The last thing Xion rembered was a heavy cloth being thrown over his head. He had no idea how he had sohow managed to offend the sacred order.
Now, he found himself seated on sothing hard and cold. Judging by the shape, it was likely a wooden chair.
The cloth still obscured his vision, making everything feel oppressively claustrophobic.
Under normal circumstances, he would have torn the cloth away the mont he regained consciousness, but to his dismay, his hands were tightly bound to the armrests.
Forget moving his hands; he couldn’t even wiggle his legs!
The kidnappers had tied his legs securely to the chair’s legs, leaving him completely immobilized. With no other choice, Xion had to sit helplessly, waiting for his captor to return and remove the suffocating cover.
He had tried shouting earlier, fifteen minutes ago, to be exact, but no response ca. Not a single sound, not even the faintest echo of approaching footsteps.
Hence, now, he decided to go back to the system mall and read his books. Anyway, if he were going to die soon, he better learn sothing new.
Who knows, I might go back to my old world...
It took another half an hour until Xion heard a faint rustle of clothes rubbing together. His ears perked up as he heard the sound of footsteps reverting through the vicinity.
The way the echo rang, the room must be big and most likely empty. Xion did not have to guess for long.
Soon, the cloth over his face was yanked away. The hood on his head also slipped off under the pull of gravity.
The sharp glare pierced his eyes, and he instinctively squeezed them shut against the sudden brightness.
Was it not supposed to be nightti? Why was the sun still beaming at him?
He slowly blinked his watery eyes to adjust to the light. When his vision cleared, he realized no one was standing before him.
His gaze darted around, and as he had previously guessed, he was sitting in a big, round hall with a tomb-like curved ceiling.
There were obvious depictions of goddess Myrthia on the ceiling and the pristine walls, so resembling the ones he had seen back at Marquis’s mansion.
"I apologize for keeping you waiting so long, servant of light."
A high-pitched voice, feminine and gentle, sounded from behind. Even when Xion turned his head to the side, he could not catch the glimpse of a woman hiding behind him.
"I have to use such a crude thod for bringing you here. Please do forgive for my insolence."
"No," Xion huffed. "Why should I? And who the fuck is the servant?"
He had been left tied to the chair for what felt like hours, with no one to explain why he was there or what they wanted from him.
Then, as if mocking his patience, soone had decided it was a good idea to remove his hood.
If they wanted peace, should they not at least respect his choices?
Now, Xion was usually a gentle person, kind-hearted to a fault. But there was a condition to his kindness. It was reserved only for those his heart deed worthy.
And as for the woman who had staged his kidnapping? She did not make the cut. From the mont she opened her mouth, his instincts had scread for him to flee.
His annoyance at being abducted, coupled with the irritation of being exposed, made him angry.
Angry Xion was... Well, was not a good idea.
"Why have you kidnapped ?" Xion asked while his gaze road all around.
The concrete walls were covered with a pure coating of paint. Massive curtains were covering the windows, and by the look of it, these windows were all around the hall, or whatever it was.
Despite his careful observation, he still couldn’t locate the source of the blinding radiance he had witnessed monts ago.
"Kidnap? Now, that’s a very vulgar word."
There was a pause before the woman continued in a gentle, almost soothing tone, "I have rely summoned you here under the order of my mistress."
Xion rolled his eyes. By now, he was certain he was in so sort of church or an equally self-righteous establishnt.
"You dare to do the vulgar but still don’t want to acknowledge it?" He scoffed. "At least be brave enough to admit what you did wrong."
His blunt words escaped his lips and Xion blatantly realized he had been speaking a bit... too much?
A sigh reverberated through the silence.
Xion felt the hair on his neck stand at attention. A delicate finger traced the line of his nape, and a cold, unnerving touch seeped into his skin. He shivered.
"I suggest you speak in modesty, young master Xion."
The soft voice was closer now. Yet to Xion, it sounded like a blade hidden in velvet. He could feel the warm breath sliding off his skin.
A fear surged through him. Xion knew he should tread carefully with every word, however, his mouth seed to have a mind of its own.
"Or what? You don’t sound modest to . So, why should I pretend to be one."
The finger was still grazing the back of his neck. Then, the touched area felt hot before a jolt ran through his entire body.
A loud scream ripped through the dood hall, and Xion fell forward.
He gasped, his body still reeling from the shock of imnse pain. Despite it being only for a few seconds, it was as if his entire body was being split apart.
Barely had Xion regained his breath when that sa finger inched closer, and this ti, the pain spread from his ear, burning like fire.
"Ahhhh!!!!"
"You have such lovely ears and such lovely face too. Really, sothing a prostitute would vie for."
The lady did not care if Xion listened to her words or not. Nor was she bothered with the pain she had inflicted upon the pretty boy.
It was only when Xion’s breath ca in shallow gasps, and he had no strength left to retaliate, that she circled him.
Xion saw it. Rubbing his tears on his shoulder, he saw "her".
A woman.
Her golden skirt flowed elegantly, draping so flawlessly it hid even her shoes, leaving her seemingly untouched by the world around her.
A delicate veil of gold concealed her face entirely, but it couldn’t mask the wavy strands of yellow hair cascading down to her thin waist.
She looked petite, fragile even, and Xion had no doubt that she was beautiful.
Even under the vagueness of the thin veil, he could catch a glimpse of cherry lips curled in a smile.
"What do you want?" Xion asked, helpless.
"Oh, nothing much," The lady took a few steps further. Xion followed her actions and saw an encirclent drawn on the ground.
He was the center of the inky drawing.
Though he had no idea what those strange lines snaking over the floor ant, it was definitely not sothing good.
"How about we have tea first? After all, you must be thirsty." The lady suggested, her tone still impossibly calm, as though tea with a prisoner was a normal pasti.
Her gentle voice fell, and Xion felt his throat getting dry. If he still did not understand, then he would be the biggest idiot in the entire Eldoria Lunareth.
This circle was following the lady’s command. He, Xion, had no way other than to obey her.
So, he relented. Perhaps the pain had jolted his senses back into place. At least now, he did not feel the urge to outright curse her.
The lady clapped her hands once, and, as if summoned by the sound, a table materialized in front of Xion. Beside it, a chair appeared which, unlike Xion’s wooden one, was elegantly cushioned.
On the small round table were two steaming cups of green tea wafting hot steam.
He was not fond of teas, especially green teas.
The rope on one of his hands loosened on its own, and he could only follow the lady’s action to take the white cup.
Although his hand trembled from the shock he had just received, he sohow managed to prevent the tea from spilling.
