Leroy’s smile brightened, showing how happy he was to hear that.

"I’ll definitely make sure of that," he promised.

With that, they continued to make small conversations as they walked to the area where most of the crew mbers were standing, sitting and loitering about. Their discussions mainly centered on the movie’s publicity, a matter that was supposed to be ant just for the ears of the crew mbers and the lead actor and actress.

However, since Leroy felt comfortable enough to share the plan with them, who were they to remind him they weren’t qualified to hear it.

"I have quite the influence at school," Jodi chipped in, accompanying her words with a small chuckle. "It won’t do much but I guess twenty percent of the students at NEU watching because I was cast in the movie, should make a difference."

"Of course, it would!" Leroy exclaid hurriedly, as if he couldn’t believe Jodi was considering that a small contribution. Eighty percent of the students who attended NEU—NewDun Elites University— were children of the elites; either those whose parents held important positions in the society or those who held the position themselves. While the rest twenty percent were either admitted on scholarship or through association with the elites.

If twenty percent of those people wanted to watch the movie he co-directed, then it ant the movie was already successful even before they began shooting. Yes, most of them would want to watch the movie before the release date but that also ant they would pay extra.

"As for ..." Avery cleared her throat, "I’m so sorry I won’t be able to contribute." She chuckled, "I don’t have as much influence as Jodi does on campus."

Leroy shook his head, giving them both a thumbs up.

"That’s totally alright, Miss Donovan. Your re presence is enough publicity. We only hope you don’t get angry with the dium our publicity team will employ—"

"I don’t mind," Avery interrupted, "In return, I’ll ask for your forgiveness in advance for the mistakes I might make later on."

They had arrived at the base this ti so Leroy gestured to the beach chairs littering the area, while he sat down on one of them. Avery and Jodi did the sa before he continued,

"Yes, yes," he gave a reassuring nod. All of a sudden, the smile on his face disappeared and his expression grew serious. "That aside, Miss Donovan, since you read the script, you’d know there’s a kiss scene with the male lead today."

Avery nodded. She had noticed that right from the very first ti she read the script. And though it was only a kiss for the first scene, she would have to act about two simulated sexual scenes with the male lead before she was eliminated from the storyline entirely.

Instead of relaxing when he heard Avery’s positive answer, Leroy’s face tightened.

"So uh... this is the thing. You weren’t available when the rest of us had the eting with Stuart last week, and you didn’t hear his requirents," he began.

Judging from the way he was speaking slowly, Avery could already tell he wanted to say sothing she wouldn’t like to hear. But then, was there really anything she would hate to hear at this point as long as it wasn’t about her removal from the cast?

"Does his requirents have anything to do with ?" she asked, feeling Jodi’s hand squeeze hers in reassurance. She could probably feel Leroy’s discomfort too.

"Actually yes," he replied. "At the ti, he just arrived from a fan eting that drained all his eh...social tolerance, I guess. My point is, he asked what your na was and when we told him, he says he doesn’t want to get...involved with an unknown actress."

"Involved as in?" Jodi raised her brows, sitting up instantly. It was obvious from her defensive stance that she was prepared to back Avery up no matter what Leroy said next.

"The kiss scenes and simulated sex scenes," the older man replied frankly. "For reasons known to all three of us here, we didn’t show him your pictures because well, we were scared he would refuse blatantly if he finds out you are being bashed online. But turns out his not knowing exactly how you look, makes him think you look eh..."

"Ugly," Avery completed his sentence, unable to stop the scoff that escaped her lips after. Whoever the actor representing the male lead was, just because he had the fa and probably the looks; did that an he could chose partners? Well, thank goodness she hadn’t joined this movie with the motive of getting close to him.

"Not exactly," Leroy’s voice interfered with her thoughts, "All he was trying to say is he can’t act such emotional scenes with soone he doesn’t at least feel attracted to. It’s all my fault for rushing the process to the extent that we began shooting even though the actors never got introduced to each other properly."

Shaking her head slowly in disagreent, Avery stated, "It’s totally alright. My only concern is that...why does he feel he needs to be attracted to when I’m not the female lead? And emotional scenes? It’s barely emotional since I’m ant to be a fling, albeit a possessive one. If there’s anyone who needs to feel attracted to another here, it should be to him." The words flew out of her mouth like a barrage of bullets before she could hold herself back to rember the warning email from earlier today. And when she was finally done, there was no way she could take them back.

She stared at Leroy’s surprised face with an innocent expression on hers, licking her lips nervously.

"I’m sorry about that. I was just trying to tell you what my view was on that. Not that I was offended though. I will accept all the arrangents you might have made concerning this," she hurriedly apologized in the subtlest way she could make up, trailing off when a thought suddenly popped in her mind.

Her outburst just now helped her realize sothing. And it was that she still didn’t know who the actor representing the male lead was; nothing about him at all.
