~Evric’s POV~

I started giggling alone in my office, unable to express the pure, ridiculous joy bubbling up inside .

I looked at my phone, still displaying his last ssage. The man was a nace.

"Zayn is clearly starting what he cannot finish," I muttered to myself, shaking my head with amusent.

I knew exactly how this ’office f*ck’ would go. He’d be demanding and wild for the first two minutes.

Then, one hard thrust later, he’d already be whimpering, "Baby, be gentle! Be gentle!"

He always talked a big ga, promising to ruin , but it was usually who pushed his limits.

I laughed, knowing the truth of our dynamics. He was all fire and bravado, but I was the one with the endurance.

And honestly, that sweet, imdiate submission was half the fun. It made feel utterly powerful and completely adored.

I laughed again, a full, rumbling sound. He tried his best, though. He truly did, he was trying his absolute best to be the naughty partner, and I loved him deeply for the effort.

He was mine, imperfections and all. And his attempts at mischief always made my day.

I wouldn’t trade his passionate but brief intensity for anything. He was my handso, sweet, trying-his-best man, and I loved him for every single failed promise of lasting dominance.

The thought of him brought back his father’s mory. Should I tell Zayn that Hudson Smith ca to my office? Or should I wait until he contacts again?

I was scared. The last ti I had asked Zayn about his father, the mood was instantly ruined.

I didn’t want the mood ruined now. Not when Zayn was on his way to , planning a naughty surprise.

That confrontation with Hudson could wait. It was a serious talk that deserved its own space, not to be mixed with our playful excitent.

I put my phone face down. I took a deep breath, focusing only on the paperwork in front of .

I decided to distract myself with work, determined to be finished and ready when my man arrived. I had an office appointnt to keep.

I worked for what felt like hours. When Zayn finally walked in, my heart seized up.

His face was completely dull. His eyes were red, almost looking like he had been crying the entire drive over.

The sight of him instantly killed my excitent.

"Everyone out," I commanded instantly, turning to Ja and the other staff inside my office. "Clear out imdiately."

Ja and the rest quickly gathered the files and notes. He was rushing, even holding up one last docunt for my signature.

"Sir, just sign this final one—"

"I will sign it later," I snapped, standing up.

"Okay, sir." Ja and the staff bowed quickly and hurried out, leaving the office door closed behind them.

I rushed straight to Zayn. "Babe, what’s wrong?"

My first terrified thought was that his father had sohow reached him already. But that wasn’t the case.

He didn’t speak. He just collapsed into my embrace and started to sob uncontrollably.

"Babe, what’s wrong? You are scaring ," I asked, holding him tight.

He finally spoke, the words muffled against my chest. "Please, babe, can you please give tonight? I will be back tomorrow or probably Saturday."

"What’s wrong? Tell !"

"I promise, when I’m back, I will do everything you want." His desperation broke my heart.

"You will speak to first," I insisted, pulling back gently to cup his face.

He took a ragged breath. "Just now, as I reached your company, I was parking my car when my phone rang. It was era."

My blood ran cold. "And?"

"She said Liam is in the hospital."

"What?" The word felt impossible, heavy.

He nodded, tears streaming again. "Yes. He’s in the hospital. era said Liam’s breathing started being difficult. He suddenly had a high temperature."

"It happened right after he ate shellfish."

"Even though era assured he’s responding to treatnt, that he’s getting better, she just had to call to inform ."

His chest hitched with sobs. "So please, Evric, after hearing that, he pleaded, his body shaking. I can’t just sit here while my son is in the hospital."

"I know what it feels like to have that kind of allergic reaction," he choked out. "And Liam is just too small to be facing the sa thing."

"Why does he have to take the sa weakness from ? Please, Evric, don’t stop . I need to go and see my son."

I held him tighter. "Hey. I am not stopping you. Okay?"

"But the way you are trembling right now, you can’t drive on your own."

I let go of him, already grabbing my briefcase. "I will go with you."

I quickly packed my things and called my driver imdiately to ready the car.

I cupped Zayn’s face, forcing him to look at . "Liam will be fine, okay? Just calm down."

"ssage era or call her to share the hospital location right now."

He nodded, taking out his phone imdiately. He called era and managed to get the address, his voice shaking the entire ti.

I kept a firm hold on his hand as we quickly walked out of my office, down the long hallway to the elevator.

The car was waiting downstairs. Once the location was sent to my driver, the journey started instantly.

I pulled Zayn close, letting him rest his head on my shoulder. "It’s okay, baby. Just calm down. He is strong."

He was still trembling violently. "He’s so small, Evric," he murmured, his voice thick with guilt. "Liam is so small."

"And why does he have to take my weakness?" he choked out, blaming himself. "If I hadn’t had this allergy, Liam wouldn’t be suffering now."

"That is not true," I corrected him instantly, rubbing his back. "Stop it. It is not your fault, Zayn. You didn’t choose this for him."

"It’s just terrible luck, darling. That’s all."

"But it’s my allergy," he insisted, the tears starting again. "It ca from ."

"It’s genetics, baby. It’s not a flaw, and it’s certainly not your fault," I reiterated firmly. "era said he is already responding to treatnt. He is strong, just like his father."

"Liam is going to be absolutely fine. You need to breathe for him, okay? He needs you to be steady."

I kept running my hand soothingly over his back, repeating quiet affirmations and reassurances until his shaking finally began to subside.

He just clung to , burying his face deeper into my chest.

"We should be there soon," I murmured, kissing the top of his head. "We’re going to see him soon. Okay."

He hugged fiercely, burying his face in my neck. "Okay," he murmured.

We faced the rest of the journey in silence, united in worry, but grounded in our embrace.

The drive was long, the tension in the car almost suffocating, but finally, we arrived at the hospital.

I paused before we opened the door, turning to Zayn. "Listen to ," I said, my gaze steady. "You are the man here. You need to be strong for Liam."

"You cannot break down in front of era. And stop blaming yourself, it is not your fault."

He took a deep breath, pulling his shoulders back slightly. "Okay," he nodded, his voice steadying.

With that final affirmation, we held hands tightly and walked together into the brightly lit, sterile corridors of the hospital.
