Throughout the day, they enjoyed themselves by going on dates to several places they visited. Arcane took him to an amusent park that was different from the amusent parks in the city where they lived.
Arcane saw how Julian laughed so freely when they rode a roller coaster that was quite high and also very fast. His gaze never left his face, as if he had a new life that was much more enjoyable than his usual life.
"Arcane, let’s try that one!" Julian pointed to one of the most extre rides.
Where they would be placed in a seat that would rise up very slowly, then drop down again at a different speed.
"Are you sure you’re not afraid of that one? It’s even higher than the roller coaster we rode earlier. I’m worried you will faint up there, or maybe you’ll throw up on the way down," he teased Julian, folding his arms across his chest.
"Of course I can! I’m not a coward!"
Seeing his courage and high self confidence, Arcane finally agreed to do what Julian wanted as long as he was happy.
And sure enough, as soon as they boarded the extre ride, Julian’s face paled when he realized he was at a considerable height, almost surpassing the Ferris wheel. As the seat they were sitting in descended at a rapid speed, he clung on so tightly that he even grabbed Arcane’s hand out of fear.
’He’s so cute when he’s scared like that. I know he seems to like roller coasters, but this one is definitely more extre than a roller coaster,’ Arcane thought at that mont.
He was actually a little scared of the ride too, but his fear was distracted by his husband’s funny reaction. That made him no longer feel scared and instead feel amused.
After they got off, Julian was still trembling, and Arcane imdiately held his arm.
"So how was it, Mr. Brave? Did you enjoy the ride?" he asked in a more teasing tone than before.
Julian intended to open his mouth to protest, but he didn’t. Because if he protested, it would be even more obvious that he was scared.
The green haired man felt like his soul was still up there, so much so that he didn’t say anything for several minutes after getting off.
Feeling sorry for him, Arcane invited Julian to sit on a bench in the amusent park. He bought him a drink and sat down next to him.
"Feeling better?" he asked, no longer teasing.
Julian nodded as he drank his beverage. "Yes. I really didn’t expect that ride to be so fast, even faster than a roller coaster."
Arcane gently rubbed Julian’s head, saying that this would be a funny first impression for him.
"But it’s okay. After this, we’ll try other gas or maybe we can go to another place that’s more fun. I have a place we can go this afternoon."
He turned his head, looked at Arcane, and wondered what kind of place they would go to.
As evening approached, they went to a place not far from the amusent park. It was in a fairly crowded city park. Many families and couples ca to this place to enjoy a quiet afternoon.
Arcane then took Julian to a fountain in the middle of the park, where several people were standing around it.
"Why did we co here? If it’s just to see a fountain, aren’t there many fountains like this in other places?" asked Julian curiously.
"There are indeed many fountains like this in various places. But this one will look different, and you’ll find out why later." Arcane said this because he wanted Julian to see a mont that he might never have seen before.
Everyone fell silent, glancing at their watches and phones as they waited for nightfall. Julian still didn’t understand what they were waiting for at that mont, but he realized that the people surrounding the fountain were couples. n and won, n and n, and won with other won.
They held hands, chatted, and laughed as they waited for sothing to co.
And when the sky began to darken, Arcane took Julian’s hand and held it.
"Are you ready? When they start counting down, close your eyes, and when the count ends, you must open your eyes imdiately," said Arcane.
Though he didn’t understand why he had to do it, Julian followed Arcane’s instructions, and the people began closing their eyes while counting down from 10.
"10... 9... 8...!!"
They counted together, in perfect unison, and Julian followed their count.
"5... 4... 3... 2!"
"ONE!"
Burrsssttt!!!
The fountain suddenly spurted out with such force, and with the lights turning on simultaneously, the light from the lamps refracted and a small rainbow appeared above the fountain.
The fountain, which only spurted out water so fast and so hard, created a very beautiful rainbow.
Julian’s yellow eyes widened in surprise, but imdiately changed to amazent and sparkled as he watched.
"Make a wish," Arcane whispered to him, and Julian realized that the people there were closing their eyes again as if they were praying.
He imdiately followed his partner’s words and made a wish.
’I want to stay with Arcane! He showed a new world that I had never seen before. I hope our love is not a sin, and if it is, then forgive for this sin and this love.’
When he opened his eyes again, he saw Arcane’s face right in front of his, slowly kissed him. A warm kiss in the middle of the dark and cold sky. Stars adorned the sky, like Arcane’s presence in Julian’s life and Julian’s presence in the darkness of Arcane’s life.
"Now do you understand why I brought you here?" Arcane asked after their kiss.
He explained that this fountain was a place commonly used by couples to make a wish to always be together.
"Those who kiss here will be bound forever by the spirit of this fountain."
"Do you believe in that?" Julian asked.
Arcane chuckled and put his arm around his shoulder. Actually, he didn’t really believe in such superstitions. But he wanted to show this to Julian, and it was worth it to make him amazed by what he saw.
"Not really. But there’s no harm in enjoying this mont, right?"
