I didn't know how long I laid there for, convulsing, but after a seemingly infinite period of ti, the pain gradually started to fade away as I was left with a huge chunk of jumbled mories. Unable to differentiate my mories from that of the person called Asher Gradivus, I blankly stared up trying to make a sense of what was going on. As a matter of fact, I already knew what was going on. It was just that the situation was a bit hard, sudden, and mostly confusing for to take in
Gradually, I lifted my body with my back covered in sweat, up from the bed I was originally sleeping on. As an author whose job was to write novels based on similar genres, I couldn't be any more familiar with the phenonon that was happening right at the mont. That's right, I had transmigrated into a new world. And not just anywhere at that, but the world in the novel I had written myself, my masterpiece 'The Path to Transcending Mortality'.
In a daze, I simply sat there trying to clear my mind of any thoughts, as the mories of both my past life and those of Asher Gradivus started to organize in my brain. After an unknown period of ti, I sighed lightly and ca to the conclusion that I had no choice but to accept the fact that I was now the existence nad Asher Gradivus.

It seed the synchronization process had slowed quite a bit after it reached over ninety percent. I weakly sat up from the bed as I made my way into the bathroom. After standing in front of the mirror, I carefully scrutinized Asher's- no, my own body. I was currently 16 years old. Approximately 182 cm tall, I had hair as dark as a starless night and blue eyes, deeper than the ocean itself. With all my body proportions and muscles well-defined I could definitely be counted as soone slightly handso by the standards of this world.
Ever since the [Mana] had been released into this world 70 years ago, major changes had occurred in almost everything in existence. Each and every single species had undergone an evolution. An evolution, different for each species, as they and their bodies adapted to mana. Even if a human was simply unable to utilize mana, their lifespans had already been increased a lot. The aging process was slowed down and the maximum lifespan of an average human was now declared to be 150 years old
With mana, not only did the lifespans of humans increase, but there was also a change in their physical characteristics, naly their appearances. Mana seed to mold and improve an entity into sothing better than they were before Mana ca into being on Earth. Everyone's appearance seed to have taken a notch or maybe a few upwards.
While my appearance could be said to simply be slightly handso according to the current standards, if we were to asure my current looks to the ones from my previous life then I could easily be counted as an extrely handso man.
As for plants, so beca extrely treasured materials, whereas others evolved into carnivorous and often, quite dangerous ones. The most troubleso matter was the evolution of animals, which transford quite a huge population of those species into aggressive magical beasts. Turning into bloodthirsty beasts, they gained strong physical prowess, thus turning them into strong and challenging opponents for humans at the sa ranks. The magical beasts had a huge advantage against a human of the sa rank, not to ntion the wild instincts they developed which made them not soone to be trifled with.
As it can be seen since the beginning of ti, Humans are creatures who prided themselves on the intrinsic use of their brains to plot sches and devise various thods to survive. While Humans weren't the strongest, they certainly made use of their high intellect to find ways to counter the strong. Stronger weapons were made by imbuing mana into them, combined with the new materials that erged after the release of mana, each stronger than the previous.
These new weapons were strong enough to easily cut through the hides of these magical beasts which were harder than so ordinary tals before the release of mana. While I was thinking about all this, the synchronization rate kept on going up as the last bits of information slowly and calmly started to flow into my head.

After hearing that ssage which was automatically conveyed to my brain instead of a physical voice, I beca eager to check if there had been any new changes to my status after I took over the body of, and beca Asher Gradivus.
"Status", I muttered even though it wasn't absolutely necessary to call it out, as people could simply think of it in their minds and wish to see their status.
