This ti Xion did not use the system’s props. He did not need to.

He had been practicing his mana, and this was perfect timing to use it, and also ... Xion glanced at Joy for the one last ti before running forward. This was also his way to avenge the dead.

Many tiny mana needles shrouded Xion before swishing in the air.

They directly plunged into the body of the bigger orc, puncturing his nervous system, and killing him in one fell swoop.

The soldiers seed surprised by his delicate control over mana.

Nevertheless, they focused on the task at hand.

Lord Xion was soone his grace had taken a fancy to. It was obvious to them that this young master was no ordinary person. Sure enough, Lord Xion was just hiding his strength all along.

But they did not give it much thought. After all, they had done many such things to protect them. And more importantly, they did not have the ti to ponder on Lord Xion’s powers when they were being surrounded by flesh-eating monsters!

The battle continued for more than a quarter of an hour. If it were not for Xion’s help, this sa battle might have taken more than an hour, and that too, with even more casualties.

The last orc hit the ground with a dull thud, its lifeless body sprawled across the bloodied earth.

For a few monts, there was only silence. The rustic scent in the air beca heavy with each disappearing sunlight.

Xion’s breath ca in ragged gasps, his hands trembling at his sides. He felt the warmth of blood splattered on his face. So of it was his, so not.

The soldiers were in much better condition than him. They were now helping to tie Joy’s body in a big cloth. They were going to carry it back to the campsite.

All this ti, Xion did not look at them. He could not bring himself to do so.

Mike who had shoved him aside earlier stepped closer, scanning Xion’s pale face. His tone was careful when he spoke, "My lord, we need to move back. Is it alright if we look for those herbs later?"

Xion’s fingers curled into fists. His nails dug into his palms, yet he felt no pain. They were still worried about his orders. Even when they were at such a high risk.

Xion looked at the faces of the four soldiers staring at him.

There was a slight hope of returning but they did not let it show too much. Maybe they did not have too much expectation to begin with.

They were used to such things. Doing their mission at every cost was their motto, after all.

There was no expectation of comfort, no demand for an apology.

They had seen death before.

They had lost comrades before.

And they would keep moving forward, no matter how much it hurt.

This was how this world worked, and he being such a weak-hearted person was only making things difficult for him.

He rubbed his face, an exhausted sigh left his blood-coated lips, "Yeah. Let’s go back."

He turned away before anyone could see the way his vision blurred, the way his lips trembled, and how his legs shook with each step he took.

As they moved forward the sunlight diminished until there was only a single moon silently showing them the path back to their temporary ho.

The fragrance of fresh grass filled their lungs. However, they were in no mood to enjoy it.

Then the signs beca glaringly clear.

The first sign of trouble was the scent of blood increasing in the air.

The second was the loud screams.

Ah, Xion finally understood why the soldiers wanted to return even if they were so bound to fulfil their orders.

They were worried that they were not the only ones who were attacked by those vile creatures.

Only he was still stupidly waiting to the warm tent.

By the ti Xion and his group rushed to camp, the battle was already raging in full swing.

The night was stuffy with the sll of blood and burnt flesh. Shadows danced across the battlefield, twisted and grotesque under the flickering torchlight.

The creatures were everywhere. Monstrous things with rotting flesh clinging stubbornly to their bones claiming the humans as their food.

Their guttural growls blended into the chaotic symphony of clashing steel, the screams of the wounded, and the wet, sickening squelch of flesh being torn apart.

The orcs from the hidden dungeon must have sward the valley. They must be drawn to the scent of humans. That was the only possible reason Xion could co up with.

Soldiers fought desperately, steel clashing against flesh. Blood painted the earth. So bodies were already still, while others twitched and groaned, barely clinging to life.

For every orc they cut down, two more seed to take its place.

But Xion did not care about them.

His breath hitched as he stared at the glowing blue screen that had suddenly appeared in front of him.

[ALERT! Darius Rael Darkhelm is in critical combat!]

[SURVIVAL PROBABILITY: 46%... 39%... 32%...]

His wide eyes locked onto the battlefield ahead.

Darius was surrounded by more than ten high-level orcs! Their massive, grotesque forms were closing in like a pack of hungry wolves ready to pounce on their prey.

Ray was beside him, slashing through them with all his might, but the sheer number was overwhelming. They wouldn’t last.

Xion didn’t think. His body moved before his mind could catch up.

"Lord Xion, please stay beside us!"

Mike’s voice barely registered in his ears.

The black-haired man had already broken into a sprint, rushing straight into the heart of the chaos.

"Damn it! Lord Xion, stop!" Mike cursed, his grip tightening on his sword. He had wanted to secure Xion first before jumping into battle, but that was impossible now.

Without a choice, he followed — cutting down any orc in their path, slashing through the thick flesh of those who dared stand in Xion’s way.

Because, right now, there was no stopping him.
