Vernon understood her thoughts and sighed at how understanding she was of the situation. It really is risky to let others know of the kidnapping matter right now.
Helena pursed her lips and did not speak anything.
Father Ford sighed. He scooched towards her and grabbed her free hand, "Helena, dear. I know you are angry with . I can understand your anger. I won’t justify myself.
"But listen to now. I know you might think that your wedding with Vernon was for nothing else but for our business.
"Vernon, I know that you might think the sa as well. But don’t forget that you both are our children. We, as parents, love you both so much. Just for a little profit in our businesses, we would never think of sacrificing our children’s happiness. Our priority was always for both of your happiness. We have seen you both grow up in front of our eyes. We know that you will be happy together. We know that when you are together, you will lead the best life. As parents, we never wanted anything more than that.
"I don’t know what reason you have that you are postponing your honeymoon. But, children, I am telling this for your good. If the matter wasn’t sothing you could avoid, please go on your honeymoon. Okay?"
Helena and Vernon blinked their eyes.
Actually, the matter of one’s honeymoon was supposed to be intimate between a wife and the husband. But listening to Father Ford’s words, why does it sound more of an emotional matter than an intimate one?
The looked at each other. They saw the sa expression on each other’s faces and were stumped for words.
[Seriously, how are we perfect for each other? If I have no words, he should be able to do that, and when he does not know what to do, I should be able to help. But look at us. It is almost like we share the sa brain cell. When we fight, we fight the sa till the end. When we talk, we can talk for hours as well. And when one can’t speak, it is like the other loses their tongue as well. Is this how it really should be with partners?]
Vernon heard her thoughts and actually felt that she was right.
A couple should complent each other. But here they both are the sa as the other. They should suit being friends compared to being partners for life, right?
He never had such a thought before. He thought they were perfect for each other.
He couldn’t help but think back to his previous life.
Actually, what she said did happen with them.
Instead of being the sa type of person, at so point, they started to complent each other.
As ti passed by, they started to change, and their compatibility changed as well.
In this life, all those experiences have yet to happen for them to slowly turn to complent each other.
He could slowly start to understand what Father Ford was saying with this thought.
He wanted them to go on this trip so they would bond with each other, and their journey towards complenting each other would start.
As he started understanding Father Ford’s intentions, he couldn’t ignore them anymore. It was the concern of a father for his daughter’s life. It would be an insult to a father’s love to ignore them.
He squeezed Helena’s hand that he had been holding and nodded imdiately, "We will go."
Helena looked at him in shock, "What...?"
Vernon squeezed her hand once again to stop her from speaking further, "Let’s go."
Helena frowned. She did not understand why he said that suddenly.
[Since we can’t escape going to this trip, it is indeed better to go and finish this. Even Grace ca to earlier to mock about this. It would be better to go and get this over with. But what about Sister Jemma and her sister? Can we really leave at such a ti?]
Vernon was stunned. Helena t Grace? He was sure that Helena did not go anywhere but went directly to her office. So, Grace went to Helena’s office? Why?
He rembered that she wasn’t working at Ford’s yet. Then what work did she have here?
Also, she mocked Helena about their delayed honeymoon trip?
He never thought that Grace was such a person. How could a friend do that to her friend?
He suddenly realized that he never understood won.
He sighed to himself in defeat. But underneath that defeat started a small fire of determination of an unknown source and aning.
"It’s okay. Just trust ," Vernon leaned towards Helena’s ear and whispered softly.
Helena wanted to say sothing but she looked at his eyes, no words ca out of her lips. She just nodded in a daze.
"That’s great. Okay, you kids have fun now. I am leaving," Father Ford left the office like soone just gave him steroids.
Once he was out of the office, Vernon released Helena’s hand and she asked him, "Are you sure about this? What were you thinking? I still don’t understand how we can leave when Sister Jemma is in trouble."
"Relax, will you? No one is in trouble. Everything was planned out. There is nothing for to do anymore. Just by staying in the city, what will we achieve? It might even raise doubts in outsiders. Since we decided to keep the matter under wraps, we shouldn’t let anyone doubt anything, right? So, let’s just go. Don’t think too much. This matter wasn’t related to us both directly anyway," Vernon tried his best to calm her down so that she wouldn’t think too much.
He realized recently that this young lady tends to think more than she needs to.
Helena blinked her eyes.
[Yes, he is right. The one kidnapped wasn’t soone I am close to. She is just Sister Jemma’s sister, whom I t once in a while and never really had a close conversation with. Why am I changing my schedule for her sake? I think my thoughts were a bit exaggerated.
[Also, after the fiasco at the wedding caused by Vernon, there still lingered many doubts about our relationship. That wouldn’t do any good to our stocks. It would be better to use this opportunity to show that the Fords and Jefferys are as close as ever and there is nothing wrong with our relationship.]
She nodded, "Okay."
Vernon blinked his eyes. Once again, she thought too much, but he had no words.
After a couple of minutes, he opened his lips to speak about rlin, but before he could say a word, soone knocked on the door and entered.
It was a manager who brought a file for Helena to check.
"Okay, you get back to work. I am leaving now. We can talk once you are ho." Vernon got up from his seat and said.
Helena nodded, "Okay."
Vernon planted a light kiss on her cheek before exiting her office.
Helena was stunned for a second but imdiately understood his intentions. There were outsiders present. They should portray that they are a happy couple who are still in their honeymoon period.
[That was good.] She thought to herself and got back to work.

"Did they get the results?" rlin asked.
"Yes, Boss. They got them at noon." Dawn replied imdiately.
rlin frowned. He saw that his phone was still dark. He unlocked it to check for any notifications he had missed but there were none.
"If they got the results, then why didn’t she call ?" rlin asked in a low voice.
"Maybe they are thinking about how to talk to you?" Dawn tried to justify on behalf of Helena and Vernon.
Since knowing that he was Helena’s cousin, rlin has been antsy. He was waiting for Helena’s call.
He was waiting for her to tell him that he was her brother and she was his sister.
Even though he still did not know how or why they were related exactly, finding that he had a cute sister as Helena made him feel happy.
He looked at his phone every minute to see if she was calling him but he missed but there was nothing.
Slowly, his hope started to turn into dejection.
"Maybe she doesn’t want as her brother?" rlin asked again.
"How could that be, boss? Don’t you rember how good your relationship with Miss Helena was? She would be ecstatic when she found this news," Dawn said.
He never knew that his boss could be so pessimistic before. He tried his best to make him calm down but as ti passed, rlin’s negative thoughts only grew.
rlin looked at him and asked in slight hope, "Is that so? Did Helena like before? Or did I make any mistakes in front of her and her image of might have turned bad at so point?"
"Boss, how could that be?" Dawn wanted to cry but there were no tears in his eyes.
