The days that followed encompassed rigorous and well tid hunting expeditions, the two cohorts lded seamlessly into one another as they slowly but surely cleared the sacred beast population around the outpost area.

"Hahaha, lady Victoria killing a grand beast on her own is

expected, I an….it wouldn't be the first ti" Bartholds voice resounded in the middle of the camp, his loud voice filling the atmosphere with a sort of festive feel.

Barthold and Victoria were on the sa team, and on that particular day, they had killed their first grand beast. Not like this was the first ti ever, but according to Barthold Victoria had done it all by herself.

"It wasn't as easy as it looked, that thing nearly killed " Victoria smirked bitterly, she wasn't use to such glorifications.

Killing that thing wasn't even sothing to write ho about because of how close she ca to beco a corpse.

"Killing a grand beast isn't an easy task, the fact you suceeded is already comndable" to the side Cyrus's voice sounded, he had a stick in one had and was slowly churning a pot of broth.

Their main goal was to grow strong enough first by leveling up with the sacred hunts, before laying seige against the grand beasts in the area.

They naturally followed this pattern, but so were just more talented than others when it ca to actually carrying out the plan.

'We need to keep up'

Cyrus felt his prideful heart sink. When Barthold was forced to partake in the entrance test because of his 'special class' he felt sorry for him, he knew the ironback family would no longer support him.

His growth would surely beco stunted without their help.

Now, here he was, part of a team that seed to be leaving theirs in the dust. He didn't like this one bit.

Dispite how agitated he was to surpass them, he wasn't more so than guilliman who was seated at the corner of the square campfire.

He didn't know why, he didn't know when, but he had started to subconsciously compare himself to Victoria, they were alike in a way, but also she seed to be more determined than him.

She, was a noble young lady of a prosperous family with her father still alive and the family still in its glory days. Her status denoted that she would be a pampered spoilt brat.

However, she was far from it, she was focused, determined and relentless.

She knew what she wanted when she wanted it and how to do it…

It was a rare combination that Guilliman lacked, so subconsciously he had entered a battle against this young lady infront of him.

Only after that would he truly be at enough peace to face what was ahead.

After the eting that night, the two cohort watched the flas in their hearts ignit. One grand beast had already been killed, it was ti to go after the rest.

No one wanted to be left behind

"Did you get an echo?" Guilliman dropped next to Morgan and asked looking at the dull looking young man before him.

"Uhh, yes I think so" Morgan stretched his hand out and a dagger ford infront of him from sparks of lights

"A sacred dagger is also good" muttering with a bitter smile on his face, Guilliman shook his head and said.

He was a bit jealous, he had killed 70% of the sacred beasts they cornered and never got even a single echo. It was starting to be frustrating.

"We'll hunt the next one first" guilliman nodded walking forward and he took large strides into the forest

He was already at the peak of level 5, days of hunting sacred beasts, dispite how slow bore fruits allowing him to scale much faster.

But he had to make such that Morgan was keeping up too, after all they would need each other in the coming raid.

'Good thing he's so lucky'

Guilliman mused, Morgan was extrely lucky, if he didn't know his aspect ability which was basically damage repairing, he would think it had sothing to do with luck.

As he walked deeper into the forest, a glimr of light shone in Morgan's sets eyes on Guillimans figure slowly waking deeper into the Forest.

As guilliman mused about this guys luck, he too couldn't help but wonder how guilliman was so good..

It didn't add up, a slum rat with little to no training, he didn't even go to the shelters training centers yet, it seed like he was much more knowledgeable than even them when it ca to monsters, it wasn't just biology.

He knew where to find beasts, how they behaved when provoked and how to provoke them.

That was just one side of course, there was still the matter with his aspect…

Overdo it his ass!!

He looked dumb and absolutely ordinary yes, but he was by no ans a fool, Guilimans so called flaw seed to be none existent.

He could maintain his apparition for hours on end, if that wasn't overdoing it what was? Or did he think keeping ones aspect on for more than a few minutes was normal?

It was absolutely not, it drained physically ntally and was a well for mana.

Sothing wasn't right with the kid, he knew it.

"Hey, co take a look at this" Arriving infront spring, where water seed to rush down into a small river.

"Found a river? where was this since he first got here?" Morgan smirked bitterly as he arrived next to Guilliman.

The spring wasn't so big and neither was the water it released, however, it was a much needed resource.

Water, they didn't know the importance of it until going days without a taste, this ravenswood forest as they called it was really an horrible place.

"I know right?" Guilliman smirked, he and his cohort didn't actually have this problem.

The endless rush echo he had received from the old man in the market place was sufficient for them to use indefinitely.

He was glad he received it unlike before.

"Do

a favor, stand right here will you?" Guilliman said to Morgan with a smile that wasn't really a smile.

This guy didnt smile much so it made him feel a big weird
