Kagoshima is located in the southernmost tip of Kyushu Island, one of Japan’s four main islands, with warm and wet subtropical climate. It has a total area of 9167 square kiloters, from Satsuma, to two big peninsulas, and Tanegashima. Beside Yakushima and Amami islands, from North to South, there was a total of 145 outlying islands.
