Xion’s heart pounded as he scanned the glowing description on the system panel until his gaze fell on the leftmost option.
Ethereal Balm of Reprieve
A rare alchemical elixir designed to numb pain. It coats the affected regions with a soothing layer of neutral mana, countering harmful or volatile energies.
Ti Limit:10–12 hours.
Overuse Warning:May cause mana strain or mild immunity with frequent use.
Price:25,000 rit Points.
Twenty-five thousand rit Points was no small amount, especially for soone who had debated for hours about buying a spare robe.
However, Xion did not hesitate for even a second before pushing the purchase button.
A small, circular box materialized before him, floating in the air before falling into his sweaty palms with a faint hum. The smooth glass was cool against his feverish skin, but he did not dare touch it.
What if his unclean hands contaminated the contents?
Rushing into the bathroom, Xion scrubbed his hands thoroughly. Only then did he return to the bed and open the lid with delicate care.
Through the circular glass lid, he saw them, ten tiny, glistening blue pills nestled snugly inside. Each pill rolled around as he tilted the box.
They shimred faintly with a blue sheen. Xion could tell they were coated with sothing special, sothing that was definitely not mana.
These pills would not cure Rael’s problem, but they would grant him so relief from his pain. For now, that was enough.
Without wasting any ti, Xion went to Rael’s place. If not for his own anxiousness, he might have noticed the strange silence in the room.
Allen and Ray were standing near the bed, their faces still, and unreadable. As for Rael, the boy was exactly where Xion had left him.
Kneeling by Rael’s side, Xion opened the box and very gently placed one of the pills in the smaller palm. "Here, swallow it with water."
Allen was quick to hand over a glass of water before respectfully stepping back to his original position.
Xion, however, kept his eyes on Rael. Watching the boy gulp down the dicine, he could not help but think that even this simple action must have been painful for him.
Honestly, Xion had no idea how this kid was still alive. Maybe it was so accumulated good karma shielding the sweet angel from death, or perhaps his inherent mana was strong enough to hold on.
I will definitely find the cure for you... Xion silently vowed.
"How are you feeling?" he asked. He did have confidence in the quality of the system’s products.
From food to dicine, everything the system offered worked flawlessly.
His thoughts were confird when Rael answered him.
"It doesn’t hurt anymore."
Xion breathed a sigh of relief. Without caring about his image, he slumped onto the bed. "That’s good."
Darius stared intently at the pill in Xion’s hand and then at the black-haired head buried in the mattress. Those pale green eyes narrowed in contemplation.
"What is this?" He finally questioned.
Xion raised his head. "It’s a special dicine. Um, you rember Minato? My teacher?" he asked while silently apologizing to his ntor for pushing the bla onto him.
Darius nodded. Despite his frail body, his mory had always been impeccable.
"He made these. I know the ingredients," Xion added quickly. He could learn about those from the system’s detailed descriptions. "But I’ve never made them before. These are the only ones I have for now."
Allen, without a doubt, was curious. His gaze shifted between His Grace and the small container in Xion’s hands. Strangely his actions mimicked his master’s.
"Brother Allen, can you ensure he takes one pill every night?"
Xion, yet again, forgot to use the proper honorific, but no one, not even Ray, flinched at the breach in etiquette.
After all, this healer had already achieved a miracle by scolding His Grace earlier. Worrying about such small matters seed pointless to Ray now.
The knight watched as Allen carefully accepted the box, holding it as if it were a priceless treasure.
They truly were rare treasures. Ray and Allen both thought the sa thing.
Xion gave Allen many instructions. He was afraid that they would not take him seriously so, he intentionally detailed the things about Rael’s body.
Only after confirming that Allen understood everything did Xion look at Rael again.
"Out," Darius ordered coldly.
"Yes, Your Grace."
"Yes, Your Grace."
Allen and Ray both responded simultaneously and left the room without hesitation.
Xion blinked in confusion. Were they not discussing sothing important?
Perplexed, he fumbled to his feet. Just as he was about to leave, Darius spoke again.
"Co here."
Xion turned back. Ah, the order was only for those two.
His gaze swept the area in search of a chair, but there was none nearby. The heavy furniture they had sat on before was far too cumberso, and he was well aware of his limited strength.
Left with no choice, the silly Xion paddled over to Darius’ side, and just like before, sat on the floor.
Now that he was face-to-face with the boy, Rael’s pale complexion seed to have gained a faint, healthy flush.
"Who are you?"
The straightforward question made Xion blink in bewildernt. "Um, Xion?"
Darius leaned forward. He pinched Xion’s chin between cold fingers and forced the healer to et his piercing gaze.
Despite being the shorter of the two, his position gave him the perfect advantage. His strong aura burst out. It was scary enough to make the small fluffy animals run for their lives.
Xion, as startled as a rabbit in the headlights, was no exception. The sudden movent forced him to stretch his neck.
His wide eyes locked onto Darius’s dark, jewel-like ones, and he gulped nervously.
"I only give one warning," the voice was icy. "I already told you, I hate liars." His thumb brushed against the tender skin of Xion’s chin. "Tell , who are you really?"
Xion was on the verge of tears. A bead of sweat traced a slow line down his slender neck.
His long raven black eyelashes trembled as he blatantly realized his mistake.
Rael was not soone to let things go unnoticed. There was hardly any detail that slipped past his eyes.
He was just a poor healer, and now he showed him such a rare dicine. Of course, Rael would suspect him!
After all, what kind of ordinary, broke and holess healer carried such exotic items?
"I-I’m the illegitimate son of Roberto Vaelis!" Xion blurted out in desperation. He threw his father’s na as a shield.
The old man never acted like a father, anyway. This much debt repaynt should be fine, right?
