As the saying goes, "A brave man will erge under a heavy reward."

The reward Monroe offered was enough to drive anyone mad with desire. After all, the position of a marshal's adjutant was equivalent to that of a legion commander. For these ordinary soldiers, it represented imnse power, status, wealth, and dignity!

Moreover, there was also the rare opportunity to carve new secret runes, an extrely precious chance. The forr represented wealth and status, while the latter symbolized power.

In other words, by severing Sterl's head, one could soar to the heavens, rising from an ordinary soldier to a high-ranking figure.

The children of their descendants would also be able to prosper due to their existence, their families soaring to greater heights along with them!

Not only that, but the soldiers of the Dream Spirit Empire were never those who feared death. Even without such a heavy reward, under the influence of secret rune resonance and their own willpower, they were inherently fearless in battle.

After all, they were warriors who had fought their way out of the sea of blood, having seen countless bloody scenes in war.

Thus, these soldiers beca increasingly fervent. The fact that their comrade had been slain by Sterl did not instill fear in them. Such events were trivial in the face of war.

Seeing this, a solemn expression flashed in Sterl's eyes. Compared to the soldiers around him, the elite troops hidden in the shadows—who might ambush him at any mont—were a far greater threat.

However, these soldiers' attacks were not to be underestimated. One careless move, and dozens, even hundreds, of spears could turn him into a pincushion!

Even so, Sterl had no intention of activating his Star-Bone Body for the mont.

The Power of Star-Bone was still plentiful, his physical stamina was sufficient, and his vitality was even more abundant. Even if his head or heart sustained fatal damage, it would not be enough to kill him instantly.

Rather than using Star-Bone Body to eliminate these threats, Sterl was more inclined to use this opportunity to refine his swordsmanship.

He realized that, in this high-pressure environnt, his understanding of swordsmanship was rapidly increasing.

Of course, this improvent could not compare to the progress made within the Land of All Beings, but it was extrely swift in absorbing the remnants of the Nightmare Overlord's sword techniques!

After all, the Nightmare Overlord was a master-level swordsmanship expert. Even the remnants of a few techniques could provide him with a trendous boost.

If he could absorb all the swordsmanship secrets contained within these remnants, internalize them as his own understanding, perhaps his swordsmanship would rise directly to the master level!

'Overlord Sword · Chā!'

In an instant, the Sword of the World in Sterl's hand glowed with a red light, and its sharp edge cut through all the incoming weapons around him, cleaving them in half.

At that mont, his Dinsion Perception gave a warning. The residual soul fragnts of the Nightmare Overlord's techniques began to be rapidly absorbed, and Sterl imdiately formulated several strategies to deal with the enemies behind him.

Whoosh!!

The Sword of the World spun in his hand, its force flowing in a unique manner. A faint green glow appeared along the blade, and at that mont, the speed at which the sword swung drastically increased. It seed to transcend space itself, directly appearing behind him.

Bang!

A curved dagger was cleaved to pieces by the Sword of the World. The terrifying weight and sharpness of the blade, combined with the speed and power unleashed by Sterl, caused the dagger to shatter while simultaneously ripping the centurion behind it into pieces.

After eliminating the ambusher, Sterl felt rejuvenated. He imdiately entered his battle stance, swinging his longsword faster and faster. His montum grew heavier and more ferocious!

Even as the million-strong army around him charged full force, and hidden elite soldiers continuously made their moves, none could break through the montum Sterl was generating in the mont.

At the back of the battlefield, Monroe calmly watched everything unfold, showing no surprise at the power Sterl was displaying.

Though confident and sowhat proud, he understood that the title of War Demon was not a boast or an exaggeration.

To him, no matter how much power or hidden cards Sterl revealed, it was to be expected. He would never be caught off guard by it.

However, equally, Monroe knew that for this legendary adversary, he would use all his strength to ensure it was slain.

With a thought, the heavily armored legion surrounding Sterl slowly parted to create a path. The ground trembled rapidly as a result.

Sterl focused his gaze and saw a thousand-strong Radiant heavy cavalry charging towards him!

The speed of these heavy cavalry was incredible, as the Crimson Fla Dragon Horses beneath them carried terrifying montum as they charged.

Though a thousand-strong cavalry, the force they generated was akin to that of a million-strong army!

In the blink of an eye, the cavalry reached Sterl. His gaze sharpened as his arm muscles suddenly tensed. The red glow on the Sword of the World intensified to its peak.

'Overlord Sword · Chā!!'

With the sword raised high, he swung it down forcefully!

The Overlord Sword · Chā, pushed to its utmost limit, released an aura as heavy as a mountain. However, when the two forces collided, a faint golden light suddenly radiated from the Radiant heavy cavalry!

The golden light resembled chains, linking the over a thousand Radiant heavy cavalry together.

In that mont, the aura of these thousand heavy cavalry soldiers surged exponentially, as if the strength of a thousand n had been condensed into a single point, making them invulnerable and capable of breaking through anything!

"Ah!! Die! Nightmare!!"

The heavy cavalryman directly facing Sterl let out a roar, thrusting his lance towards him. The power of the thousand cavalry charged together, all of it focused into this soldier's body, causing it to gradually collapse.

Boom!!

As the lance clashed with the sword, the heavy cavalryman was instantly turned into a mist of blood. The surrounding Radiant heavy cavalryn were sent flying in all directions, as though they were ants caught in a hurricane, thrown aside in chaos.

In the blink of an eye, at least a hundred Radiant heavy cavalryn, along with their horses, perished on the spot.

However, Sterl was also suffering.

At the mont of the clash, it felt as though he had been ramd by a raging Starry Sky Behemoth. Every inch of his flesh and blood groaned in pain.

The charging power of the thousand cavalryn was all poured into his body, directly reaching the limit of what his body could withstand.

The force of this strike was even more terrifying than that of the Ancient Behemoth Fay!

Fortunately, with the aid of his overbearing physique, his body remained firmly rooted in place, leaving a shallow pit with a diater of several hundred ters in the earth.

If his body had been sent flying, the relentless charge of the cavalry would never have ceased, until he was completely overwheld.

But before he could recover, the surrounding heavily armored soldiers once again surrounded him, launching another brutal attack.

Clang!

A clear, sharp ringing of steel echoed in his ears, and his Dinsion Perception imdiately activated. Sterl, as if foreseeing the strike, quickly dodged, narrowly avoiding the long sword that was supposed to pierce his throat.

However, the attacks of the surrounding soldiers were unavoidable. Over ten long spears simultaneously struck him.

With a single sweep of his sword, Sterl cleaved the attacking soldiers in half. His gaze then fixed on the front, where he saw a warrior standing tall—two ters in height, clad in silver-white heavy armor, and holding a long sword the width of five fingers.

From this warrior, Sterl sensed no emotion, only the chilling cold of death and murderous intent. It was like a killing machine sealed in armor, or a suit of armor awakened by bloodlust.

Soon, similar armored warriors appeared from the surroundings. A total of sixteen armored figures ford a tight encirclent, trapping him. Behind them, more heavily armored soldiers with long lances were seeking opportunities to attack.

Further behind, the sound of the Crimson Fla Dragon Horse galloping once again filled the air. Clearly, a new round of charges was about to co!

A loud warning bell rang in Sterl's mind. The sixteen armored warriors before him were each as powerful as his own personal guards and the Nightmare Lord-level beings, equivalent to the extre upper-tier of divine authority, perhaps even stronger.

Not only that, but his intuition told him that these armored warriors contained so terrifying power. Once fully unleashed, their strength would instantly rise to the level of powerful deities!

In an instant, he analyzed the situation in his mind. With his current strength, even if he activated the Star-Bone Body and unleashed all his ans and trump cards, it would still be difficult to withstand the incoming assault.

If he showed any sign of weakness, facing these powerful warriors, he would have no way out but death.

With that thought, Sterl exhaled deeply, and the Sword of the World vanished from his hand.

He looked toward the rear, where the forces had surrounded him. A figure stood atop a massive battle beast, smiling faintly.

At the sight of this, Monroe felt a slight tremor in his heart. For so reason, seeing the War Demon in this state gave him an unsettling feeling.

Without hesitation, under the influence of secret rune resonance, his command was issued imdiately.

"Attack! The entire army, move out! Annihilate the War Demon!"

With the command given, the sixteen armored warriors, holding battle blades, charged toward Sterl like a pack of rabid dogs.

However, at that mont, Sterl had already drawn the Dream Orb. In such a chaotic space, the Gateway of Passage could not form, but the Dream Orb had an incredibly strong life-saving ability—it could forcefully sever connections!

"Goodbye, next ti, I will bring a great gift."

A brighter smile appeared on Sterl's face. From the very beginning, he had never intended to confront the Dream Spirit Empire head-on.

To fight an entire empire with just one's own strength was not a display of dominance, it was courting death.

His sole purpose from the start had been to test the general strength of the Dream Spirit Empire's legions, to gauge the collective military power of this world.

Beyond that, it was to record a coordinate, so he could use the Gateway of Passage to return once more.

Now that both of his objectives were complete, this farce had co to an end.
