While falling to the ground, the black tentacles that Elliot's sharp swords had diced into pieces experienced a drastic change.
Many eyes appeared on them, and so did a mouth and dozens of tiny, finger-sized wings.
From re tentacles, they changed into living, breathing creatures that looked like a mixture between a bat and a lizard, albeit ones with many pairs of wings and eyes.
Elliot, Zerrick, and Freya looked sowhat surprised and slightly taken aback.
It was Elliot's first ti encountering such a weird creature. He had never t sothing that could not only give consciousness to parts of its body after they get detached from it but also transform into a shape different than what it looks like, sothing a bit too inconceivable.
The giant sli ability was a bit too similar to his thought materialization ability.
It cost him the essence of life to materialize his thought.
Then, it should also cost the giant sli sothing to materialize tentacles and alter them into many new species.
What was it?
Elliot's eyes narrowed.
It was Freya's first ti seeing its true capabilities too. She had no idea that the giant black sli could do sothing like that. If she knew sothing like that would happen, she would have warned Elliot before coming here. She wasn't in the wrong. Although she was pretty good as a spy, the spider queen had kept many things a secret from her, and that included the extent of her genetically modified slis. She had never let them go all out in front of Freya. Even though the spider queen trusted her at that ti, trust doesn't an that she needs to lay out all of her trump cards to her.
The one who reacted the most violently to the sight of the pieces of tentacles transforming into new species was Zerrick. There was madness in his eyes. A crazy thirst for knowledge foreign to him was vivid on his face. He looked eagerly at the giant slis. Their bodies trembled under his gaze, indicating that they felt offended by the way he was staring at them.
The bat-like monsters flapped their wings and charged at Elliot. Before they even reached him, their mouths opened wide, revealing circles of sharp teeth that secreted green liquid. It wasn't poison but energy-lting dew.
Seeing them coming towards him, Elliot stopped checking out the properties of the giant slis by using his godly right eye of wisdom.
His focus shifted on the incoming targets.
He found out that the greenish liquid secreting out of their teeth and pooling inside their mouth had the sa property as the emperor-slaying arrow.
They countered all sources of energy and were able to destroy a person's vitality itself.
As they reached 2 ters away from him, wings sprouted out of Elliot's back, the edges of which were shiny and sharp like blades. And its sharpness slapped so of them so hard that it ripped their faces apart and bounced them back. The mouthful of bile gurgled out of the many slashes on their faces, streaming down their mouth, burning their black fabrics like flesh and creating an audible sizzling size as it did so.
The sll of burnt human flesh filled the air as most bat-like monsters reached a hairsbreadth away from Elliot.
[Magic Technique: Instant Acceleration]
Just as it looked like their teeth would sink into his flesh, Elliot disappeared from his spot. They bit into empty air, and the ugly feeling of dread roused in them, invading their consciousness. Their many eyes revealed traces of fear, which also showcased that on top of having a conscious mind, they could also feel human-like emotions.
Their fear wasn't unfound.
Elliot appeared eighteen ters above them, and they saw eight bumps on his flesh that weren't there the last ti they saw him.
[Supernatural Ability: Devil's Limb]
Eight white tentacles erupted out of his flesh and poured towards the bats like lightning flashing down the sky. Mouths with sharp, pointy teeth appeared all over them. Each devilish limb bit more than a dozen bats simultaneously, a total of forty-eight, and ripped out half of their flesh.
Under the eyes of everyone present, they happily gnawed it, acting like kids sucking on candy. Their expression hastily contorted, twisting into the opposite of happiness.
The spider queen had mixed the body of several creatures, those living in sewers, swimming in feces, flying in the sky, and breathing in the land with slis to create these weapons. They tasted like shit, at, urine, dust, sand.
It was no surprise that a single bite was enough to give the devilish limbs a stomachache and make them feel disgusted with what they were chewing.
Blargh!
The next mont, they vomited whatever was in their mouth and revealed a pale look full of disgust.
Elliot never thought that even his devil's limbs wouldn't like to eat the bats. Just what was so bad about them that even devilish limbs that can devour just about everything would feel disgusted, he wondered.
Whoosh, whoosh!
He snapped out of his thoughts as many more slis, both giant and small, attacked him. They used the sa thod of aggression as the first one. Tens of thousands of tentacles made their way towards him. To onlookers, it felt as if nurous water fountains released streams of black water towards the man hovering below the ceiling.
The man's face was calm as the ocean, and deep, profound thoughts flashed in his eyes. Although his godly right eye of wisdom wasn't able to detect many things about these creatures that recently ca into being, Elliot, with his own capabilities, had gained a better understanding of them.
First off, he noticed that their way of attacking was practically the sa and concluded that they were limited to only a few forms of attacks. A notification popping up in his mind further confird his guess.
Secondly, he discovered that the size of each of the slis had decreased sowhat. The change in their height was so tiny that Freya didn't even notice it. Elliot saw it because he was being attentive from the get-go.
He concluded that they converted their body mass into different forms of attack. The more enormous and more complex the way they attack, the more body mass they will lose.
Lastly, he confird why there were only attacking him.
He had a lot of essence of life, which is like a person's vitality, on his body, more so than Zerrick and Freya. And this was their favorite food. Moreover, they were highly greedy for the amount of essence of life present in his body and were ready to give up everything to get it.
[Energy Radiation: Interdiate-level!]
Elliot's ice-cold gaze fell on the many incoming tentacles, so many that they left not an inch of space unoccupied, causing only darkness to enter his sight. His eyes contained not a hint of warmth or any other emotions.
They only held indifference. These eyes had sentints similar to the state of mind of a subli emperor.
An intense pressure exploded out of him and pressed down on the many tentacles and everything else in the second area.
Not only did all the tentacles co to a sudden halt, but they also started shaking. Lines started appearing over them.
At this mont, Freya felt like she was a mont away from death. Zerrick felt the sa. He didn't know why, but he found out that the scythe of the grim reaper was resting on his neck. The instant he felt this feeling, he activated his authority, which one can earn after reaching the subli state. A huge occurred in his body. Although he was still there, nothing could touch him, and at most, they would pass through his figure. Such was his authority that made him no different than space itself.
anwhile, the lines on the tentacles had increased by a lot.
Now, it looked like there were many cracks on the immobilized tentacles.
The cracks opened up, and then the noise of jade vase shattering echoed in the area.
"Crack, crack!"
All the tentacles shattered into ten thousand or more pieces, crystallized pieces of darkness hazardously plumting to the ground.
The pressure that had acted on their tentacles was so imnse that it had solidified them.
Freya raised her head and saw that there was not even a scratch on Elliot. She further noticed that the air around him had changed. It has beco more denser. And his deanor had taken a 180-degree turn. He seed emotionless.
Elliot had understood what he was always missing while using energy radiation. It was the thoughts that should go along with it. A subli emperor created the energy radiation technique. What was he thinking when creating it? Elliot, of course, didn't know. He only understood after seeing Zerrick in action, seeing him killing others with an indifferent, relaxed look. It was then that he realized that to Subli Emperor, everything below their level was equal to an ant. So when using energy radiation, he only needed to have one thought in his mind, and that was that his targets were only re ants that he could crush to death.
