"Comrade Lin Mo is right. If we do not tily upgrade the J-10’s system, even if the vectoring engine passes the wind tunnel tests, there will be no prototype available for experintation,"
After listening to Lin Mo’s explanation, Academician Li nodded earnestly and said, "Hu, it seems your work is much more important than ours."
"We old folks overlooked it, to perfectly fit the vectoring engine to the fighter jet, the improvents needed aren’t just about the engine’s position, but also other aspects of the design,"
"What Lin Mo ntioned is just one point, there’s also the need to adjust the avionics system, radar system, and even the cruise and autopilot systems,"
"Otherwise, if the autopilot misreads the engine’s direction, it could easily lead to a series of dangers,"
The other two academicians also nodded repeatedly.
Their expertise was primarily in engines, and they had only a basic understanding of the other components of the fighter jet, which they were not as familiar with.
That’s quite normal.
The fighter jet, as humanity’s most advanced aircraft, is nearly always fitted with the world’s top technology, so of which is so advanced that the public is completely unaware of it.
Being thoroughly knowledgeable in one field is enough to earn the title of academician. Expecting soone to understand every aspect is probably beyond any expert or professor in the world.
The differences between fields are stark.
Even scientists who have spent their whole lives working on fire control systems would be at a loss when faced with other components.
It’s much like doctors in a hospital.
Surgery is distinct from internal dicine, and while they are all doctors, their work rarely overlaps.
"Comrade Lin Mo has thought of a comprehensive solution," Director Hu said with a grave expression, nodding. "I know what to do next. A part of the J-10 delta wing fighter jet is produced in our factory, and we have experts on every component. I’ll convene a eting when I get back and we can develop a plan."
"However, there is a problem. Comrade Lin Mo, how can we determine the specific aspects to be modified and to what standard?"
"After all, with a vectoring engine, all we’ve seen is a video from abroad, at most we can estimate the adjustnt angle of the exhaust nozzle, but we can’t see its internal structure."
"And while our planes are similar to Russia’s, they are fundantally different from the Western models, so the angle of the vectoring engine’s nozzles can’t possibly be designed according to theirs, right?"
Fighter jets are incredibly precise; a small deviation can lead to a large error. A minor oversight or mistake could an equipnt doesn’t fit, or worse, it could cause catastrophic failure and loss of life.
This is a result that none of them wishes to see.
If Lin Mo raised the issue, it ant he already had a solution in mind.
He took out a stack of docunts from the drawer nearby and handed them to Director Hu, then cautioned, "I’ve calculated carefully and identified the aspects that need changing, and I have also written down the general requirents and scope."
"It’s okay if you don’t know how to proceed, as long as you try to solve the problems according to my requirents as much as possible."
Lin Mo only had the final answer; he didn’t have solutions for the problems that might arise during the process.
But that’s okay,
Research and developnt often ans facing an unknown problem, or even having no idea how to progress step by step, which naturally makes it impossible to achieve significant breakthroughs.
Now that Lin Mo could set out requirents and identify problems, it was like placing targets on a shooting range.
With clearly defined targets, the next step was to find related researchers and try their best to et all of Lin Mo’s demands.
Although it still posed great challenges, it was by far better than floundering without direction.
Director Hu solemnly took the docunts from Lin Mo’s hand, glanced over them, and excitedly said, "Comrade Lin Mo, you’ve really helped out a lot!"
"Rest assured, within two months, I will lead my team to produce three J-10 delta wing fighter jets that et your requirents," Hu pledged.
Lin Mo nodded and replied with a smile, "That would be great. If there’s no problem on your side, we won’t have too many issues here."
"Gentlen, now that the tasks have been assigned, everyone can get busy,"
"Academician Li, we should also design the materials for the vectoring engine as soon as possible,"
Each person, unable to hide their excitent, quickly left the dormitory’s main door and, escorted by their respective security officers, headed to their work areas.
They split into three groups, with Lin Mo accompanying Academician Li to the Aerospace Materials Research Institute.
The institute occupied a vast area with a beautiful environnt, complete with specialized experintal buildings and dedicated housing for faculty and students.
That’s right.
Beyond conducting research, every departnt within the military factory also had the responsibility to train students.
However, due to the high level of secrecy, only the top students from military academies with clean backgrounds and a patriotic spirit were allowed to study deeply here.
While walking, Academician Li explained, "Comrade Lin Mo, don’t assu that just because this is the Imperial Capital First Military Factory and I am from another military factory, I don’t visit often. I’ve been here many tis and have witnessed many specialists in aerospace leave here to contribute to the arms and equipnt developnt in various departnts of our motherland."
