Chapter 224: Chapter 5: One Stroke, Beheaded! Chapter 224: Chapter 5: One Stroke, Beheaded! “Danger?”
Feng Yin seed puzzled.
What happened to the small pine tree? Or what did it co across?
Just then, the sounds of battle drew closer, muffled shouts of anger were noticeable, accompanied by a loud resonance, like weapons clashing.
The noise was approaching.
Feng Yin instantly took cover. A tree, its branches, and leaves rapidly flourished, hiding him from sight.
A strand of ink silkworm thread was effortlessly thrown out.
Caught by the roots of the small pine tree, it branched out in multiple directions at once.
Several roots broke the surface, each catching onto a strand of the thread.
Feng Ying swiftly landed on another small tree, with its white fur instantly taking on the sa color as the tree.
Even Feng Yin, gazing intently, couldn’t perceive it.
Huh, when did this little being acquire this ability? It can change color?
Unexpectedly, a burly figure burst through the treetops, brandishing a broadsword, laughing sinisterly.
“Run! Where are these little rabbits running off to?”
Up ahead, two blood-soaked youths stumbled and ran towards Feng Yin. But as soon as they saw the people in front, they turned pale.
The path ahead was blocked.
Chasers were on their trail.
This was a dead end.
Despair flashed across their faces, “Li Zhengyun, you scoundrel! For all your wrongdoings, you’ll co to a bad end!”
The burly middle-aged man sneered, “Killing you two will finally clear the leftover filth from the past. As for my end, you won’t be around to know.”
Whizz, whizz, whizz. Figures descended from all sides, sealing off all escape routes for the two youths.
Each carried either a sword or a dagger, glinting ominously.
“Li Zhengyun, you vandalized graves and slaughtered innocent people over the years while living comfortably with a clear conscience?” one of the youths shouted dramatically.
“Yes, I eat well and sleep soundly. Unlike you, who did not vandalize nor slaughter, you are now the only survivors,” Li Zhengyun mocked.
“You dare to seek revenge in this way? Absolutely despicable!”
Fury flared in the eyes of the youth, “Unfortunately, you saw through our plans.”
Li Chengyun responded, “You think you’re handso and can win over my daughter’s affection, causing her such pain. Are you any better?”
The youth sneered, “When you wanted to seize the ancestral graveyard, you only offered one thousand taels. When you didn’t get your way, you massacred innocents. Did you consider this?”
“When you, Li Zhengyun, were destitute and at death’s door, locals saved you. They sheltered you. Helped establish your family. They were as kind to you as a mountain is large. How did you respond?”
“Saying you repaid kindness with enmity wouldn’t do justice to your actions. The village raised money to heal your injuries, buy dicine, and find a doctor… When you got rich and successful, you murdered everyone!”
The outraged youth cried, “Do you have a shred of conscience left? Do you have any humanity?”
Li Zhengyun roared furiously, “So, seducing my daughter is a noble act?”
Both youths resentfully responded, “Any opportunity to hurt you, to make you suffer, no matter how vile or beneath resistance, if it’s there, then we won’t hold back!”
With this information, Feng Yin finally understood.
So this guy was Li Zhengyun, the target of the Gold Rank assassin.
He made it onto the hit-list because he massacred half of the village.
Certainly, not a good person.
Especially after hearing what the two youths had to say, this Li Chengyun was one dreadful character.
Ungrateful, vengeful, inhumane, malicious.
However, Feng Yin couldn’t agree with the thod used by the two youths.
If you’re seeking revenge on Li Zhengyun, go ahead, but using a young girl’s emotions to achieve your purposes, Feng Yin would never endorse such a thing, regardless of the magnitude of the grudge.
“Because of you two curs, my daughter can’t eat or sleep. She’s been washing her face with tears!”
Li Zhengyun gritted his teeth in anger.
While murdering the village, these two scoundrels weren’t present, escaping the massacre. Turns out they sohow found a master, beca martial artists, and returned to seek revenge.
Knowing they stood no chance, rather than challenging him in a fight – where they’d likely be caught in a few moves – they decided to exploit his daughter.
They seduced Li Zhengyun’s daughter, won her heart, and then left her heartbroken.
This infuriated Li Zhengyun.
“Seize them!”
The dozen or so experts attacked simultaneously.
The youths tried to fight back, but landed on the ground tied up after a few moves.
Li Zhengyun approached them.
“I, Li Zhengyun, have done nurous wicked things in my life; I’ve hardly done any good deeds, I am aware of it. But you seduced my daughter and left her heartbroken. You kept appearing and disappearing before her, hurting her repeatedly. Is this a noble act?”
Li Zhengyun’s beard bristled in rage, “Torture them well. Make them wish they were dead!”
Amidst screams, torture ensued.
Feng Yin loosely held a knife, eyeing the back of Li Zhengyun.
He had no intention of intervening.
Although Feng Yin was aware that Li Zhengyun was his target and luck had brought him here, an opportunity bestowed by heaven.
He must be killed.
But, he had no plans to save the two youths.
Both were far from innocent.
One was utterly ruthless, the other resorting to petty tricks.
Maybe so people would feel that for the sake of revenge, Li Zhengyun’s daughter is enough reason to get killed. Despite that, there are so things a man should and should not do.
The youth’s words, “Any opportunity to hurt you, to make you suffer, no matter how vile or beneath resistance, if it’s there, then we won’t hold back!” left a bad impression on Feng Yin.
If one day, you found so innocent people that could effectively strike back at Li Zhengyun, would you slaughter those innocents too?
Flesh flew and blood splattered.
From the two youths ca curses and insults which quickly turned into screams, howls, and pleas for rcy.
However, Li Zhengyun and his n did not hold back even slightly as the youths were tortured beyond recognition.
“You must pay the price for your deeds!”
Li Zhengyun grabbed a youth by his collar, his eyes focusing on a protruding dry branch. With a loud thud, the youth’s screams turned into a sharp wail coming from the depths of his soul.
Blood mixed with a black substance, flowing down like a stream.
This withered branch was just next to the small tree where Feng Ying was hiding.
A few droplets of black blood sprayed onto the small tree.
Swish!
A green leaf rustled open with a swish.
“Huh?”
Li Zhengyun’s eyes imdiately narrowed.
Stepping forward to examine it.
There wasn’t a breath of wind; the other leaves and grass showed no reaction. Yet, this leaf moved?
What … what’s happening?
At that mont.
Feng Yin moved like lightning.
Draw the blade.
The mont he stood up, it was as if the sky had suddenly collapsed!
Covering ten feet in a blink of an eye.
A sword filled with majestic celestial might, fell with overwhelming force!
The blade of chaos.
In the darkness, the blade shone, bringing forth light!
“Watch out!”
A warning, but before it was finished, the sword had reached Li Zhengyun’s shoulder.
At that critical mont when Li Zhengyun was just about to bend over to examine the small tree, the blade was upon him!
Just in the nick of ti.
Li Zhengyun didn’t have ti to draw his sword from its scabbard, he roared, turned around while simultaneously using his sheathed sword to block the attack.
Clang!
The blade struck the sword’s scabbard; Li Zhengyun didn’t even have ti to exert his strength.
He forcefully twisted his shoulder…
With a thud, the scabbard and the sword inside it broke in two!
And Li Zhengyun’s shoulder was drenched in blood.
He only managed to turn halfway, and the blow, like a thunderbolt, ca crashing down on him.
The scabbard along with the sword had blocked the blow; the blade only cut three inches into his body but didn’t sever the shoulder in one go!
“Ah…”
Li Zhengyun scread, his body rolling forward like a whirlwind, hitting the small tree where Feng Ying was hiding with a thud. He imdiately turned and leaned against the tree, his face pale from the pain.
His right arm was hanging limply; the attack hadn’t severed it, but it had severed the muscles and veins.
“Who are you?”
Li Zhengyun croaked.
In front of him, Feng Yin, masked and ard, relentlessly pursued him without any signs of backing off.
Still the sa blade.
The blade of chaos.
Li Zhengyun’s martial power was definitely superior to Feng Yin’s, but his swordsmanship was far inferior. Moreover, the sharpness of that blade had exceeded all of Li Zhengyun’s expectations.
Even though he was wearing an armor said to be impervious to swords and spears.
But that blade still cut him as if cutting through decayed wood.
This made Li Zhengyun imdiately realize: this person’s martial arts is far superior to mine!
Seeing the opponent lift his sword again with an overpowering aura that he couldn’t resist, Li Zhengyun scread hastily, “I am an emissary of the Dongfang Clan…”
Feng Yin’s sword had already fallen!
To him, nothing else mattered!
What mattered was: you are on the hit list. For slaughtering the innocent and harming civilians, I will kill you!
The sword light was like snow, and Li Zhengyun strained to block with half a sword. Other experts from all sides rushed in desperately.
All of them could see that Li Zhengyun was in mortal danger.
At that mont, Feng Ying sneakily revealed himself from the small tree that Li Zhengyun was leaning on, with a wind blade already in his small paw.
He leaped silently into the air.
Like a green leaf falling from the tree.
A silent blade followed the wound on Feng Yin’s shoulder and stabbed in ruthlessly.
One wind blade after another…
Kept appearing!
Li Zhengyun’s screams were already incoherent!
“I am from Dongfang…”
He had never thought that the opponent would have such blatant disregard for the biggest leverage he had – his backing.
Even less did he expect that there was an assassin on the small tree he was leaning against, who was far more terrifying than the person in front of him!
A blade stabbed into his abdon; he didn’t even have ti to react; the feeling was very faint…
But after several continuous stabs, his belly was cut to shreds.
Clang, clang, clang…
Several wind blades were thrown out; the rushing experts desperately dodged and blocked them.
And then.
Feng Yin roared loudly, and the blade of chaos fell with an unstoppable force.
Just as Li Zhengyun was spread too thin, the blade struck his neck!
Blood splattered everywhere.
A human head, with an expression of extre pain and disbelief, flew into the air.
……
[I wrote this chapter twice. After finishing the first draft, I rewrote the revenge of the two young n. After all, a revenger may not always act in a just way.]
