Chapter 214: Rain of Swords
As their resistance proved to be futile, anxiety and dread took hold of each of them, making a feeling of helplessness roar inside of them.
They had desperately launched an attack on the cage, and the only thing they had got in return was the death of more than half of them.
In just a mont, their number was reduced by another half, causing their stomach to churn and twist.
Seeing the twisted expressions on their faces as if they had taken spoiled food, causing them to suffer from stomach ache, the pleased look on Elliot’s face widened.
His psychopathic and sadistic tendencies surged yo to his head, making decisions for him. Instantly, his persona changed.
“Welco to my prison, ladies, and gentlen.” Acting like a professional butler from the middle ages, Elliot slightly bowed with his hands in his chest and with a thin smile on his face. “As you had already determined, you guys are the prisoners, and I am the warden. You can also refer to as your most handso caretaker.”
Everyone could see a change in his character, almost as if a ghost had taken over his body.
“Now, there are so rules to this place, and you must follow it word to word. Firstly, trying to break out will result in your death. Well, not like you can even scratch the cage’s wall. Know this, in this place; there’s no escape for beings with your power levels. You are all too weak to destroy the cage’s wall, and I advise you not to annoy it a second ti, or else you had already seen what would happen.”
Elliot brought his hand near his neck and made a swiping motion, telling them that they would all get beheaded if they annoyed the cage’s will once again.
“Of course, there’s still a way for you guys to survive.”
While he was saying those words, he was walking closer to them.
The desperate beasts and serpentine devils, including the devil bull and Tyler Barnes, backed away, stepping towards the cage’s wall. Although both Elliot and the prison wall were a danger to them, they still chose to go towards the latter and step away from the forr as the chances of them having Elliot near them were 100%.
Without telling them what they needed to do to survive, Elliot kept on walking up to them. After a few monts, the beasts and the serpentine devils were standing back to back with the prison wall, having no way left to go.
In front of them, the shadow of death stood in silence.
“Kill , and you will survive.”
A gust of wind blew amid the silence, carrying a few words that broke the ice-cold eerieness.
‘Kill or die trying.’
Elliot was telling them that in a cheerful voice.
The onlookers frowned. They didn’t like what he was doing. It’s not like they were against letting him mouse and cat with a group of scumbags. It’s just that one should never let one’s guard down while fighting the serpentine devils. These bastards had a lot of tricks up their arse, and they could pull it out in an instant. They were worried that Elliot would face extra trouble by giving them ti, and they wanted him to deal a finishing strike to all of them, instantly ending them. They had seen how strong he was, and they knew that killing the remaining enemies that sumd up to 2000 wouldn’t be hard for him.
Elliot didn’t know that the outsiders saw his performance. Otherwise, he would have kept his sadistic nature in check and ended this fight. For now, his enemies amused him.
Although desperation and helplessness filled with each of them, he could see a trace of determination flashing across their eyes. An instant later, they charged at him, launching various types of attacks on him.
Only a few monts ago, they were treating him like this absolute being that couldn’t be killed nor hard and running away from him as if he were the harbinger of choice and death. Yet, look at them now. Without any hesitation, they threw themselves at him. Why and how was such a profound change possible? It was because he had cornered them through and through. They were cornered rabbits with nowhere left to go. Though, they weren’t ignorant and knew that they couldn’t kill Elliot. Such a thing wasn’t possible even if they suddenly ended up becoming ten tis stronger than now.
Of course, the reason they attacked him wasn’t to kill him.
They just wanted to leave their marks on him before dying, and they were willing to trade their life to do that.
Cute little rascals.
Elliot smirked.
The various thunderbolts, wind blades, and many other elental attacks hadn’t even reached him when tens of thousands of lights erged all around them. The entire prison brightened up in God’s Grace. Then, one wall after another appeared in front of Elliot, acting as his shield.
BOOM
The attacks failed to reach Elliot as the walls blocked them, even rendering their shockwaves useless. Following that was the scenery that gave many a heart attack, even causing them to feel as if their hearts were going to jump out of their chest.
Around a thousand rays of light flickered above the heads of the serpentine devils and the many traitorous beasts. They started to churn and extend, taking the shape of magnificent swords with a glow so bright that even a sky full of stars would pale in comparison.
“Descend.”
A single word that ca out of Elliot’s mouth declared the start of a massacre. The golden swords fell from the skies with such speed that they appeared no different than shooting stars or arcs of golden lightning in the eyes of the onlookers. That was the last thing 1800 living beings saw before the sword slamd into them like a violent tsunami. Shredded pieces of at fell to the ground as liters of blood trickled out of many warm carcasses, coloring the dusty brown land in a crimson hue.
