Thirty minutes before Kaine encountered Aion,

Lisanna reinforced her body with divine power and kicked off the ground.

—Fwoosh!

Aion watched her movents and—

“?!”

His eyes widened in shock.

‘Fast!’

She had rely kicked off the ground once.

She hadn’t done anything else beyond that.

And yet—

“Kh…!”

She was so fast that his eyes couldn’t keep up.

Aion barely managed to block her attack.

However—

—Throb.

Even though he had blocked it, a crack ford in his arm.

As Aion reeled from the unexpected situation, Lisanna, on the other hand—

‘What? Why is he so surprised?’

She tilted her head, looking puzzled.

The attack just now was just a warm-up.

She had only launched a light strike to gauge his skill, yet he was reacting like his life was on the line.

‘Is he acting?’

It was certainly possible.

Unlike regular monsters, this one had a high level of intelligence.

So, he could very well be pretending.

“Well, I’ll find out if I hit him a few more tis.”

With that, Lisanna once again threw a light punch.

—Whoosh!

Unlike Kage, her strikes looked crude.

However, Lisanna’s overwhelming physical abilities made up for her lack of technique.

“Damn it.”

From the receiving end, her attacks felt completely unfair.

Her punch grazed his cheek.

And at that mont—

—Drip.

Dark red blood trickled down from the cut.

The next mont, Aion realized sothing.

He had let his anger cloud his judgnt and made a terrible mistake.

‘…I need to run.’

It didn’t matter that she was the daughter of his sworn enemies.

If he made the wrong move now, he could lose his life.

Ignoring Lisanna’s puzzled expression, Aion turned and fled.

“…Ah, I see now.”

The next mont, Lisanna nodded in understanding.

“So, you’re actually weaker than I thought?”

She smirked and closed the distance in an instant.

At that, Aion—

“Don’t underestimate !!”

He roared in frustration and slashed at her with his monstrous claws.

—Slash!

The sheer force of the attack split the trees nearby in two.

“Hmm. This is kind of disappointing…”

Lisanna blocked the attack effortlessly.

Honestly, it was better for her if he was weak.

However—

“If it’s like this, I don’t even feel like I’m avenging my parents…”

Rather than revenge, this felt more like bullying soone weak.

But regardless—

“Well, whatever. I’ll just beat you up first.”

Saying that, Lisanna grabbed his hand tightly.

“Kh…!”

Aion groaned, furrowing his brow as her grip crushed down on him.

And then—

—Thud!

She drove her knee into his face with full force.

—Crunch!

A sickening crack echoed through the forest as his nose shattered.

In the next mont, Aion was sent flying and crashed into a tree.

He groaned and tried to lift his upper body.

‘Damn it. What the hell is this? Even her parents, the highest-ranking priests, couldn’t defeat .’

What Aion didn’t realize was that Lisanna wasn’t just any ordinary warrior.

She was a Saint.

Even though she hadn’t been awakened for long, a Saint was on an entirely different level from even the highest-ranking priests.

Beyond that, Lisanna’s natural talent was unmatched.

After all, she was the daughter of two top-tier priests.

‘What do I do? Is there a way to escape?’

He tried desperately to co up with a plan.

‘Damn it.’

But no matter how hard he racked his brain, nothing ca to mind.

His mind was racing so fast it felt like it was overheating.

“Still have ti to think?”

Before he knew it, Lisanna was standing right in front of him, smiling.

Her expression should have seed benevolent, illuminated by the radiance of her divine power—

‘…What the hell? Is she really a priest?’

—but the sheer killing intent she exuded made her look absolutely terrifying instead.

—Boom!

Lisanna drove her fist down with full force.

“Urgh…!”

Aion coughed up blood as he clutched his abdon.

“Kh…!”

His ribs cracked.

But whether they shattered or not was none of Lisanna’s concern.

—Whack! Smack!

She relentlessly beat Aion down.

The rciless blows rained upon him.

Any normal person would have been dead by now.

“I guess having monster blood does make you more durable.”

His title as a half-human, half-monster wasn’t for nothing.

He had remarkable vitality.

But that was all.

“Ugh… ugh…”

Now a bloodied ss, Aion had completely lost his will to fight.

Lisanna stepped on him and clicked her tongue.

“This feels less like revenge and more like bullying a weakling…”

Revenge was supposed to feel empty, but this was excessive.

‘Is this how Kage felt too…?’

Well, that didn’t matter.

Her parents’ revenge had been fulfilled, so now it was ti to ask her question.

Lisanna grabbed the unconscious Aion by the collar and—

“Wake up, you bastard.”

—shook him with full force.

Maybe it was the violent shaking, but—

Aion frowned and groggily opened his eyes.

“Ugh… Was that a nightmare…?”

“Nightmare, my ass. Stop denying reality. You said earlier that only the victor has the right to ask questions, right? Well, now it’s my turn. Why the hell were you so obsessed with attacking the village?”

“Kh…!”

Realizing the situation was real, Aion let out a scoff.

Lisanna scowled at his twisted smile.

“You little shit, did I not beat you enough? What the hell are you laughing about in this situation?”

“Of course, I can’t help but laugh. You think I’ve been tornting that tiny village, don’t you?”

Lisanna nodded as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.

Seeing her reaction, Aion unconsciously shouted with anger.

“Don’t be ridiculous! Who was it that tornted my parents just because they gave birth to ?! And bullying just because I’m a half-human, half-demon—how is that justified?!”

Was it sheer resentnt? Even with a face that looked like he was on the verge of death, Aion was still seething.

Hearing his words, Lisanna was montarily shocked, but—

“When was that?”

A thought passed through her mind—the most important one.

If what he said was true, then revenge was understandable.

However, that aside—

“So exactly when did that happen?”

Was his target of revenge truly the current villagers?

At Lisanna’s cold question, Aion answered in a monotone voice.

“Around 90 years ago.”

“Ninety years ago, and you’re taking it out on us now, you dumbass?!”

Hearing his answer, Lisanna slamd her fist down at full force.

—SMACK!

Aion crashed into the ground.

Lisanna crossed her arms and scoffed.

“Ninety years? Then everyone who tornted you is already dead. This is just absurd.”

If she thought about it logically, his targets for revenge were long gone.

But even knowing that, how was he supposed to suppress his rage?

‘Damn it. I was recovering, but now I’ve taken more damage.’

The real reason he had been stalling for ti was to heal.

Unlike humans, his cells were partially demonic, allowing him to regenerate quickly.

While Aion was growing anxious inside—

‘Hmm?!’

Lisanna sensed a presence approaching.

She turned her head.

‘It must be him.’

No one else could have arrived this quickly.

As she let her guard down for a brief mont—

‘Now!’

Aion, who had been waiting for an opening, launched a sneak attack.

“Huh?”

A sudden attack while she was distracted.

Aion’s punch landed directly on Lisanna’s face.

—THWACK!

Though it didn’t cause much damage, was it because she wasn’t bracing herself?

She collapsed onto the ground.

Aion, now covered in blood, looked down at her.

Then, just as he was about to make his escape—

“What?”

A deep voice echoed in his ears.

Aion turned his head and, in the most unjust tone, muttered—

“Why the hell is this happening to ?”

Then he bolted.

Watching him run, Kaine—

“……”

—strengthened his body with magic.

And in the sa instant—

—GRAB!

He seized Aion’s head in one swift motion.

Kaine frowned as he looked at the bloodied Aion.

‘What the hell happened to this guy?’

Aion’s body was in complete shambles.

After a mont of thought—

‘Right. Considering he fought Lisanna, it’d be weird if he was still in one piece.’

Kaine nodded in understanding.

“W-wait!”

Sensing imminent danger in Kaine’s sharp gaze, Aion desperately shouted—

—CRACK!

Without another word, Kaine crushed his skull.

Chunks of Aion’s flesh splattered from his grip.

—PLIP PLIP!

Shaking off the blood, Kaine turned toward Lisanna and rushed over.

‘…Huh? What’s this?’

Now that he wasn’t blinded by rage, he could see sothing strange.

Earlier, he had been too furious to notice.

But up close, she looked… perfectly fine.

anwhile, Aion’s body was so utterly destroyed that there were no words for it.

While Kaine was briefly taken aback, Lisanna—

‘Damn it. This is awkward.’

She was also feeling embarrassed.

Originally, she had planned to kill Aion imdiately after his sneak attack out of sheer fury, but—

‘Kaine showed up, huh?’

With his unexpected arrival, she had chosen to play the part of a helpless victim instead.

But now, with the situation as it was, she was starting to feel a bit awkward about it.

“……”

“……”

An awkward silence lingered between the two.

Then Kaine broke it first.

“Lisanna. Get up.”

—Twitch!

Her shoulders noticeably flinched.

Then, scratching the back of her head in embarrassnt—

“Haha… You caught , babe?”

“I an, never mind the acting, but you’re way too unhard to have been on the receiving end of an attack.”

After all, it was absurd for so half-demon hybrid to have overpowered a Saint.

“By the way, though—you looked really cool when you got mad for . So I’ll apologize in advance.”

Suddenly, she apologized.

Kaine tilted his head in confusion.

“Hm—?!”

Lisanna pressed her lips against his.

It was so sudden that their teeth clashed, but their enhanced bodies made such a thing feel like nothing.

‘What the hell?!’

Kaine instinctively tried to push her away.

But she strengthened her grip with body enhancent magic.

And that wasn’t all—

“?!”

She slid her smooth tongue into his mouth.

As the two shared an intense deep kiss—

“Young Master!”

“Master!”

—Kyuut!

The village guardians ca into view.

And in the next instant—

—Twitch!

Their faces froze at the scene before them.

Then—

—SIZZLE!

Both humans and beastkin exuded a murderous aura as they approached.

anwhile, the dragon cub was covering its eyes with both paws.

“Looks like things aren’t over yet.”

“Master, we’ll take care of that fox.”

—Kyuuu…

Damn it. Can I just have one mont of peace?
