The last and most important reason I'm confident nothing would go too wrong such as a [D] or [C] ranked beast chasing is that..
'I'm an extra.'
.
.
That's right, you heard . Now, while those protagonists and people with extrely strong Luck, Fate, or Destiny, as you call it do have their advantages, they also have a massive disadvantage. That disadvantage is especially so for the protagonist of the novel I wrote. It is the fact that they're all calamity magnets.
A seemingly simple visit to a random cafe the protagonist visits could have a dungeon opening right in its face the next second. Or maybe, a random person for no absolute reason would show up to his table and ask him to get up. The random person, let's call him "Arrogant Young Master", would scream at the protagonist, spouting bullsh*t such as if the protagonist knew who he was. He'd go on along the lines of, "I'm the son of so blah blah blah who's actually a blah bla-" *cough* *cough* you get my point.
The protagonist would have to face off against tons of random people who had a seemingly endless amount of ti on their hands with nothing worthwhile to do. If it was the protagonist who'd set off to find the cheat, he'd have to face off against [C] or.. maybe even [B] ranked beasts. A simple walk in the park could turn out to be a life-and-death experience for him.
As for ..? It's safe to say nothing out of the norm would happen for as I'm an extra. I wouldn't randomly chance upon so heaven-defying treasures, but I also wouldn't fall into deep trouble multiple tis. I'm simply an extra, the plot doesn't revolve around after all.
While I had been contemplating over these things, I noticed that I was about to reach my destination, The Storm Haven City. The vast territory the humans had claid consisted of about 30% of the wilderness in it. This ant that humans only owned approximately 40% of the continent. This remaining 40% was split into countless cities which all ca together to form a single nation. The Storm Haven City was on the borderline of the Human Nation - Athanasia, a word which represented Immortality.
'Funny huh, given how we humans gotta give up our own lands to other races then call our nation as sothing related to Immortality. I must have been drunk high when I chose this na, especially given how this "Immortality" almost got destroyed several tis in the future.'
I got up from my seat and exited the Mana Train, stepping onto the platform.
*sigh*
"Looks like I'm running low on money, huh?" I spoke to no one in particular as I checked my account balance in my smartwatch.
[Account: XXX]
[Balance: 368 credits]
It seed like I'd have to do sothing about this sooner or later. Maybe I could try investing in stocks a bit, after earning so money. I rembered how there was supposed to be an incident 3 months from now. I was ntioned in the novel because the incident was actually caused by soone related to one of the main casts. This incident caused the stocks of one of the Top-10 guilds to plumt, causing everyone who owned those stocks to suffer from a great loss.
Once I earned millions, I could start off my own company too. This world didn't have services that, the in my previous life took for granted such as getting items delivered to your ho, or well-developed social sites. Ever since the threat from the beasts and Demons beca increasingly profound, people were more focused on getting stronger. This led to a lack of common miscellaneous services and even video gas weren't a thing in here. I could easily earn beco a billionaire if I played my cards right.
But, even before all that, I'd actually have to earn enough money to short the stocks of that company to get a decent profit.

Eventually, I made my way towards the exit of the city. I stopped by the gates, to inquire the guards if any strong monsters had been spotted nearby. I wasn't an idiot like the protagonist who'd dive head-in for anything. No way in hell was I going to take my chances about having to run away from a [A] ranked beast. Without strength, I'd die instantly, not even getting to scream. I wasn't the protagonist who'd get injured severely but get saved at the brink of death by so sh*tty plot armor.
After ticulously surveying the surroundings and thoroughly investigating if sothing fishy was going around, I was finally convinced that it was safe to leave. The cities at the border were all surrounded by ginormous walls and a barrier that covered the whole of Athanasia. Stepping outside the barrier, I casually looked at my surroundings and took a deep breath of the air outside.
