If even a single one of them managed to graze Kaelios, he would be forced to burn through ten Destiny Points.
And that was exactly what Alex was counting on: lower his Destiny Points.
Bring him down to 150.
The mont that happened, Alex would win.
Kaelios, however, wasn't that easy to break.
The God of Destiny smirked, unfazed.
"Sneaky bastard," he muttered, his golden eyes gleaming with amusent, "But you know that won't be enough."
Then...
Threads of Fate.
Both of them activated the ability at the sa ti.
Hundreds of golden threads surged into existence, weaving around them like a shifting web, revealing each other's imdiate actions.
Neither of them could make a move without the other seeing it in advance.
It was the kind of ability that created a deadlock, where neither could land a decisive blow.
If this dragged on, it would only benefit Kaelios.
Every ti he successfully dodged or parried, he would earn another Destiny Point.
If Alex allowed this to continue, Kaelios would just cycle his abilities endlessly.
That wasn't an option.
"Ti to think smarter."

Alex unfurled his dragon and angel wings and soared into the sky, putting distance between them.
At the sa ti, he ordered his holy blades to back off.
Kaelios tilted his head.
Then, he laughed.
"Heh? Trying to run away? Futile!"
He lifted a hand.
Chains of Inevitability!
[Effect: Summons golden chains of fate that wrap around the enemy, immobilizing them before exploding, dealing massive damage; costs 15 Destiny Points.]
A dozen golden chains shot from Kaelios' palm, streaking toward Alex at blinding speed.
But Alex was already prepared.
He reached out and selected the [Orb of Dominion].
Chains burst forth from his own hand, spiraling toward Kaelios in retaliation.
Kaelios blinked.
"Oh."
Realization hit him the mont he saw Alex activate [Destiny Shift] to undo the ability.
He had made a mistake.
[Destiny Shift: Undoing "Chains of Inevitability"...]
Beep!
[Cannot be undone.]
Kaelios' lips curled into a scowl.
"Damn it."
With no ti to waste, he swung his swords, cutting through so of Alex's chains.
But this was a [Forbidden Skill].
There was no truly stopping it.
Fwish! Fwish!
The chains wrapped around him.
Kaelios' eyes widened in genuine shock.
"!!!"
Even Alex was slightly surprised.
Kaelios was always one step ahead, always using another ability to escape whenever things got bad.
But this ti, because Alex had used it right after Kaelios' own attack, he had no ti to react.
He would use it against the other gods and chosen ones in the future.
That was important.
Alex quickly stored that fact in his mind.

The golden chains tightened around him, crushing his limbs, cutting deep into his body.
Blood sprayed from the wounds as his flesh was torn apart.

Kaelios' broken form plumted to the ground, hitting the earth with a lifeless thud.
Dead.
But Alex didn't celebrate.
Because he already knew.
This battle wasn't over.
Kaelios couldn't undo attacks, but he could still...
Destiny Shift.
[Undoing Death...]
A groan filled the air.
Kaelios scratched the back of his head, irritated.
"Holy hell, that hurt."
Alex clenched his fists.
If a god like Kaelios could be killed by this attack, then didn't that an the others could be as well?
If he caught them off guard... He could win.
But that didn't change the fact that right now, he couldn't win.
Kaelios grinned as a golden aura ignited around him, flickering like divine flas.
"Alright then, try surviving this."
'Shit!'
Eclipse of Fate! Fated Cataclysm!
[Kaelios condenses Destiny Points into an unstoppable energy spear, throwing it at an enemy. If it lands, the spear explodes in a wide area, dealing massive damage and delaying all abilities on cooldown by an extra minute, 20 Destiny Points.]
A golden spear materialized in Kaelios' right hand.
And in his left, the small golden orb of [Fated Cataclysm].
Kaelios threw the spear.

But Alex already knew what would happen.

Kaelios canceled it instantly, summoning back the spear at it flew toward the human.
Alex's best move was to use one of his own defensive skills.
He quickly selected.
[You have selected the "Orb of the Unbreakable."]
A massive, golden barrier ford around him, intercepting the attack.
BOOM!
The golden spear slamd into the barrier, only to be redirected back at Kaelios at full force.
That was the orb's effect.
All damage was returned to the attacker.
Kaelios narrowed his eyes and raised a hand.
Destiny's Barrier!
[Effect: Manifest an unbreakable golden shield. This barrier absorbs the first three attacks that hit it. The stored power can be reflected at any ti.]
[If the barrier remains for 10 seconds, Kaelios can detonate it manually, unleashing a shockwave that disrupts enemy skills and forces all affected targets into a weakened fate state that cannot be undone; costs 35 Destiny Points.]
This was, without a doubt, one of the most overpowered skills Alex had ever seen.
If he didn't attack, Kaelios would just unleash the shockwave after ten seconds.
And that shockwave couldn't be undone.
He had lost to this ability before.
Too many tis to count.
And the worst part was that if he indeed attacked, the absorbed damage could still be reflected at him later.
Yet Alex wasn't going to let that happen.
BOOM!
The golden spear slamd into the barrier.

Alex narrowed his eyes.
Then, he sent two of his holy swords at it.
Fwish! Fwish!

They vanished upon impact.
The mont the third attack hit, the barrier shattered, along with Alex's own.
Kaelios smiled.
"Well, I won."
Alex exhaled.
"Yeah..."
Because in Kaelios' left hand was still the [Fated Cataclysm] energy ball.
That was the true problem: Alex couldn't undo it.
And once Alex died and tried to undo his death, Kaelios would just undo his revive repeatedly.
Because even after everything, even after using all those abilities, Kaelios still had more Destiny Points than him.

And so it happened.
Kaelios tossed the small golden orb toward him.
Alex's eyes widened.
'Should've saved my [Orb of the Unbreakable]...'
The golden orb reached him.
And then...
BOOOOOOM!!!
A blinding explosion of golden energy swallowed everything.
