Chapter 13: Chapter 13: Yes, I Will Sleep With You
"Send
the coordinates of the drop-off location. Now."
"Right away, Boss."
The call ended with a click. Matteo stared at the dark screen of his phone, his thoughts turning quickly.
He turned toward the young man lounging on the bed, the companion who had been arranged for him earlier.
"You can leave," he said coldly. "My n will settle you."
The man looked surprised, but he dressed quickly and rushed out.
After the man left, Matteo stood there for a mont.
He had just told Mark that Adrian wasn’t special, that he wasn’t attractive. Yet the thought of soone else making him smile like that left a cold knot in his chest.
"How dare you?" he murmured to the empty room, his voice trembling with insulted pride. "How dare you reject
and then run straight to soone else? To smile for them?"
He let out a harsh laugh, pacing the room like a caged predator. "You’re nothing but a discarded, store-bought teddy bear, Adrian. It’s not like you’re so masterpiece. You look like a damn cartoon."
He grabbed the edge of the dresser, gripping it hard.
"You should feel honored that soone like , soone at the top of the food chain, is even looking at a ss like you."
He ran a hand through his hair, his breathing uneven. His phone chid with a new ssage, the address from the driver.
The cold mask of the Don settled back over his face. He lifted his phone and called his personal driver.
"Change of plans," he said, his voice low and controlled. "Get the car ready. Now."
"Understood, Boss," the driver replied imdiately.
Matteo walked into his walk-in closet and dressed quickly. He pulled off his loungewear and stepped into a tailored charcoal suit that fit him perfectly.
Within minutes, he was crossing the foyer, his long black coat moving behind him as he walked. His thoughts were already far away, at the estate where Adrian was, smiling for soone who wasn’t him.
When Matteo reached the ground floor, Tony noticed the urgency in his steps.
"Where are you rushing to?" Tony asked, frowning slightly. "Is everything okay?"
Matteo didn’t answer.
Harry stepped forward, noticing the tension in the air. "Boss, the eting with Luca is scheduled for noon."
Matteo didn’t slow down. "We’re making a stop first," he said, his eyes fixed on the entrance.
Tony fell into step beside him. "Mat, I’m talking to you."
Still, Matteo said nothing.
The heavy mahogany doors swung open as he stepped outside into the crisp morning air. A line of black SUVs waited in the driveway, their engines already running.
Matteo walked straight to the lead vehicle. Before getting in, he pulled out his phone and handed it to Harry.
"This is the location," he said. "We stop there first. After that, we continue to the eting with Luca."
"Understood, Boss."
Matteo slid into the back seat while Harry settled into the front passenger seat beside the driver.
The convoy ford quickly—Matteo’s car in the center, bodyguards in the car ahead and behind.
"Drive," Matteo ordered.
The engines roared as the convoy sped out of the estate gates, heading straight toward Adrian’s location.
When they arrived, the SUVs stopped along the quiet road outside the private estate. Matteo remained seated inside the car while his bodyguards stepped out, spreading out around the vehicles.
The driver who had dropped Adrian off earlier approached the car.
The window rolled down from the driver’s side.
"Boss," he said respectfully. "Adrian is still inside the house. He hasn’t co out yet."
Matteo gave a small nod.
Inside the house, Adrian had no idea what was happening outside.
He had co straight there at the request of his assistant, Kate, to et a high-end client at her private residence.
Kate had arrived earlier to prepare everything they would need. When Adrian arrived, the client herself ca to the gate to bring him inside to save ti, while Kate stayed back to arrange the materials.
The work took hours.
Outside the estate, Matteo waited the entire ti.
Finally, the session ended. As they were preparing to leave, a house servant hurried in, looking alard.
"Ma’am, sothing is happening at the gate," she said breathlessly. "Ard n and several black cars are blocking the entrance."
Adrian felt a faint prickle of unease, but he pushed the feeling aside. He wasn’t expecting anyone, certainly not a small army.
The client walked him outside toward the driveway where Kate’s car was parked.
But the mont Adrian stepped out of the estate gates, his eyes landed on the black SUVs.
And the n standing beside them.
His chest tightened instantly.
He knew exactly who they belonged to.
"Please go back inside," Adrian told his client quickly.
The lady looked at the cars again, confused, but nodded and stepped away.
Adrian tried to ignore the vehicles and headed straight toward Kate’s car.
But two bodyguards stepped forward and stopped him.
"Our boss is waiting for you," one of them said.
Kate stared, her eyes wide with fear. "Adrian, who are these people?"
Adrian forced a quick smile.
"It’s just... a difficult client," Adrian said quickly, his mind racing. "Take the supplies to the studio, Kate. I’ll et you there later. Everything is fine, go!"
Kate looked at him carefully, clearly worried.
"Are you sure?"
"I’m fine," Adrian said.
After a mont, she nodded and got into her car.
Adrian waited until she drove away before walking toward the black SUV.
A bodyguard opened the door for him.
Adrian slid into the back seat.
Matteo was sitting inside.
The door shut.
The car imdiately began to move.
Adrian’s hands tightened into fists.
He was furious, but he didn’t even know where to start.
Why the hell was Matteo here again?
Before Adrian could speak, Matteo’s voice broke the silence.
"Who was the lady who ca out with you?"
Adrian turned his head slowly.
He didn’t answer. Instead, he asked coldly,
"Why do you keep following
around?"
Matteo looked at him calmly.
"What do you want from ?"
Matteo didn’t hesitate. "Sleep with . That’s it."
The bluntness of it made Adrian’s jaw tighten. "That’s it." Adrian thought.
He stared straight ahead, his hand slowly curling into a fist as he tried to contain the anger building inside him.
"If I sleep with you," Adrian asked quietly, forcing the words past the tightness in his throat, "will you finally stop following ?"
Matteo didn’t answer imdiately. Instead, he studied Adrian’s face for a long mont before speaking.
"First answer my question," he said calmly. "Who is the woman that ca out with you?"
Adrian inhaled slowly, trying to steady himself. "She’s a client."
Matteo leaned back slightly against the seat, his gaze darkening. "So you went there to see her naked?"
The jealousy in his tone was unmistakable.
Adrian refused to respond to that. Instead, he repeated the only thing that mattered to him.
"If I sleep with you," he said again, his voice quieter now, "will you leave
alone?"
Matteo answered without hesitation.
"Yes. After you pay what you owe . That’s all."
Adrian closed his eyes.
Exhaustion washed over him like a heavy weight. He was tired of seeing Matteo everywhere he turned. Tired of dealing with a man who could kill without hesitation. A man who refused to leave him alone.
This had to end.
His fingers tightened against the fabric of his trousers as he sat there in silence.
Matteo watched him carefully, waiting.
Finally, Adrian opened his eyes.
"Fine," he said.
Matteo frowned slightly, clearly not expecting that answer.
Adrian turned his head and looked directly at him.
"I’ll sleep with you."
For the first ti since they had t, Matteo looked genuinely surprised.
"Say that again."
Adrian didn’t look away.
"I said I’ll sleep with you."
Inside Adrian’s mind, a bitter thought followed imdiately.
If that’s what it takes to make you disappear from my life... then I’ll sacrifice my body.
Matteo stared at him, still processing the sudden change. Just hours ago Adrian had rejected him without hesitation.
And now he was agreeing?
Before Matteo could say anything else, Adrian leaned forward slightly and spoke to the driver.
"Stop the car."
Matteo’s eyes shifted toward him.
"Drop
here," Adrian continued. "After work, you can co pick
up at the studio."
Matteo remained silent for a mont before finally telling the driver to stop the car. His eyes stayed on Adrian the entire ti. People usually feared him the mont he walked into a room, but this was the first ti soone’s actions had left him genuinely stunned.
The driver slowed the vehicle and pulled it over to the side of the road.
Adrian opened the door and stepped out without looking back. The door closed behind him, leaving the car suddenly quiet.
For a mont the convoy remained still.
Inside the car, Matteo stared at the empty seat beside him.
A single thought settled heavily in his mind.
Do you hate
that much? he wondered. Are you really that desperate to get
out of your life?
