Chapter 59: Appraiser's Examination Room (b)
“Hehe, who knows?” Lisa smiled cheekily, resting her head on his arms. “Anyway, no more questions, alright?”
“As you wish, young miss.” Johanna nodded.
“Introduce yourself,” Lisa said to Elliot in a low voice.
“Ahem!” He cleared his throat, and said, “My na is Joker, and I’m here to beco an appraiser.”
Hearing his na, she nearly rolled her eyes but managed to keep a straight face.
However, he has surely lost a few points in her eyes.
“Oh, then please take a seat,” Johanna said while looking at Elliot.
He pulled the seat back and sat down on it, resting one of his legs on another, looking at Johanna with calmness in his eyes.
She was a beautiful brunette with nicely shaped twin peaks and long slender hands. With a face like hers, she could easily marry a rich man and lice a lavish life, Elliot thought, wondering why she is working in a place like this.
Although she was indeed beautiful, she wasn’t even half as beautiful as Lisa.
Thus, he wasn’t romantically or sexually interested in her for now.
He wouldn’t look at her unless there were so benefits involve for him.
Normally, everyone looking at her would show a trace of lust, and most would try to flirt with her.
Yet, this person looked at her with eyes as calm as the ocean, showing not even a single trace of lust.
The impassive look in his eyes and the confidence overflowing out of his deanor impressed her a lot and she wondered whether not this mysterious and unidentifiable person has the capabilities to back up his confidence.
“Are you ready?” Johanna asked with an amiable smile.
Elliot’s lips stretched back to reveal his pearly white teeth, shining brightly under the bright white light of the room, and the light reflecting off of his teeth nearly blinded Johanna’s vision, and in that very mont, he said four words, “I was born ready,” to express his overconfidence.
Johanna grunted in her mind, unable to understand the reason for his overflowing confidence, and then she placed three items on the table.
“Our VVIP custor handed over these three items to us only a day ago, sir. He handed it over to us so that one of the expert appraisers working here would appraise it and find out what uses they have. But these items still haven’t undergone appraisal. Take a look at these three items and try to identify them. You just need to point out the uses of at least a single one of them, and you will not only pass and beco an appraiser of the artifact gallery, but we will also give you a lot of magic coins for appraising them. Though, I believe you won’t be able to do even that. At that ti, don’t bla the Charlotte family for being hot-headed and reckless.” Johanna explained the rules of the test to him, and as she said the last few sentences, she cracked her knuckles.
He knew that she was treated him like a bitch because she believed that he has fooled Lisa and proclaid himself as an appraiser when he is nothing but a quack.
Oh, how wrong she is!
Lisa dryly laughed, whispering words of apologies in Elliot’s ears, and she then started to cheer him up.
Johanna rolled her eyes, unable to understand why her arrogant and bossy young miss has fallen head over heel for a man. She interrupted them by saying, “Do you understand?”
“Yes, I do.” Elliot nodded his head and smiled when he saw a resting bitch expression on her face
“Is that all?”
“Yes,” said Johanna. “Take your ti.”
He lowered his head, looking at the one of the items placed on the table with the intent to know everything about it, and in the ti it takes for a person to blink their eyes, every bit of information about the artifact popped up in his mind, becoming a part of his mories.
His smile widened as he not only obtained the na, uses, and description of the artifact but also its histories and everything about it.
“I’m done appraising it.” Elliot placed his hand on the table and said, attracting the attention of the redhead and the brunette.
“What? So fast? It’s only been less than a minute yet you dare proclaim that you’re done?! Are you joking with ? Even our best appraisers can only find out the na of an artifact in that ti and they need around an hour to determine the uses of an artifact!” Johanna’s pretty eyes widened in surprise, and the unwavering expression on her face evaporated in thin air as she found it hard to believe that this mysterious person managed to appraise three items within rely a few seconds.
“Little girl, it looks like you don’t believe the words of this Joker. So, let make you believe in them!” Elliot said, posing like an arrogant and powerful man, and he then picked up one of the three items before saying, “This piece of tal looks no different than iron, but it is an anti-gravity Artifact. Once a magician pours magic energy into it, it will undoubtedly levitate. One can use it to create an aircraft that runs solely on magic energy! Moreover, it belongs to the ruined Dwarf Civilization, and it also has many others uses. Give a pen and a paper and I will list them out for the VVIP custor.”
“Ah, yes.” Johanna felt so awed and amazed by his words and imposing aura that she forgot to verify his words and spoke without thinking for even a mont. Not only that, she did what he told her to do. She took out a pen and a sheet from her spatial device and handed them over to the mysterious man that has overwheld her senses.
“This will take a while,” Elliot said, knowing full well that it will take several minutes to write every detail of the Anti-Gravity teorite.
Johanna said in a respectful voice, “Take as much ti as you need, mister.”
“Sure,” Elliot said, and he then started to jot down everything about the artifact on the sheet, and after he was with it, he handed it over to Johanna.
“You are done? So fast?” Johanna said, once again shocked out of her wits.
Normally, an appraiser needs a few hours to rummage through their mories and write everything about an artifact on a sheet of paper; however, the mysterious person in front of her did the sa, and that too in several minutes.
What the hell?
Simply conceivable!
