Ash, Martin, and Clara looked at Naomi, puzzled by her uncertain gaze.

Swallowing hard, Ash pointed at himself. "I’m Ash, your friend." Then he gestured to Martin. "And this is Martin, also your friend." Finally, he pointed at Clara. "And this is Martin’s younger sister, Clara, also your junior."

He took a deep breath. "Do you rember us now?"

Naomi’s eyes flickered, confused, before she slowly shook her head.

Ash turned to Clara. "Call the doctor."

Clara nodded and hurried off, leaving Ash and Martin by Naomi’s side, worry etched on their faces.

When the doctor arrived, his eyes widened slightly at Ash. "Congratulations, I heard you were the top candidate in the entire country."

Ash scratched the back of his neck. "Oh, thank you."

Then his expression grew serious. "Doctor, can you check what’s wrong with my friend? She’s acting...strange."

The doctor examined Naomi carefully, checking her vital signs and observing her reactions. After a mont, he straightened. "She’s physically fine. However, the trauma from the accident may have caused retrograde amnesia."

Clara tilted her head. "What is amnesia?"

Ash replied softly, "It’s mory loss."

The doctor gave a small sigh, glancing at Ash. "Indeed...dicine seems to be your calling."

Ash smiled faintly, then asked, "Do we know when her mory will return?"

The doctor’s gaze softened, tinged with sadness. "I’m afraid...that’s uncertain. It could take days, weeks, or longer."

Ash and Martin exchanged worried glances, their concern for Naomi deepening.

Then Naomi’s parents arrived.

Naomi’s eyes widened the mont she saw them. "Papa...Mama..." she whispered, her voice trembling with relief. They rushed to her bedside, holding her hands, touching her face as if afraid she’d disappear again.

Ash stood a few steps back, his heart tightening. She rembers them...but not us.

Naomi’s mother turned to him, her eyes glistening. "Thank you, Ash, for everything you’ve done, for the guards, the hospital bills...we could never have managed on our own."

Ash blinked, confused. Hospital bills? Then it hit him. It must be Adrian.

He forced a small smile. "It’s okay. Naomi has been my friend for a long ti, it’s my honor to help." He turned to Naomi. "You rember you were a candidate, right?"

Naomi nodded faintly.

"The results are out," Ash added softly. "Check when you can. Get well soon."

He gestured to Martin and Clara, and the three slipped out of the room quietly.

But as soon as Ash stepped outside, he froze. The mask. He’s forgotten to wear it.

And by then, it was too late. The corridor was already crowded; journalists, caras flashing, microphones shoved in his face. Martin and Clara quickly stepped aside as the questions poured in.

Ash answered calmly, choosing his words carefully, until one reporter raised her voice above the noise.

"How do you feel, young master Ash, being the most promising dicine student personally assigned to study under the renowned Doctor Stephene?"

Ash’s body went still. His pulse stopped for a second. No...it can’t be.

Then a familiar, calm voice cut through the noise.

"Can you give my beb a break?"

The crowd instantly parted as Lucien walked forward, his tone smooth but commanding. Caras clicked as he approached Ash, a faint smile curving on his lips. "Congratulations beb," he said simply.

Before Ash could respond, one of the journalists turned toward Lucien. "Alpha Lucien, how do you feel about your Ex being assigned to your fiance?"

Lucien sighed softly, his expression unreadable. "Knowledge and talent aren’t bound by relationships," he said coolly. "The world moves forward when we let people grow instead of holding them back."

That was enough to silence them.

Lucien then reached for Ash’s hand, guiding him gently through the flashing lights. "The congratulatory party for my fiance is being held at my hotel," he announced smoothly. "Everyone is welco."

He opened the car door for Ash, revealing Adrian waiting inside. Ash slipped in, Lucien followed and, Bravin, started the engine.

Inside, Ash sat between Adrian and Lucien. The air was thick with silence. Adrian avoided Ash’s gaze, looking tense.

Ash frowned. "What’s wrong with him?" he asked Lucien quietly.

Lucien chuckled under his breath. "He’s still stuck on what you told him."

Ash blinked. "What did I say?"

Lucien smirked. "That his kiss is la."

Ash groaned, rubbing his forehead. "Ah...I didn’t an that. It’s just...I saw Celeste at the ICU window, watching us."

Adrian’s head shot up, eyes widening. "What?"

Ash nodded quickly. "Yeah. I didn’t want to make things worse."

"Then why didn’t you tell ?" Adrian asked, his tone strained.

"You’d have overreacted," Ash replied simply.

Lucien leaned back, folding his arms. "And why pretend? You should’ve let her know the truth. The earlier, the better."

Ash exhaled. "I just didn’t want to drag Adrian into more trouble."

Adrian turned to him, his voice low but steady. "I don’t care anymore."

Lucien sighed, glancing between them. "Then you’d better make things clear soon," he said. "You’ve got babies on the way. I don’t want to be a single mother, unless you’d prefer that Ash?"

Ash shot him a look, speechless, as Lucien only grinned wider. He suddenly rembered. "Wait- we left my friends behind."

Adrian’s expression was calm. "Already sorted that, even before we arrived." Ash raised an eyebrow. "By the way...how did you know I was at the hospital?"

Lucien glanced at his wrist. "The watch." Ash looked down at his wrist. "Oh...I forgot it has a tracker."

Just then, Adrian’s phone rang. He answered quickly. "Hold him, on my way." He hung up and turned to Bravin. "Drive to the police station."

Lucien leaned forward. "What are we going to do?"

Adrian’s eyes were sharp. "They’ve caught the driver who hit Ash’s friend. He’s being pressured to talk, but he doesn’t want to spill anything. With my own thods, it’ll be hard for him to keep quiet."

Lucien’s smile curved. "I can’t wait to have so fun with this."
