Mike pulled his sword free and exhaled slowly.

The mont the skeletal mage died, the remaining undead reacted.

Without a controller, they didn’t stop.

They went berserk.

Skeletons howled and rushed toward Mike, Elina, and Seris from all sides. Heavy units dragged broken weapons behind them, while faster ones leaped from rooftops and alleys.

Mike looked around and spoke calmly.

"Finish them," he said. "Then we escort the villagers to the city."

Both girls nodded.

"Understood," Elina said, raising her staff.

Seris activated another device. "I’ll thin them out."

Mike moved first.

He stepped into the incoming wave, sword flashing. Each strike crushed bone or cut through joints, dropping undead one after another. He didn’t even had to use his sword art as the Sword Saint and Grand weapon mastery was enough to kill them all easily.

Zephyr returned in a silver blur, ripping through the last of the archers and leaping straight into the streets. The wolf struck fast, tearing apart skulls and spines before the undead could react.

Pyra coiled and slamd its body down, flas spreading across the ground. The fire burned through bones and armor alike, turning clusters of undead into ash.

Elina was like nature herself, her vines shot all around wrapping around undeads and crashing them to death as many flowers blooms and released powerful rays like attack the obliterated the undeads.

Seris deployed two golem units. They charged into the thickest groups, smashing skeletons apart and keeping pressure off the others.

The fight didn’t last long.

Within minutes, the streets were covered in broken bones and ash. The last undead fell, crushed under Pyra’s coils.

Silence returned to the village.

Mike wiped his blade and looked toward the chief’s house.

"It’s clear," he said. "Elina, open the barrier."

Elina nodded and lowered her staff.

The erald vines slowly pulled back and sank into the ground.

A few seconds later, a hidden door beneath the house opened.

Inside were villagers holding makeshift weapons. When they realized the people outside were humans—not undead—they relaxed slightly, though they remained cautious.

Mike stepped forward and spoke calmly.

"The undead are gone," he said. "You’re safe for now. We’ll escort you to the nearest city."

Relief spread through the group. So villagers fell to their knees. Others started crying openly.

Seris looked around at the ruined village. "Pack only what you really need," she said. "Once you’re ready, we’ll move to the nearest city."

The villagers nodded and began coming out of the bunker. They spread out, entering houses to gather food, clothes, and tools that were still usable.

After a mont, an older man stepped forward.

"Can we stay a little longer?" he asked Mike carefully.

Mike turned to him. "Do you need sothing?"

The man shook his head. "We’ve been in the bunker for over two days. Most of us haven’t eaten properly. If possible, we want to cook and eat before leaving. The road to the next city will take many days."

Mike thought for a mont, then nodded. "Alright. We can wait."

He turned and gave short orders.

"Zephyr. Pyra. Hunt."

The silver wolf and the volcanic python headed toward the forest without hesitation.

They returned less than an hour later.

Zephyr dragged the body of a large forest boar, its hide thick and cleanly killed.

Pyra brought two more, roasted slightly by its own heat.

The villagers stared in shock.

Seris blinked. "...That should feed all villagers."

Mike nodded. "Start cooking. We’ll keep watch."

Fires were lit in the village square. at was cleaned, cut, and cooked. The sll of food spread through the air, lifting spirits almost imdiately.

Elina treated minor injuries and exhaustion while the children watched the food being cooked, their eyes fixed on the flas and roasting at.

Mike helped where he could—carrying supplies, and clearing debris. Seris, anwhile, was busy at the edge of the village, activating her class skills.

tal plates, enchanted wood, and mana cores floated in the air as she worked.

Mike paused and stared at the structure forming.

"...That looks more like a bus than a carriage," he muttered.

The carriage Seris was building was huge—wide, boxy, reinforced on all sides, with thick wheels and layered armor.

Soon, the food was ready. Everyone ate properly for the first ti in days. After that, the villagers gathered their belongings.

Those who could fight stayed outside as escorts. The elderly, children, and injured boarded the large carriage.

Zephyr was brought forward to pull it.

Mike frowned slightly as he saw Seris fastening the reins to Zephyr’s harness.

"Can’t you make a carriage that moves on its own?" Mike asked.

Seris blinked.

"...A carriage that moves on its own?" Her eyes lit up. "That’s a great idea."

She imdiately let go of the reins and turned back to the carriage.

Elina sighed. "Seris, now?"

"One hour," Seris said quickly. "Maybe less."

Mike looked at Zephyr, then at the villagers. "We can wait."

Seris got to work again. She dismantled part of the front fra, pulled out a mana core, and began carving new runes. Golem-style joints ford beneath the carriage, and thin mana channels spread through its body.

After so ti, she finally stepped back.

"...Done."

She tapped the side of the carriage.

The wheels turned on their own.

The carriage moved forward slowly, then stopped exactly where she wanted.

Seris smiled proudly. "I used the sa control system as my golems. Now I can control its direction and speed freely."

Mike nodded. "That’s useful."

Elina looked at the moving carriage, impressed. "This will make the trip much safer."

With everything ready, Mike raised his hand.

"Alright," he said. "We move out."

The caravan slowly left the ruined village, heading toward the nearest city, with Mike and the others guarding the front and rear.

They started moving as Mike was at the rear with Elina while Seris was on top of the carriage controlling it and on both sides were four of her golem knights in each side.

Even the villagers who can fight were now equipped with weapons created and their older weapons reinforced by Seris making them much more powerful.
