She ran out of the ergency center in one breath and only stopped in the courtyard to catch her breath.

Turning her head, she unexpectedly saw Ben Shaming standing alone by the flower bed, smoking dejectedly.

He looked up in the direction of Catherine’s ward.

Yan Jian saw Ben Shaming, and with his intuition, Ben also turned back, locking eyes with her.

Yan Jian awkwardly nodded, "Did you also co because you heard about Catherine? Why aren’t you going upstairs to see her?"

Ben Shaming’s black eyes fixed on Yan Jian, his whole being seed to blend into the night. He didn’t utter a word, with no expression besides coldness. It made Yan Jian feel like she had asked the wrong question, and moreover... that she was like a superfluous piece of trash at this mont.

Yan Jian could only sigh, "Forget it, I’ll leave first, suit yourself."

.

In the days that followed, Catherine focused on her recovery and couldn’t co to the studio for several consecutive days. Although the colleagues at the studio understood Catherine’s situation, over ti, it inevitably stirred so unease.

This project had a pre-set tiline, and Catherine’s indefinite recovery posed the risk of the project being stalled or even terminated, thus rendering everyone’s efforts futile.

Finally, one day a colleague cornered Yan Jian in the bathroom, and solemnly said, "Why not take over this project yourself? As long as you agree, I’ll handle the work for the other colleagues; if we all unanimously vote, Catherine won’t have the right to veto."

Yan Jian, being from the Tang Family, made the colleagues believe that even if Catherine no longer handled it, the studio’s funds would be supported by the Tang Family, ensuring it wouldn’t collapse. Therefore, Yan Jian was the best choice.

Yan Jian frowned, "How can you think that way? This project is Catherine’s; she built it up bit by bit with so much effort. Her car accident was an accident, and she didn’t wish for it herself. Please understand her and wait for her recovery."

The colleague just laughed, "We certainly know her effort. But we can’t wait indefinitely. If you don’t agree, we’ll also choose soone else."

The colleague left, and Yan Jian looked at herself in the mirror.

In all fairness, she could even stubbornly wish for the project to fail, then she wouldn’t have to care about Jas’s threat, nor have to present her final design publicly.

But... she took a deep breath, raised her head, and stared into her own eyes.

She asked herself earnestly: Tang Yanjian, are you really willing to let this project fail out of personal desire?

Would you really dismiss the passion and effort you once put in for the sake of so jerk?

Tang Yanjian, others’ opinions and sches belong to them, while all the designs and inspirations are your own. They are precious and priceless treasures, not to be discarded easily.

She cald down, washed her face with cold water, then went back to tell the colleague her agreent.

.

All colleagues voted unanimously and went together to see Catherine.

After listening, Catherine just smiled, her eyes resting solely on Yan Jian’s face, "So it’s you after all, now you’re even taking over my studio."

Yan Jian felt very uncomfortable, even though her intentions were not like this, the situation indeed seed to have caused such a misunderstanding... so she didn’t explain much further, deeply inhaled, and said, "I will have an accountant estimate the funds you initially contributed and compensate you. Moreover, I assure you that after this project launches, I will keep your percentage of the profits and continue to include your na in the project introduction; your na will still co before mine."

In business terms, this was already the greatest sincerity.

Catherine laughed bitterly, "Tang Yanjian, you truly are the granddaughter of the Tang Family, each word you say is by the book. It seems like you prepared in advance, just waiting for such an opportunity to arise? My car accident is a disaster for but a completion for you."

Catherine could never forget that night when Tang Yanjian and Jas arrived hand in hand...

She could never forget, that night she was in a distracted state heading back to the office, thinking about the relationship between Tang Yanjian and Jas... which led to the car accident.

Her resentnt, her hatred, could no longer be concealed.

Yan Jian took a deep breath, facing Catherine’s rage, "I can’t bear the word ’completion,’ since the future of this project is still unknown. It could be a great success, or it could be overlooked, so talking about ’completion’ is premature."

"I just want to tell you that I’m willing to do this for our shared dream. This project belongs to all of us, so I’m willing to take your place and do my best for it."

Catherine’s green eyes intensely fixed on Yan Jian, raising her arms proudly, she smiled, "Good. Maybe one day in the future, I will have to thank you for another matter."

The "another matter" Catherine spoke of was sothing Yan Jian no longer wanted to delve into. She simply smiled faintly, "Rest assured, I originally had no interest in that matter."

.

Catherine’s studio changed hands, and Ben Shaming’s job also experienced a change.

Without any warning, Jas suddenly dispatched Ben Shaming abroad. He sent him back to the European Branch, to France, letting him take up a position there once again.

To outsiders, this was rely a surprise, because Ben Shaming, being the confidant the general manager had brought, had always remained by his side, this sudden distant assignnt seed irregular.

Nevertheless, so people thought that maybe since the European Branch was the general manager’s old stronghold, he probably wanted that side’s performance to stabilize and even exceed expectations, so sending his trusted confidant to oversee it made sense.

However, only Ben Shaming was pale-faced the mont he received the transfer order.

This decision by Jas ca without any prior hint, and when he beca aware of it, the dispatch order had already arrived directly.

Jas finally refused to trust him anymore, ultimately suspecting him because of Catherine’s accident.

Those dependent tis, those long years spanning over fifteen years, were finally going to evaporate into a re illusion.

.

He didn’t pay attention to his colleagues’ surprised glances, nor did he acknowledge Bry who ca forward, he didn’t even enter Jas’s office to ask for clarification. He just tore off the badge around his neck, crumpled it, tossed it onto the ground, then strode past it and headed toward the door.

The company security dutifully blocked him, ordering him to pick up the badge, saying all the Ford Group employees should respect this symbol of identity as it represents respect for the company.

He sneered at them, "I’m not accepting the transfer order, I’m quitting, is that good enough?"

The security dared not stop him any longer, watching him in shock as he walked into the misty rain outside.

The sky was dark, and it was raining again.

.

Ben Shaming aimlessly wandered down the street until unknowingly reaching a bar district. He slipped into a bar for a drink.

In this drizzly afternoon, the people inside the bar seed lazy, drinking casually, with so sitting in corners either dozing or spacing out.

He sat at the bar and drank several shots of strong liquor consecutively.

The adjacent empty seats gradually filled with people. Suddenly, soone turned towards him and greeted, "Ben?"

Ben Shaming, slightly drunk, looked up and shook his head, "I don’t know you."

A young guy, looking around 25 years old, with steely blue eyes and distinctly Eastern features.

A handso mixed-race individual.

Although those eyes seed familiar, Ben Shaming wasn’t interested in probing deeper.

At this mont, he didn’t want to be disturbed.

The young guy leaned in, his handso face full of sincerity, extending a hand, "Hi, I’m Mark. Mark Lynch."
