His attention turned to his essence, now at C-.

Flexing his fingers, he beca more aware of the strange energy flowing through him.

In simple terms, this essence was what let him use supernatural abilities like Gluttony and his monster transformation.

So, it was safe to assu that increasing it would also boost the power of other skills that depended on it.

It was just a theory for now, but he felt like he was onto sothing.

With everything wrapped up, he walked out of the bathroom in high spirits.

Lyra was still by the door, guarding the place.

"Looks like we’ve got so ti to kill," Neo said, "Might as well make ourselves comfortable."

"By the way, want so coffee?" he chuckled, heading to the machine and brewing it like they hadn’t just murdered soone.

"You can co stop standing there," he added.

She nodded, and both of them lounged on the sofa, staring at the dead body on the floor.

There were no CCTV caras in the office, so they were free to kill ti. Neo even took the opportunity to rest, laying his head on her lap.

She didn’t question the gesture and just brushed his hair with her hand to comfort him.

The silence between them was comfortable, and he felt his eyelids growing heavy. He knew he could trust Lyra to keep watch, so he let himself drift off into a light sleep.

Four hours passed quickly, and Neo woke up feeling refreshed.

He stretched his arms over his head and yawned.

The room stayed quiet, broken only by the soft hum of the air conditioning. Then ca a knock.

He opened it just a crack and peered out.

The rcenary team leader stood there; his posture more rigid now.

"Everything alright, Sir?" he asked, voice cautious.

"Everything’s fine. Don’t disturb us—we’re doing sothing important."

The team leader nodded hastily and backed away,. "Understood, sir. I’ll leave you to your... business."

Neo watched him go, a small smile playing on his lips.

"That was easy," he closed the door behind him. "I think we’ve got a few hours before anyone else cos knocking."

Lyra nodded silently.

He walked over to the coffee machine again and poured himself a fresh cup.

"Things are going smoothly so far," he said to himself, taking a sip "Let’s just hope it stays that way..."

As the hours passed, the sun slowly dipped below the horizon, casting a dark shadow over the dock.

Neo watched through the window as the stars began to twinkle in the night sky.

"It’s ti,"

Neo walked over to Dominic’s corpse; his eyes gleaming with anticipation. He leaned down beside it, his hand reaching out to touch its cold skin.

"Devour"

Black goo started materializing on his hand, spreading like a stain across his palm and fingers. It began to writhe and twist like living tendrils, seeking out their next al...

Neo closed his eyes and focused on the sensation of absorption.

He could feel Dominic’s body begin to break down at a molecular level, its cells dissolving into a nutrient-rich soup that would fuel his own growth...

The process was slow but intense.

Suddenly, visions flashed through his mind, and details about Dominic’s ability settled in like mories he always had.

’So that was his power.’ He touched his chin, thinking for a mont, then raised his hand.

With so effort, the sofa bed slowly lifted off the floor.

’So, this is telekinesis,’ he muttered.

It let him move things with his mind—a pretty cliche power.

But since Dominic had been stuck in a place like this, the ability was either too weak by awakener standards—or he just wasn’t any good at using it.

Either way, in Neo’s hands, this could turn into an overpowered ability—especially since its strength would grow along with his essence.

Lyra’s eyes widened for a brief mont, but she quickly masked her surprise, staying quiet as she watched him.

Neo grabbed ten coins from the desk and started moving them one by one, trying to figure out how many objects he could control at once.

He found that he could control up to five coins at a ti with relative ease.

However, as he tried to add more coins to the mix, his control began to waver.

The coins would stutter and jerk in mid-air, struggling to stay afloat.

Neo’s brow furrowed in concentration as he tried to maintain control, but it was clear that he had reached his limit.

’So, my limit is seven objects for now’ he muttered to himself, letting the coins clatter back onto the desk.

He leaned back in his chair and steepled his fingers together, thinking about the practicality of this new ability.

’With enough practice, I could probably control them from farther away... maybe even get more accurate,’ he muttered, eyes still on the coins.

’If I can handle seven daggers at once, that’s more than enough to catch my opponent off guard.’

And by using his telekinesis to restrict their movent, he could create openings for himself to strike.

’I need to find a way to increase my range and precision. Maybe I can practice controlling one object at first, then work my way up...’

As he paced around, his eyes landed on a small pen lying on the desk. He focused his attention to it and reached out with his telekinesis.

Neo’s eyes followed the pen as it zood through the air.

He was very impressed by the speed and mobility of his telekinesis when focused on a single object.

"Whoa," Neo breathed, grinning from ear to ear. "This is amazing."
