The Undead King reappeared before Alex, his expression unreadable, though the faintest trace of amusent lingered.
"Well?" Alex asked, his arms still crossed, his tone calm but expectant.
The Undead King's grin widened, his hollow eyes flickering mischievously.
"As I suspected, your dragon is in worse shape than he lets on. He's lying there like a wounded beast, blood seeping from that grotesque hole in his wing. It's a wonder he's still alive."
"And?" Alex pressed, his patience wearing thin. "What did he say?"
"Oh, the usual stuff," the Undead King replied with a dismissive wave. "He claims he'll be fine, though I'd wager otherwise.
That wound isn't just a physical injury, it's crippling him. Without that wing fully healed, he's bleeding energy with every breath."
Alex's expression darkened as he absorbed the information.
Alphox's condition was worse than he feared, and the dragon's stubborn pride was only making matters more difficult.
"What can be done to help him?" Alex asked, his voice steady but laced with urgency.
The Undead King tilted his head, tapping a bony finger against his jaw in mock contemplation.
"Help? From you? Unlikely. Unless you've mastered the art of ancient dragon healing rituals, there's little you can do. However, there is... another option."
Alex's eyes narrowed. "What option?"
"Dragonheart Essence. A rare and powerful substance said to nd even the gravest injuries in dragons. It's extracted from the core of a living dragon," The Undead King inford, "That's all for ."
Then he disappeared, feeling like he had done more than enough with that [Death Call].
"Dragonheart Essence, huh..." Alex mumbled back, "I guess I'll rember that."
But other than this, he had no real way to actively know what to do.
His only real tracks were:
1. The [Double Experience Zone], filled with angels.
2. The [Tower of Destiny] as there would surely be so dragons in the fifth floor and beyond.
The [Dragon] bloodline is slightly more rare and powerful than the [Angel] one, which ant it would also be much harder to get it.
"I'll figure it out later, instead I would rather complete that quest quickly to get a new powerful item/skill," Alex nodded, "Angel it is, then."
"Are you done," Aurelia filled spoke, curiosity in her gaze as she wondered what Alex was preparing, "You've been talking alone for a while."
"Oh," Alex realized that the two girls were probably confused, and so he simply gave them the general premise.
"W-Wow, beco an angel or dragon?!" Alice's eyes sparkled.
"I want that too!" Aurelia nodded.
"Well, I'll need to find out how to do it myself first," he sighed, "Maybe later."
Before teleporting to the [Double Experience Zone], where he hoped to uncover even a shred of information about the angels, or at least help Aurelia level up, Alex paused.
His gaze fell on the assassin girl, standing with her daggers strapped to her hips.
"Give your [Return Twin Daggers]," he said, his tone calm but firm.
Aurelia blinked in confusion. "Why?"
"Just trust ," Alex replied, extending his hand.
Reluctantly, Aurelia unstrapped the daggers and handed them over.
Alex took them and activated his talent perk, [Potential Extraction], letting his mana surge into the weapons.
A faint hum filled the air, growing louder as the daggers began to glow.
Their sleek black blades shimred with a faint blue aura, which pulsed like a heartbeat.
Slowly, the glow intensified, and the daggers' shape started to shift.
The once-simple hilts elongated, their textures morphing into intricate patterns that glead like polished silver.
The blades themselves grew thinner but sharper, now radiating a golden light that sparkled with faint threads of crimson.
The aura around them expanded, a combination of gold, blue, and red swirling together like a fiery storm.
Ding!
[You have enhanced the "Return Twin Daggers" (Mythical)]
[New Divine Item: "Free Control Daggers"]
Alex read the notifications silently, the corners of his mouth twitching into a small, satisfied smile.
[Description: Grants 25,000 Strength and 20,000 Agility to the wielder.]

"Not bad," Alex muttered under his breath. Then another prompt appeared.
[Do you want a demo to see how it works?]
Alex selected "Yes" without hesitation.

A glowing holographic figure materialized in front of him and the girls.
It was humanoid but featureless, its form made entirely of white light.
The figure held the newly enhanced daggers in its hands, demonstrating the weapon's abilities.
First, the figure threw the daggers into the air.
With a simple raise of its hand, the daggers froze mid-flight, spinning in place.
Then, the figure pointed to the left, and the daggers flew in that direction like lightning bolts.
It pointed upward, and the blades followed seamlessly, spiraling into the sky with deadly precision.
No matter where the figure directed its attention, the daggers moved perfectly, responding as if they were extensions of its body.
Aurelia, watching this demonstration, was speechless.
The hologram faded, and Alex handed the daggers back to her. "Here," he said simply. "They're yours."
Aurelia stared at him, then at the transford daggers in her hands.
The stats and abilities displayed in her interface made her jaw drop.
"WHAT THE?!" she exclaid, her voice a mix of disbelief and excitent. "THIS IS INSANE! HOW DID YOU—"
"Magic," Alice interrupted with a grin, her eyes glinting mischievously. "It happened to too. Alex is full of surprises, isn't he?"
Aurelia's face flushed slightly as she glanced at Alex. "Y-Yeah... Thank you. I'll make good use of them."
Alex gave her a faint nod, though his attention was already shifting back to the task ahead.
"Good. Now let's move. Grab my hand, we're teleporting out."
Aurelia quickly secured her new weapons, still marveling at their transformation, and took Alex's hand.
Alice did the sa, her ever-present smirk suggesting she was enjoying the show.
Alex opened his [World Map], scanning for their destination.
Alex then opened up his [World Map], selecting the [Double Experience Zone] and more specifically the [Light Plains].
With a final glance at the two won, Alex activated the teleportation.
A flash of light engulfed them, and the world shifted.
When the light faded, they found themselves standing in the [Light Plains], at the edge of the [Angel Forest], a vast expanse of rolling hills and vibrant golden grasses swaying in a gentle breeze.
The sky overhead was a brilliant blue, dotted with wisps of clouds, and in the distance, they could see clusters of monsters roaming.
No angels in sight though, and he was thankful for that.
"Welco to the Double Experience Zone," Alex smiled, mainly talking to Aurelia, "Stay alert. The monsters here are strong, and we're in enemy territory."
Defending Alice was fairly easy now that her agility and strength allowed her to defend herself.
But with Aurelia, Alex would need to focus more.
Her new daggers allowed her to attack from far, and let's not forget the agility and strength boost granted to her too.
"Let's move," he gestured, and the two girls nodded, one more confused than the other, "I want to find a lonely angel..."
There weren't that many in the [Angel Forest], so the [Light Plains] were the way to go.
Plus, the monsters here were at around level 500 at the edges, but the further you went, the stronger they were.
In fact, Alex had never gone past half of the [Light Plains] as that would an getting closer to the third zone: the [Dark Lands], the place where the most amount of angels are.
