Erik realized the situation was dire for the rebels. The blackguards knew all along about the Red Palace's alliance with the resistance.
Erik needed to warn Van Dyke imdiately, but couldn't leave just yet. There was sothing he still needed to confirm.
"Who was involved in the attack in Caelora City? Who coordinated the attack?"
Montum glared back, refusing to give Erik the satisfaction of an answer. Then a sneer appeared on the man's face.
"How adorable. But I'm afraid my lips are sealed. We wouldn't want to spoil the surprise, now, would we?"
Reaching out with his Instability brain crystal power, he invaded Montum's mind.
At that point, what he saw, what he felt, overwheld him. A flood of thoughts and emotions: fear, anger, and frustration.
But among them, he detected traces of mories from the Caelora City attack. Fragnts of nas and faces flashed through Montum's mind. One in particular left him shocked...
Well, he wasn't that surprised, to be honest, but still, knowing that man was the one manipulating the attack on him, It stung, and a lot at that.
Erik felt betrayed because among Montum's team mbers, along with Zakir and so other high-ranking officers, was Uncle Benjamin.
What was the most surprising thing in all of this was that Montum referred to Uncle Benjamin with the codena Levium, Blackguards' rank: Vindicator.
