Ren was soone who stood by his side for over a decade, Ren was the person he would have valued the most in his life as the chairman of Yugen holdings without the betrayal.

To ask soone as significant as Aiichiro to kill Ren felt like an insult because if anyone should do it, it should be him. The only person on the face of the earth worthy of ending Ren’s life was him.

He was the one who got betrayed, so he should be the one to end their ill-fated relationship that was why it took him more than a couple of weeks to accept such a plan.

It was a plan he ca up with after hours of unending planning and thinking but he knew he could stab Ren to death, soak his hands with the man’s warm blood but that would be against him in the family.

Ren had more loyal followers in the underworld than any other leader even Aiichiro. Ren was the only connection he had to all those followers and if he killed Ren, then he would have to take the bla as Ren’s killer which would make it harder to get their trust.

So of those he was in control of worked in his security company, those without a criminal record or obvious connection to the underworld. Most of his guards consisted of those n and they saw Ren perhaps because of his age or the stories of his past as their hero.

Killing such a hero will automatically make him the villain and he could not afford to tear down his ho from within with his own hands, it was worse than shooting his own foot.

The heaviness that had followed his request continued even after their al was served. "Bon appetit," Aiichiro murmured before he began eating enthusiastically as though he had been hungry all along.

Haruki began eating quietly forcing each bite into his mouth as he reminded himself he had to eat to nourish his body whether he had the appetite to or not.

Wine was served as ordered and Haruki sipped until the glass was emptied and Aiichiro refilled his glass for him without being asked.

Haruki looked at the refilled wine glass with hesitation but he brought the glass to his lips and took a sip.

"Are you going to do it?" Haruki asked relaxing a bit savoring the taste of the alcohol.

Aiichiro paused with his wine glass against his lips as he t Haruki’s gaze. He took a sip and placed the glass down without breaking their gaze and asked, "Are you sure you want to do it?"

"I will ignore the fact that you almost killed my doctor as long as you do it." Haruki was sceptical about the man agreeing to do it after all, it was still so hard for him to accept the fact that the man was simply acting based on the feelings he had.

"To kill your ntor, your right-hand man?" Aiichiro asked in disbelief. "Why will you want to do it?"

"Because you butted into our business when no one asked. Now you’re involved and I need soone to clean my ss and I couldn’t help but think of you. Since you like ddling so much, you might as well agree to this."

Haruki knew the words he had said were rude and offered no kindness but he could not bring himself to take them back.

"I guess you have accepted the fact that I like you enough to kill for you," the man sighed and rubbed his brow. "Why then won’t you accept as you did with your doctor?"

"I will never do that because you are not my doctor," Haruki replied calmly. It was annoying for him to even bother to think about the man replacing Hiroshi but he could not even fathom the possibility of that happening.

"You still don’t believe that I love you well enough," the man scoffed and rubbed his face. "The only reason I did what I did was to make you snap out of your thoughts.

"Do you know that the mont you began getting involved with male lovers along with your female lovers, Ren had planned to take the position from you?"

"I don’t care, I want you to kill him anyway," Haruki replied calmly. He could see that the man was trying to justify his actions but Haruki felt no need to listen to him speak.

"I think having on your side would benefit you a lot," Aiichiro tried to persuade Haruki. "How will you survive without Ren? You need help managing so many n. You will have him follow your orders, right? I can help you with that."

"If you’re seeking a partnership, I cannot give you. That was the deal. I will give you what you want and you’ll leave alone and kill your spy.

"I will have dinner with my in-laws soon and my engagent will be announced. I will get married as you want to for whatever reason but I need you to kill your spies first," Haruki replied coldly.

Haruki watched him scoff and clenched his fists on the table before reaching for the wine glass.

There was no way he could believe that all Aiichiro did was pure because he loved him. To even think of believing it, felt like a joke. Why would soone be so entranced by soone enough to plot all Aiichiro only to ask the person to get married to soone else?

"I know you don’t believe ," Aiichiro murmured before taking another sip of wine. "And it is so painful to have my feelings regardless. What do you have that I don’t have?"

"Everything that I have?" Haruki asked finding the question absurd. Everything he had belonged to him not Aiichiro.

"I guess you’re right but how greedy would I be to want to absorb Yugen holdings?"

"Greedy enough," Haruki replied calmly as he also reached for his wine glass. He wondered why the man was asking illogical questions. If he had the opportunity to absorb Aiichiro’s company, he would do it without hesitation after all, there was no harm in owning more.

"Then I guess I am not greedy enough. You should be grateful to for all you’ve enjoyed until this mont. Ren would have gotten rid of you early enough before you have to chance to realise what was happening.

"I don’t know how he would have done it. By killing you? By letting the world believe you’ve lost your mind and locking you up in so psych ward? He knows you well enough to do anything to get rid of you but I prevent it from happening yet you . . ."

Haruki felt a strong urge to yawn but held back. He wondered why everyone was trying to justify their acts to him. First it was Ren, now it was Aiichiro.

He sighed and took another sip of wine. He placed the wine glass down and asked, "Will you kill him?"

Hearing Haruki’s words caused Aiichiro’s brows to furrow as his eyes looked pained before he looked down at his hands and responded, "I will do it."

"Thanks then. The sooner the better."

Haruki rose up tired from the exhausting conversation. Without bidding farewell, he walked out of the room and closed the door behind him. As he got into his car, he felt his hands shake.

He had just asked soone to kill his ntor, a man he used to respect, the man that thought him all he knew about this life before and even after he beca chairman.

As the car began to drive out of the driveway, Haruki’s phone vibrated. It was a ssage from Aiichiro.

--- Goodnight.

It was a simple greeting but Haruki could easily confirm Aiichiro’s agreent through those words. He felt his heart race. Ren was going to die soon.

When he arrived at ho and Ren bowed slightly to him, he felt a lump form in his throat. He nodded to the man and continued towards the elevator.

"Announce the engagent imdiately," Haruki ordered Kiyoshi as he pressed the button to his floor.

"Yes sir."

Haruki hadn’t ordered Kiyoshi to announce the engagent after Hiroshi’s accident. However, he hoped the announcent would show Aiichiro he had no intention of contending with him and make the man hasten the plan.

He entered the bathroom and unbuttoned his shirt with shaky hands. First, he made a deal to end his ntor’s life and second, he was going to announce his engagent. He wondered how Hiroshi would take the news.

From the day of his accident, Hiroshi had been coming over after work but he wasn’t allowed in by the guards. He would wait for about an hour before driving away. He was very consistent with it that he began worrying if the man was eating his dinner at all.

The engagent should be what would forcefully send Hiroshi away or sothing he could use to keep the man away until he is done with his plans.

As much as he felt Hiroshi’s reaction might be the latter, a part of him warned that Hiroshi might choose the forr.
