She quickly picked up the phone and began to call, trying to gather more information about the case.

"Captain, we’ve checked all the stores, but no one rembers selling an electric actuator to any suspicious person recently," Officer Yang reported with a frown.
Captain Johnson rubbed his temples, feeling a splitting headache. "What about the spring guns? Any leads?"
"Not yet, Captain. But we are still working hard. We’ve contacted so underground dealers, and they said they’ll let us know if there’s any news," Officer Yang answered.
Captain Johnson nodded. "Keep at it. We can’t let this case go unresolved. The public is watching us."
In the days that followed, news about the live broadcast murder case was everywhere. People had different opinions. So praised the mysterious broadcaster for bringing justice, while others condemned his actions as vigilante justice.

New York, this bustling tropolis known as "The Big Apple," is famous for its dazzling neon lights, incessant crowds, and towering skyscrapers. However, on what seed like an ordinary night, a live broadcast murder case, like a blockbuster bomb, completely shattered the tranquility of the city and plunged the New York Police Departnt into an unprecedented predicant.
As the night engulfed the city completely, the bustle of New York did not diminish in the slightest. On Fifth Avenue, in the Manhattan District, a black luxury sports car was parked on the side of the road, surrounded by flashing police lights that lit the scene as bright as day. Nearby, the police cordon had been set up, and the onlooking crowds were densely packed outside the cordon, whispering among themselves with expressions of shock and curiosity.
"What on earth is going on?" A young man in casual attire craned his neck, trying to see what was happening inside the cordon, while his companion beside him shook his head helplessly.
"I heard soone was murdered live on the stream, dismbered right in front of so many people!" A nearby auntie’s voice trembled, and her eyes revealed deep fear.
At the sa ti, inside the New York Police Departnt Headquarters building, the atmosphere was so heavy it was suffocating. Chief Jack Thompson sat at the head of the conference room, his complexion as dark as the sky before a storm. His fingers rhythmically tapped the tabletop, producing a dull sound, each tap resonating like a heartbeat in everyone present.
"Ladies and gentlen, the nature of this case is extrely heinous," Jack Thompson’s voice was low and powerful, breaking the silence in the room, "Right under our noses, in front of millions of viewers, such a tragedy occurred. This is an outright provocation to our New York Police Departnt!"
Sitting opposite him, Homicide Squad Captain Alex Johnson, slightly furrowed his brow, fatigue evident in his eyes. From the mont the case broke, he had been racing around at the scene, directing officers in their investigative and evidence-gathering efforts, but so far, there had been little progress.
"Chief, we received the ergency call from the victim, Alexander Morrison, at 9:56 PM," Alex Johnson stood up to brief everyone on the case, "Just one minute later, nearby precincts and the headquarters dispatched police forces. However, by the ti we arrived at the scene, Alexander had already been brutally dismbered."
A slight stir rippled through the conference room at these words. Deputy Chief Emily White couldn’t help interjecting, "How could this happen? We acted swiftly enough, how were we still a step too late?"
Alex Johnson sighed helplessly before continuing, "According to preliminary investigations, the ultra-fine steel wire used for the dismbernt is sold in less than ten stores throughout New York City. Moreover, the spring-loaded gun fixed behind the car seat is a prohibited item, only likely to be found on the black market."
"Have we found any leads on the suspect?" Jack Thompson asked urgently, his gaze fixed on Alex Johnson.
Alex Johnson shook his head, his expression growing somber, "Chief, the suspect is a top-notch hacker. According to Li from our cyber surveillance departnt, Li Ming’s report, we’re completely unable to trace his registration information and IP address. Moreover, the substantial funds rewarded by viewers at the end of the live stream have vanished without a trace; we are currently investigating the direction of the funds with full force."
"Even Li Ming can’t crack it? He’s our departnt’s technical expert!" Emily White exclaid in surprise, her face filled with confusion.
"Li Ming says the perpetrator’s hacking skills are at least a notch above his own. Even on an international level, they definitely rank at the top," Alex Johnson explained, his voice revealing a sense of helplessness.
Jack Thompson pondered for a mont, then decisively stated, "Now, we must act imdiately. Tom, lead Squad Three and follow up on the leads related to the steel wire and spring-loaded gun. There are only a few stores in New York City that sell the wire, along with those black-market channels; investigate them one by one and do whatever it takes to locate the suspect!"
"Yes, Chief!" Tom Williams stood up, responding loudly, determination evident in his eyes.
"Emily, you take Squad Two and pull a few more people from the cyber surveillance departnt to thoroughly trace the flow of funds," Jack Thompson continued, "This is an important clue; the funds’ trajectory may help us find the suspect’s trail."
"Understood, Chief! I will not overlook any detail," Emily White nodded, her expression turning serious.
"Alex, you take Squad One and work with Li Ming from the cyber surveillance departnt to focus on investigating the hacker’s trail and the subsequent work at the scene," Jack Thompson looked at Alex Johnson, speaking earnestly, "A top-tier hacker like the murderer should be well-known in the hacking circle. Try to start from there; it might offer a breakthrough."
"Rest assured, Chief, I will give it my all," Alex Johnson nodded solemnly, his eyes betraying a relentless determination.
Everyone rose to their feet, responding in unison. Jack Thompson looked at his capable subordinates with satisfaction, nodding and saying, "Everyone is aware, this case has garnered society-wide attention, and we’re under enormous pressure from above. So, our primary task at this mont is to solve this case. Squads One, Two, and Three, you must coordinate well, share information and connect all the dots, and not let any clue slip through the cracks! We must apprehend the murderer as soon as possible!"
