"Anya," Xion slurred the na. Even if it was just a word, it still left a bitter taste on both of their tongues.
The Northern lord knew countless nas — but hers wasn’t one he had heard before.
Or maybe he did, but it wasn’t important enough to rember. Though now he was regretting it.
There was this woman who sohow managed to seduce his darling, and he had no idea about it. Not to ntion, there was also Bianca, who was eying Xion as if he were so sort of prize to win.
Xion is mine. Always. With one smooth motion, the Archduke had pulled Xion onto his lap.
The drunk healer let out a surprised little squeak but didn’t resist. He almost lted into the embrace due to his instinct.
After all, he was safest when he was with Darius.
A palm settled low around his waist, gently rubbing it. The Archduke was coaxing Xion to answer him. "Who is this ... Anya?"
The girl who’d cornered Xion on his wedding day with a bunch of other nobles. She even called him a temptress to his face, which honestly was as bad as calling him a prostitute.
He’d thought nothing of it at first. Honestly, to him, this group was like kids who seed ready to stir up trouble for the sake of it.
But later, when Gerogie Maximus explained what they had been implying, he’d finally understood just how cruel they were being.
They were trying to disgrace him, and if he didn’t manage to handle it, that would have proven the point that he was indeed not worthy to stand beside Darius.
All because that little sparrow, Anya, dread of becoming a phoenix by marrying into the Darkhelm clan.
So even now, even in his drunken haze, his mood still soured at the thought of soone seducing his lover.
Without thinking, he clung to the person.
His arms curled around the elf’s shoulders, nuzzling closer, as if hiding his face could erase the sting of that mory. This little drunkard even went so far as to wipe the stickiness from his face while he was at it.
And through it all, Darius’ hands moved over his back with deceptive gentleness. Long fingers patting softly, coaxing him to speak more.
"Tell ," Darius crooned near his ear. "Tell all about her, my dear. What did Anya say to you? What did she do?"
His tone was intoxicatingly sweet. But his eyes... they were entirely a different story.
The dullness in his eyes stirred, like a predator who’d already decided how many pieces to tear her into.
And Xion, still too drunk to notice the darkness coiling under that tender touch, simply mumbled everything.
"They called a temptress and... And said that I wasn’t worthy of you. Please don’t be seduced by Anya, okay?"
He pleaded softly. "I really won’t do anything to hurt your reputation. I will be a good boy..." he glanced up, blinking his wet eyelashes. "Can you like only ?"
The Archduke stilled. The ripple in his gaze intensified.
Oh, goddess. Darius actually prayed to a divine being in this kind of situation. Please give patience so I won’t devour Xion right on this table.
So this was what his baby had been worrying about all this ti?
There is no one in Xion’s mind other than .
Was that not such a delightful thing? So delightful that it should be celebrated by offering the goddess a few corpses as a sacrifice.
"I can only love you," he said, his thumb gently rubbing the corner of the watery eyes to wipe the tear away.
"There was only one Xion, and it will always remain like this."
Xion didn’t speak. He snuggled into his chest and let himself be rocked gently, like a fool in the arms of his beautiful nace.
"So, you will love ?"
"Yes."
"You won’t get angry at either?" His voice, due to being pressed against Darius’ chest, ca out muffled.
"No, Xion. I can’t get angry at you." Darius seed to have extre patience when he was dealing with Xion.
More like, he seed to be enjoying this. The tilt of his lips said so.
Patting his back, and kissing on the fluffy tuft of dark hair, everything ca so naturally to him as if he had been doing this for years.
The sneaky Archduke was actually shaless enough to coax the drunken fool into telling him a lot more. Like how he ended up vanishing from the resting room during their wedding.
Due to Xion’s illness, no one brought the subject up, but now seed like a good ti. Sure enough, it was that Georgie Maximus who took his sweetheart and gave him to Caspian Hale.
Co to think of it, Caspian and Anya Hale were siblings. If his mory served him right, they were the children of Viscount Hale, who was promoted to a higher status because of his son’s outstanding help to Silas Valaria.
His mind was running in many directions, and each of them ended with more blood on his hands than the last.
Just then, Xion stirred. Looking up at the green-eyed elf, he grinned. "Are you not angry anymore?"
"No." He was never angry at Xion to begin with. If soone actually managed to seduce his darling, then it only ant that he was lacking.
From this mont, he was going to increase his efforts to engrave himself so deeply into Xion that there would be no space for anyone.
"Then, can I drink more?" the flushed kitten tilted his face, blinking his big eyes.
He was seducing Darius without even knowing it.
"Answer first." A gentle kiss fell on the corner of Xion’s lip. "Do you like it when I fuck you?"
Xion nodded. "Yes."
"Will you let you tie you up again?"
"Okay-" his words ca to a screeching halt. The haze in his brain finally cleared up a bit.
Finally understanding how dangerous this question was, he instantly shut his mouth.
When he looked at his husband, he felt his heart leaping out of his chest, telling him farewell.
The system’s words finally managed to make sense to him.
Because Darius was smirking!
Xion wanted to die. Right then and there.
But since death was not an option, he did the next best thing.
He groaned, covered his face with both hands, and cursed himself aloud.
"Lords above," he mumbled into his palms. "Why was I born with a mouth? Why do I have the ability to speak? It should be illegal. Soone should take it away. Put a stitch on my mouth—do sothing before I ruin my life."
A low chuckle along with a warm breath ghosted near his ear.
"Now, now," the archduke sounded far too pleased for soone who was plotting murder just a minute ago, "why would I do that? I quite like that mouth of yours."
The blushing ss Xion, "..." Oh, dear lord up in heaven. Please have rcy on my soul... and my body!
To escape this situation as fast as possible, he ca up with a brilliant plan.
He was going to pretend to pass out. Darius wouldn’t be so shaless as to do anything with an unconscious person, right?
So, with all the grace of a man who had given up on life, Xion let his body go limp and collapsed forward—right into Darius’ waiting arms.
