That sa afternoon, Julian was preparing dinner for himself and Luna. He made a simple al because he didn’t want to keep his daughter waiting, especially since his cooking skills weren’t as good as Arcane’s.
Luna, who had been watching television, went to the kitchen to join her father.
"Papa, where’s Daddy Arcane? Why isn’t he ho yet?" she asked innocently while hugging her rabbit doll.
Julian, who was cooking at the ti, imdiately turned to his daughter and smiled.
"Daddy has extra work at school. He’ll be ho late tonight, so it’ll just be the two of us for dinner tonight," he explained.
Still not understanding what kind of work Arcane had, Luna could only nod her head and then climb onto the dining table chair to wait for her dinner to be ready.
That night, it was just the two of them having dinner together while talking about the little things they usually did.
As the night grew late, Julian glanced at the wall clock, which showed it was already 8:00 PM. He put Luna to bed in her room, still occasionally checking his phone and glancing at the clock.
"They must be out drinking now. This is sothing he usually does with other teachers, but for so reason, it feels a little different this ti."
He couldn’t shake the feeling that he still felt uncomfortable and worried about Arcane. Especially since thoughts of infidelity kept filling his head, making Julian wonder. Would Arcane change soday?
He deliberately sent her a ssage to find out what she was doing at the mont.
[JULIAN]
Hey, what are you doing? Is the eting over yet?
It didn’t take long for him to receive a reply from Arcane, confirming that the eting was indeed over and that they were at a pub.
[MY HUSBAND]
Yes, the eting ended about 30 minutes ago. We’re at a pub having a few drinks now.
[MY HUSBAND]
Don’t worry. I won’t drink too much and get drunk. So you don’t need to co pick up. Just make sure Luna and you are safe at ho.
Reading the ssage, Julian felt both relieved and worried. He didn’t know since when he had beco so sensitive about this, especially about his concerns regarding Arcane and Kyle’s relationship.
Maybe Arcane wasn’t the type of man who would cheat so easily. But if another man were to flirt with him, wouldn’t that an it was possible?
"Enough! Why am I doubting him so much? It’s clear that he loves and Luna. He would never cheat on us."
Frustrated, Julian got up from Luna’s bed and went to the bathroom to cool off under the shower.
On the other hand, Arcane was sitting next to Donald, who was his own father. Since everyone already knew their identities, Arcane and Donald were more open about their relationship as father and son.
Even though he had deliberately sat next to his father to avoid people who might have special feelings for him, a man still chose to sit next to him. And that man was none other than Kyle.
"Co on, drink up, it’s on as usual," Donald said to the teachers who worked at his school.
The teachers cheered happily, started drinking alcohol and eating snacks provided by the pub.
They joked, laughed, chatted and talked about their work and the students at school.
Arcane downed a small glass of drink, then looked at the other teachers. Trying to ignore Kyle sitting next to him.
"Arcane," the man called out to him, even though he had tried to ignore him.
Not wanting to look bad in front of the people at the table, he was forced to turn to him.
"What’s wrong?"
"You’ve been quiet since earlier. Are you okay?" Kyle asked, looking concerned.
"I’m fine. Haven’t I always been like this?" Arcane asked Kyle in return, which imdiately silenced the man.
Perhaps Arcane did seem cold all this ti, but sothing in Kyle’s mind was different from reality. He felt that Kyle often chatted with him simply because there weren’t many teachers who were close to him.
In the middle of their conversation, Johnson, the gym teacher, imdiately pulled Kyle’s shoulder and invited him to drink with them.
"You always drink apple juice every ti we co here. Try drinking with us once in a while. You can try one or two glasses!" he said.
"But I’m not used to drinking alcohol. I’m worried that I’ll get drunk after just one glass."
However, Johnson continued to persuade him, as did the other teachers, who said that Kyle would be fine. Trying just one glass wouldn’t hurt anyone, right?
Even so, the white-haired man felt very hesitant to do so. He realized that he rarely got close to other teachers, and if he tried drinking just one glass, they might start to truly accept him.
But what if he suddenly got drunk?
The man’s eyes then turned to Arcane, who was staring lazily. Seeing that he didn’t say anything, made him feel a little surprised and sad. Usually, Arcane would always defend him, but this ti he just remained silent.
’Why has his attitude been so different lately? Did I do sothing wrong to him, or is sothing going on at ho?’ thought Kyle, who assud that Arcane might have problems at ho just like he did.
"So, what do you say? Co on, try one glass!"
Johnson imdiately poured a glass of alcohol for Kyle. He handed him the glass, and the teachers began cheering to encourage him.
"Don’t force him if he doesn’t want to. Are you okay, Mr. Bernard?" Donald looked concerned.
He turned to the principal, feeling uncomfortable because he looked very different from the other teachers. Reluctantly, he accepted the glass and nodded his head.
"I’m fine. I’m sure I can drink it."
Arcane, who had been sitting silently with his chin resting on his hand, watched Kyle, who was still hesitant to drink from the glass. He had known for a long ti that Kyle didn’t drink alcohol, and this ti he was going to try it.
"Is he really going to drink it?" thought Arcane, raising his eyebrows.
Slowly, the glass touched Kyle’s lips, and with his eyes closed, he drank the beverage.
