Song Lei pulled the handle of the door. The door creaked open as a horrendous stench filled his nostrils. He hardly held himself back from belching.
Song Lei listened to the periodic noises of a tallic thing hitting wood.
'Soone is cutting sothing,' Song Lei guessed while closing the door behind him. Whatever the being in the room was, it didn't seem to sense Song Lei's presence. 'Do I have to fight against it?'
Considering that his initial goal was to trim off Amber's forces as much as he can, he couldn't co to a conclusion about what he should do.
After thinking about it for so ti, Song Lei turned on the lights of the kitchen. He took a quick look inside the room and located a fridge he could hide behind. He could see a kitchen island right in the middle of the kitchen. There were a few cupboards and a sink next to the kitchen island. The room had a general black and white design to it.
Other than that, he could see a knife going up and down on its own in the far right corner of the room, Cutting off slender pieces from a block of at, seemingly all on its own. But Song Lei knew that for a fact, the one who was using the knife was an invisible maid monster. She was humming a creepy lody he hadn't heard before.
Song Lei darted towards the fridge without making any sounds and hid behind it. Because of the reversed lights rule of the mansion, the maid was left in almost complete darkness. Song Lei could see that the thing holding the knife was getting flustered. It dropped the knife on the table and staggered towards the light switch.

Song Lei saw bloody footprints appearing on the floor. He couldn't identify what at the maid had been cutting but he could pretty much understand that it contained a lot of blood.
'This is my chance!' Song Lei thought. He gulped loudly and squeezed his knife tightly in his hand. He wanted to attack the maid right as she was about to turn on the light switch as her hands would be occupied at that ti.
Although the maids didn't seem to have very high amounts of combat power, Song Lei still couldn't let go of his carefulness. If the maid alerted its allies before dying and they flocked into this room, Song Lei wouldn't have any chance standing against them.
The bloody footprints stopped right in front of the light switch. This was the signal Song Lei had been waiting for. He bolted out of his hiding place and charged at the maid with the cursed knife. There were almost 4 ters between them. But because of his enhanced physique, Song Lei could traverse such little distances in very short tis. It looked more like he was jumping forward rather than he was running. He had taken two very long steps to reach the maid.

Song Lei felt his knife tearing through soft flesh. He didn't stop there, though, as he pushed his knife upwards to kill the maid as fast as he could. Fortunately, Song Lei could finish her off before she scread.

Song Lei pulled his knife back as the dead body of the maid slowly appeared before his eyes. There was a 50 centiters wide wound on her chest. He had probably cut her lungs before she could scream.
Song Lei pulled the corpse towards the back of the fridge and covered it with a tablecloth he found.
After he was done with that, he started rummaging through the kitchen. He searched for almost twenty minutes but couldn't find the pills.

'Oh fuck!' Song Lei shouted in his mind. Soone had opened the door and was about to co in. Song Lei laid on the ground and rolled sideways to go under the kitchen island. As soon as he rolled in, the lights of the room got turned off.
"Fu Yating?" A soft voice said. Song Lei kept his position without letting out a single sound. He was even holding his breath to make sure that he wasn't making any sounds.
"Fu Yating? Are you there?" The person who just ca in repeated. Song Lei assud that the person who ca in was a woman from her voice.
Seeing that no answer was coming, the woman walked in and started walking around the room. Song Lei knew that he wasn't in her sight from her footsteps. The biggest problem he had right now was his lack of vision. He couldn't see much further than a ter. Even if the woman who just ca in was a normal maid of the mansion. She would still have a trendous sight advantage against Song Lei.
'Uhh..?'
While laying under the kitchen island, Song Lei saw a little button on it. It had the exact sa design as the other parts so it couldn't be seen without looking carefully. Considering that pressing the button could give away his position, Song Lei delayed doing so. Instead, he closed his eyes and focused on his ears. As he was currently in an isolated mind space, there weren't any distracting noises. Only the footsteps of the woman could be heard.
Song Lei tried to rember the layout of the room to his best. He placed himself on the map he had made in his mind and tried to do so for the woman by listening to her footsteps.
'Fuck! She is about to see the corpse!' Song Lei shouted in his mind. If the woman saw the corpse, she would probably shout and make a lot of noise. That would ruin all of Song Lei's plans and possibly kill him.
To stop that from happening, Song Lei took out canned beans from his backpack and rolled it on the floor. The can made clanking noises while rolling and hit a wall. The woman's footsteps stopped.
Song Lei's heart was beating like crazy, he rolled out of his place as he was still out of the woman's sight. As long as he was behind the kitchen island, she wouldn't be able to see him.
Footsteps of the woman started coming closer. Song Lei deducted which side the woman was coming from and crawled to the other side. His heart was beating so hard that he was scared it would alert the woman. Fortunately, no such thing happened, and Song Lei went around the kitchen island.
He heard the woman pick the can up from the ground and charged at her. Unfortunately, this ti, the woman heard Song Lei's footsteps and reacted in ti. Song Lei's knife penetrated her side but couldn't finish her off at once.
"AAAAH!!"
