seed to be getting a hang of it except .

Mister Colton, the very teacher of this particular class, just had to stand right in front of my table and watch

make a fool of myself.

"Sothing wrong Emma?" he mumbled to

making sure I was the only one who heard it, I was thankful for that.

"It’s not working," I said, still trying to concentrate on the object in a futile attempt.

"The words"

I drifted my gaze to him and t with his brown orbs. "Lassōmi Vibrèa?"

I bit my lip afterward, I wasn’t even sure I pronounced the words right, maybe that was what I was doing wrong?

I noticed a sparkle in his eyes and a smile stretched his lips, giving a nod to his following words. "Good," I think my chest swelled with hope even if it was for a split second, and my nerves settled. But that ans I’m pronouncing the spell right.

"You pronounce it clearly, very verbally if you ask " he conceded and I exhaled in slight relief. "Lassōmi Vibrèa is two words of command to make your elent respond to you, in order words ’Move’. Even though others say the sa spell, only their elent will answer that call" he further explained.

"T-Then why isn’t it working for ?" I was forced to ask because judging from him I got the spell right, what else could be wrong?

"Aside from getting the pronunciation right, focus on pouring your energy into it, like you are trying to wield that word as a weapon. Spells are indeed weapons"

"O-Okay" I mumbled with a nod, facing my object once again. Just pour so energy into it right? Use the words as a weapon. " A weapon" I mumbled before I cleared my throat giving it a try once again. "Lassōmi Vibrèa, Lassōmi Vibrèa, Lassōmi Vibrèa" I chanted, my entire focus on it, and my eyes pleading for it to just move or budge even.

"Lassōmi Vibrèa, Lassōmi Vibrèa, Lassōmi Vibrèa"

"Emma"

"Lassōmi Vibrèa"

"Emma"

I snapped my eyes back to him, he gave

a soft smile and shook his head. I knew exactly what he ant, it wasn’t working at ALL.

I just nodded watching as he walked away.

"Alright everyone, done for today, assignnt... spells, 16 different spells relating to your elents, think of it as a pop quiz"

"You good?"

I shifted my gaze Carly, I just forced a smile nodding.

"Understood?"

It was a grumble from the others as ’Okay’. Everyone was already exiting the class and I just settled on my seat.

"Wanna grab lunch?"

"Later... I will just stay here for a while"

"Okay" she gave

a smile as she exited with the others. My eyes scanned everyone, I didn’t see Henry, Miles, or Owen, seems like they weren’t in this class, must have to do with them being seniors.

I exhaled sharply facing my cup, today was a total failure. I looked around and the class was empty. Maybe I should give it a try.

I shook my head, rising to my feet. "Just forget it, Emma," I told myself but the more I looked at that cup the more I wanted to try again, so I bit my bottom lip.

I cleared my throat pulling so strands of my strawberry blond hair behind my ear, taking off my glasses leisurely. I took a deep breath as I opened my eyes. I stretched out my hand to the cup, focusing my entire gaze on it.

"Lassōmi Vibrèa" I began chanting the words, suddenly I noticed my eyes turned to that hue of green again, nevertheless I just continued, hoping to get the result I desperately craved for.

"Lassōmi Vibrèa," I didn’t stop because I didn’t feel the need to do so, because I could feel the surge within , I could feel my fingertips tingling as well as my body, I could feel the power from my words, like energy as I spoke to that object, it felt like I wasn’t just reciting re words.

I gasped with a smile on my lips when the cup floated by unseen energy, I giggled, I was doing it. I raised my head following the cup, it was just at the base of my palm but wasn’t touching it. Slightly rotating... I was actually doing magic!

"Emma?"

I twirled to the mister Colton who just walked into class.

"It’s working," I said excitedly but he didn’t seem too happy about that. I wonder why.

"Emma" he began in a calm tone

"W-What?"

"Look around"

By his words I did and a surprised gasp left . The chairs, tables, candles, bowl of water, rocks, books, everything in the classroom was floating.

"I-I’m doing this?" I asked with a scared look in my eyes.

"Emma..." he took slow steps towards

as if he didn’t want to scare

well too late because I was already scared.

Suddenly the windows started vibrating.

"Emma, you need to take control!"

"I-I-I can’t it’s just-" I held my head when a sharp pain found

there and I groaned. The quavering sound of the window glass increased almost like it would co apart.

It got even harder to control, everything felt harder to grasp and my head was splitting, I was forced to hold onto it firmly like my life depended on it.

The whooshing of wind blew around , realizing it was every instrunt in the class spinning. Whatever this was, I just wanted it to stop. I shut my eyes tightly, I could hear mister Colton but his words were fading, my body split in pain and my inwards were twisting.
