Shuu left the dining room and went back to his room and relaxed on the bed. He knew that it would be best if he remained out of sight for as long as their guest was here.
But staying in his room made him feel stiff, and he decided to take a small walk outside. Since the guest was in the living room, Shuu felt safe taking a small walk in the garden, and it helped.
The clear air and slightly sweet sll of flowers made him want to relax and sit down. He leaned against the tree and closed his eyes to enjoy it all.
And that was how the elf and Nero found him-leaning against the tree, with his eyes closed and his body relaxed.
"Sir Nero... is he...?"
The elf asked, and Nero tensed up. He imdiately defended Shuu’s presence before the elf could say anything that could be taken as an insult.
"He’s Prince Kaiden’s companion. He’s an incredible person, but due to circumstances, he’s staying with ..."
"Are those ’circumstances’ him being pregnant? I can sense another life form inside him, and it feels like the hero’s essence. But isn’t the hero getting married to a lady? Is that a ploy to fool everyone?"
The elf asked in a confused voice, and Nero felt his insides grow cold.
"Excuse ... what did you say? I am what?"
Shuu had never been asleep, but he pretended to be because he thought that it would be awkward for him to wake up. He could offend the elf with his presence.
But in reality, the one who got spooked was him and not the elf.
"Erwin, are you serious? This is not a joke, right? Rather, it would be better if you were joking..."
Nero quickly grabbed Erwin’s shoulder to shake him. A worried look took over Erwin’s face as he shook his head.
"I am not joking. This person is actually pregnant. Is... there a problem?"
The elf asked, and Nero almost let out a hysterical laugh.
"A problem? There are so many problems that you can’t even count... Prince Kaiden’s child? Do you even know how much trouble this will be if the news gets out?"
There was no telling what Prince Kaiden would do to Shuu.
He would never harm him. That much Shuu could tell as Prince Kaiden’s companion, and that was what worried him.
He was not sure if the crown prince would lock Shuu up and not allow him outside ever again. And that was the better scenario.
The worst would be if he allowed Shuu to marry him while the political atmosphere was filled with such tension and he was still confused about his feelings.
Not only would Shuu be used physically and emotionally, but he would likely be ntally exhausted. Not to ntion, the baby would likely be manipulated if he was not looked after.
"Is this... not sothing that was planned? Still, isn’t this good news? I can feel trendous power forming inside this human. It’s... even more than the current hero. This child will be a powerful one."
The elf guaranteed, and Nero let out a groan.
"That does not make feel better. Shuu, what do you want to do about this? The kid is yours. Do you want to get rid of-woah! Definitely not. So, do you want to tell Prince Kaiden about it?"
Shuu’s expression softened a little, but he still felt irritated.
Truthfully, him being pregnant was not sothing that made sense to him. He was a guy... but his symptoms made so much sense now.
The question remained-what did he want to do with this baby? Did he want to keep it? He had known about the existence of the baby for a whole minute, but he could not imagine letting harm co to it.
But telling Prince Kaiden was sothing he felt conflicted about.
"I... do not want to tell Prince Kaiden about the baby. I know I should, but I... He’s about to have a new life, and this baby would be a burden to him."
Not to ntion, there was a real possibility that this baby would be taken away from Shuu if it was discovered.
He did not think he would be able to take it if that were to happen. Nor did he want to live as a second wife.
As for becoming Prince Kaiden’s sole companion... as lovely as that thought sounded, Shuu knew it was a can of worms he should never open.
"Shuu... so, what do you want to do now? Do you want to disappear? Is that even a possibility?"
Prince Kaiden was a hero and soone appointed by the goddess. He was soone whose power was unknown. Even Nero, his familiar, had never seen him using his powers.
So there was no way to know what the extent of those powers was or what he could do.
And there was especially no way to be able to tell how he would react...
"There is only one solution here. It is to involve Lady Sera in this matter. If there is one person who can get Prince Kaiden to agree with her, it’s her. And I am sure she would be more than thrilled to do that as well."
Speaking those words left a bad taste in Nero’s mouth. If possible, he would never want to associate with her.
But right now, she was their help.
"Before that, should you not prepare an excuse to give to the crown prince? I believe I can help you with it."
The elf spoke sincerely, his willingness to help clear on his face.
"You want to help? But elves don’t usually concern themselves with such matters, right?"
Nero asked, and Erwin nodded.
"We usually don’t. But this child... he’s special. My instincts are telling that I should help this kid out to the best of my abilities."
Erwin spoke with sincerity, and both Nero and Shuu had no choice but to believe him.
"Alright, we will leave it up to you this ti. After all, it’s not like we have a lot of choices in this matter."
